No USB! Stuck on bootloader! HELP!!! - General Topics

Hi all - here's one for ya:
By trying to unlock my XDA Exec I have managed to get stuck with the bootloader screen (V1.00). In addition to this I now have no USB connection as the connector has come away from the board.
Am I completely f****d now?......or is there a way of autoloading something from the SD card or some other clever way of progressing with this.
Any help much appreciated.

Search for loading from SD card.
Or, close ActiveSync in PC, boot phone into boot loader mode, connect USB and use an ROM flash/upgrade EXE file to do the job.

Cant Flash my Vox! Plz Help

Hi All,
Out of the blue my HTC Vox stopped booting. I mean, it would load to the windows mobile screen and then stay there till eternity. Removing my memory card and SIM also did not help! I then tried the hard reset option.
Even after hard reset it sometimes boots(1 out of 15 times) and when it does...it hangs after 10 to 12 minutes. Still have not put my sim n memory card into the phone.
I tries flashing the ROM using the ARA 1.27 ROM. After it rebooted to the bootloader, the flash utility gave a connection error! It did not connect to ActiveSync and stayed at the bootloader screen.
I still do not know how to flash it successfully.
If anybody can help me out, I'll be extremely grateful!
Thanks
Prateek
take the battery out, put it back.
connect your Vox (USB).
Hold the camera button and turn on your Vox.
you should see a red, blue and green screen (if my memory works as it should) and the computer should recognize the device, though you won't be able to explore it with activesync.
Run the SDA_ApplicationUnlock thingy (if you need to)
now try flashing the device.
If it flashes but after 3% restart, you need to do a CID unlock right before flashing.
hope that helps.
Invalid Vendor ID
Hi MoRkusReX,
Its giving me Invalid Vendor ID. How do I CID unlock it?

first post , download the last file:
Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip
There a Readme file in there, you should read it.
post back where you're done.
No Luck!
Hi MoRkusReX,
Since my phone is not booting into the OS thus I cannot use the UPSL_CID provided in the link.
Only once I have been able to boot into my OS and followed the instructions given in the link. The phone comes to the Linux black screen and then switchers off. Then the ROM Update Utility with which i'm trying to update the ROM gives an error that "cannot connect to the phone".
So, now I need to flash my ROM from the bootloader itself. Have managed to get mtty and connect to the phone. But even trying ResetDevice command, the phone does not boot.
Can you tell me the exact steps to flash a new ROM from the bootloader itself including CID unlocking? Can it be done??
Thanks,
Prateek

yes it can be done.
you don't need to boot to OS, I couldn't either. after the steps from my first post here, run the uspl_116_jockyw.bat file. follow instructions.
that will unlock the CID.
Now the VOXs' screen should be white or so... then you run the ROM update thingy.
Hi..
I connected with the usb and got the bootloader screen.
tried running the SDA unlock program...the button to unlock the phone is grayed out. Cant click on it.
Next tried running uspl_116_jockyw.bat file
..cannot connect to phone and hence copy of haret.exe did not occur and neither did pmemtest run successfully...
What am I doing wrong??
ok..
first steps again..
battery out, back in.
connect USB
CAMERA button + Turn on.
now.. does windows do that USB sound? you know.. "tu du" ?
No sound....using win 2k Nt server edition...
but has detected my phone once on that USB and then allows me to talk to the phone using mtty....as in commands like ResetDevice work on the phone using mtty..
also, cannot get into bootlaoder mode with USB plugged in...
Steps and their results:
Disabled USB connections in activesync
Booted to the bootloader (red and green and Blue screen)
Connected the USB
"USB" displays on the left hand side corner
Now tried unlocking using Apllication unlock...grayed out button...
Tried running USPL bat but stops and says phone not connected when copying haret.exe
Using windows NT server 2003
if the SDA Application unlock button is grayed, of course the USPL won't work.
why "Disabled USB connections in activesync"?
And.. I doubt this is the problem but you should check on an winXP pc, I did it on XP.
No Luck!
Tried the same with USB enabled...same result
basically the thing we need to figure out is why your computer doesn't recognize the device.
the rest is obvious.
when I go to bootloader on my device windows pops up with a message says windows found device "and it's ready to use". like when you cannot every other USB item.
have you tried doing that on an XP system?
Going to do that now....lets hope it works....
Does ur activesync turn green when u connect at bootloader?
Also, I have removed my sim and memory card...thats okay right?
yeah, I removed both of them.
and no, activesync didn't turn green, but Windows recognized the device when I turned it on. turn on the speakers and wait for that winxp "USB connected" sound.
Still No Luck!
Tried doing the same on win xp...
no luck...
it connects to win xp ans says new device found...and ur USB device is now
ready to use...
after that i try application unlock it still gives me grayed out button....
ne suggestions???
Finally....
Finally got it done...
Thanks for all the help....
I managed to cold boot into the system for one time ans then SDA unlocked it and then ran UPSL .... it ran and then balnked out...
then i disconnected the usb before the ROM update utility and unchecked the USB option in active sync...
then i flashed it with the ARA rom...
Seems to be working okay now..will test for a day and see...
thanks a lot

