Hi all
I have a XDA II that connects with a pioneer car head unit as a hands free unit, it all works fine however is there an easier way to activate the hand free mode in the wm5 conn manger (buzz_light version) other than conn manger-> bluetooth settings ->devices -> tap hold paired BT device -. select set as hands free?
I have tried just about every app i can find searching here to no avail including btswitch, pzp etc
cheers

Is it possible to have my phone automatically pair up and start using it as the audio device when I turn bluetooth on? I have the new AT&T Tilt and bought a Motorola DC800 bluetooth receiver for my car. I'm new to this whole pda phone thing - and as of right now - I have to go into the settings of the bluetooth menu and click/hold on the DC800 and say "Set as Wireless Stereo"... since I get in and out of the car a lot - I'm looking for a way to avoid having to do these extra clicks...
Any registry tricks or programs that will auto connect for me?
Look for A2DP Toggle. It should solve your problem... not that it would automatically pair, but give you a much easier way to accomplish the above than what you are doing at the moment.
Hello,
I was hoping that somebody may have had the same problem and could help me out.
I have a VW Passat fitted with the premium bluetooth hands free kit, I have also taken delivery of an Orbit 2. I thought the connection would be OK as the orbit 2 supports RSAP profile. However I cannot get the phone to connect. The car kit sees the phone, I input the 16 digit into the phone generated by the car kit, and the car kit then asks if I want to connect the phone, I press OK and then the car kit display shows initialising phone, then connecting phone, but then just loops between these two messages. The orbit 2 shows that it is connected, but there is no connection to the car kit. The car kit is OK as it pairs with my Nokia E51 which runs the RSAP profile for connection.
Any ideas? Any help would be fantastic as I would like to keep the phone if possible.
Orbit 2 - VW Passat
I have an Orbit 2 and a Passat with the premium kit.
When the car gives the message that it is initailising the phone, on the phone, go into Comm Manager, Settings, Bluetooth, then Sim Access. In Sim Access try tapping "Disconnect from Carkit" and then select yes. Close the Sim Access page.
On my car this usually allows the pairing to complete.
Unfortunately I usually have to do this every time I wnat to connect the phone to the car, unlike my Nokia phone which pairs seamlessly.
Hope this helps?

Hi all,
I am trying to use the factory bluetooth integration in my car, and from everything I've read, it requires SAP (or rSAP?) to work properly. I've never had trouble pairing to the bluetooth module, but the car still insists there is no phone.
After messing with it yesterday and installing SAPSettings, I can hear the speaker of the phone in the car's audio, but no microphone, and it still says "insert phone" in the car's phone menu as apposed to downloading the phone book and letting me dial on the screen.
The phone lists the SAP profile among many others, but if I go into the settings of the car's bluetooth connection, it only lets me choose "Hands Free", with an on/off checkbox. It seems like thats what it sensed was available from the car, and offers nothing else, but I'd like to force SAP instead.
Car: MB E-Class
Phone: Sprint HTC Touch
OS: WM 6.5
Thanks!
I'm going to put the official windows mobile 6.1 on it to see if it makes a difference.
bluetooth is a long list of various profiles
problem is that devices only need to implement 1 or 2 to call themselves
bluetooth devices and no if the maker of the bluetooth stack in both ends
didn't implement a profile you can't force it
I have this problem trying to get my HD to connect to my landrover freelander 2 hse. I can get it to connect to the phone, but cant get the call to play thru cars speakers.
Dont bother with winmo 6.1 or official rom, just doesnt work at then (cant connect).
Only way i can get it to work is with winmo 6.5 (manila 2.5) (profiles must have newer or more stable settings). Only thing i have to do then is to make a call (normally voicemail) turn privacy on, then off again and voila it plays thru speakers.
Downside is i have to do this everytime i start the engine.........
Now that probably doesnt help you much but you will probably find from your car manufacturer that you device is not supported with you cars handsfree bluetooth kit.
the only one fully compatible with the freelander 2 is................. an phone
I've seen the question (and the answers) several times here; But not for freeware versions.
The request is quite simple: Automatically turn on the Bluetooth when HD2 is placed in active carholder, so it recieves power. And BT off again, after removing from power.
Several paid programs can do it with profiles. But I don't need all the profiles, just one nifty little app to do the BT-toggle-at-power-toggle-trick. Bluepower should do the trick, but that doesn't work on HD2 sadly.
I allready placed a shortcut at the todayscreen, but it can be done automatically, so it should be done automatically. (you get the idea? It CAN be done, so it HAS to be done... )
Anyhow: does anyone know of a freeware app that does the trick, turning on BT at power-connected, and off again at power-disconnected?
Thanks in advance!
looking for this too!
fantastic idea, i see no reason for bluetooth to be disabled when connected to a power supply.if anyone can do it xda can!
google this
kixass bluepower
It worked for me , while I still had the Touch Diamond and Touch HD
Haven't tried it on HD2, but, hopefully it will work
I allready found kixass bluepower, but another thread here on XDA says it doesn't work on HD2 due to different Bluetooth methods:

@SMS92: it's the other way around: connect to power = BT on, disconnect = BT off. (Hence power comes from the active carholder, but the audio-signal is connected via BT)
I'm not sure if i understand you correctly but don't you mean ?
Settings > All settings > System > Car kit mode > "Auto connect when in car kit mode" ??
greetz,
Plaspop
No, for that the bluetooth allready has to be on (Or am I mistaken? EDIT: YES!!!! I'm mistaken!!)
I'd like the BT to be off all day, except when I'm in the car. For that's the only place where I use BT. After getting out of the car the BT should be switched off again.
In order to do this automatically the phone needs to know whether I'm in the car. The easiest trigger for that is the power-connection, as I place the phone in an active phone holder (Brodit). This action could then trigger BT to switch on automatically, and removing the phone from the holder (and therefore from the power) should switch BT off again.
(The BT is used to connect to the built-in carkit in the Mazda 6), Power to the phone is supplied via the active carholder, which ONLY gives power, no audio-connection.
EDIT!!! OOOOW WAIT!!!!! YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!
WOW!!!! So simple.....
(Settings > All settings > System > Car kit mode > "Auto connect when in car kit mode")
So no special app needed, no profiles, no reg-changes, just a mere setting.
I LOVE HTC! Soooo much clever things in this HD2!
Just tested: BT off, connect to carpower: BT switched on automatically. Remove from power: BT switches off again. So this works!!!
(I didn't have time to test actually connecting to the car in this modus, but normally it works, so I assume this last bit works too.
You're my hero! (ok, that's a bit exegerated, but you get the idea) THANKS!
EDIT: see post below for last status.... sh*t.....
Ehr...... Sh*t.... My Brodit holder doesn't connect the right pins to trigger the carmode, and therefore the BT doesn't automatically switch on.
My desktop loader uses a converter cable, and that one DOES trigger the carmode
So.... sorry, no solution yet....
Found this in another thread. Could this help you ?

Thanks, but no, that doesnt work on the HD2.
Has something to do with changed Bluetooth system in the HTC models after the touch?
A similar request thread has been started here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667901&goto=newpost
Im following it too, and hope it will lead to development of a cab for this much wanted function.
I don't know how the carmode works, but issn't it possible to edit the registry to activate the carmode when the phone is on any kind of charger, instead of when some pin is connected? Then you would combine two functions witch are already on the phone.
Brodit activation of car kit mode
Has anyone succeeded in getting the Brodit car holder to automatically activate NaviPanel?? I see in other posts that if pin 4 of the micro USB is grounded it auto switches NaviPanel - has anyone else tried this yet?
Hi ppl,
I'm having issues with bluetooth on mytouch4g phone.
To connect it to hands free set I have to every time turn off and then turn on bluetooth on my phone.
Anyone have similar issue?
Is there a setting somewhere to set default device?
Thanks
Do you mean "Hands free mode" or do you mean pairing a stereo BT headset?
With the stock OS -- "Hands free mode" can be set by either 1) starting the Car Dock application, or 2) Using the BT headset phone button or the Genius button to enable speech commands, and saying "Hands Free On" once the phone is ready.
With the stock OS -- pairing of the phone occurs automatically whether the phone or headset is powered up first. Pairing of media (for stereo headsets) will only occur automatically with any degree of regularity -- from experimentation and observation by others, reported on forums like this -- if the phone's BT is powered up =after= the headset. One can manually disable and enable media connectivity after long pressing on the device in the BT settings window, and that will establish the media connection -- but it is probably easier to have a BT power toggle on your home page somewhere.
If neither of these answers the question you were asking, please rephrase it. And of course, for a custom ROM (non-stock OS), ask in the appropriate ROM's thread in the development subforum.
I mean bluetooth at car. I'm able to pair my phone with car and connect with no issues.
If I get into the car with my phone and bt on - it will not establish connection. I have to turn off bt on the phone and turn it back on. Then it will establish connection. It works fine with my old Fuze.