I'm not sure this step was necessary but as long as it worked.. good times.
btw, how did you boot into the system?
kept trying hard reset and repeated booting...( it was booting 1 in 15 times type...)..and one lucky time it didnt hang..so used that window to slip in the SDA unlock and USPL..
thanks ...
you're welcome.

My Kaiser will not boot up ( Tri colour screen)

Hi, i have been reading a few posts regading tri colour screens, but nothing is helping. I can get the device to boot up with mtty, but then then usb port does not work so i am unable to HardSPL the device. I would say that my bootloader is corrupted. Is there another way to flash a new bootloadder without haveing an activesync connection.
Any help with this would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

With a micro sd card!
I have taken the micro SD card out and the sim card, but still nothing
Do you try THIS method?
I had a look but my problem is not with the ROM, I am able to flash any ROM to my device with no problems, but everytime i reboot the device i have to use mtty and type boot to get it to boot.
But then i cannot get the windows to recognise the USB device, the error code is "device could not start"
Is there any other way to flash the bootloader without activesync?
Did You Try Storage Card Methode?

[Q] please help flashing rom via usb

trying to flash my fuze windows 6.1 to exquisite v4.24 and when i go though the steps and get to where its at zero percent and my phone restarts to the red green blue screen it disconnects from the pc and stops the flashing..can anyone please help would appreciate it alot.
none?
does noone have a answer? please let me know how to fix this or what im doing wrong..tried microsd way and it just freezes on loading
Aside from making sure you are flashing the right ROM toy our device, no idea as to what the problem is. Make sure you have a GSM ROM if you are flashing a GSM device or a CDMA ROM for a CDMA device.
Additionally, the way I usually flash is I remove the battery, SIM and microSD. Then I connect the cable to the computer and while I hold the volume down key, I connect the cable to the device and I see the multi-color screen. From there, I run the executable file to flash the device. I have an at&t Fuze, which is a GSM device. I have the ROM in my sig/signature flashed to my device.
I had a similar problem and what I did was I uninstalled and then reinstalled windows mobile device center. Dont know if that will help...
dont work
my computer wont reconize it when its at the 3 color screen....is there anything i should do before i try to flash like anything i need to have on my device for it to work?
To flash ones device(if GSM)
This is what "I" do each time when I flash a custom ROM:
Remove the battery, SIM and microSD
(Using a working USB cable)I connect the USB cable to my device
(Using a working USB port and computer)I hold the device's volume down key while I connect the USB cable to the computer
Run the flashing utility of choice
NOTE If this is the first time you've connected your device in this manner, your computer should detect a new device. If it doesn't then this falls outside of my knowledge as it is difficult for me to troubleshoot your computer from my end.
You could also try to put your nbh file in the root of your SD card, make sure it is named RAPHIMG.NBH, then when you enter bootloader mode the bootloader itself will look for it and try to flash it. It may not be a permanent solution, but it should work.

Brickt phone htchd 2 help!

Ok, so I may have brickt my phone!
Basically I was trying to install Android to get rid of my crappy windows OS. I formatted my card incorrectly instead of FAT32, to FATxl or something, then installed Android on there and used the HD2 Toolkit to install MAGLDR. Upon restarting my phone all I get is the HTC white screen of death. I can get into the USB bootloader thing where I can use my HD2 Toolkit through USB on my computer, but aside from that I can't do anything else.
Did I brick my phone? Is there anything I can do to save it?
Thanks

Can you BOOT a file from a USB stick in bootloader mode?

Can you BOOT into TWRP from bootloader using only a USB stick? Autorun the boot command with the twrp file on the stick somehow?? Ive been searching the internet but not having any luck..:good::good:
Wouldn't this create the same issue as having autorun.inf load something on a Windows PC? I find it hard to believe that many people would be OK with being able to boot to bootloader, pop in a USB, and have something run automatically. Although it would be convenient from an upgrade on the go stand point, it would be a big security risk.
