My Dopod 577W wifi is not working (could not locate any network even though I know it exist) after upgrading the ROM (2.0.11.0) and Radio (02.61.01). The worst thing is that it also didn't work even I tried to flash it back to the previous version.

I set up the 1.13 version of the ROM to my q110. It worked well, but thereafter i got problem with the screen and subsequently turned to the service centre. They said because of it was T-mobile i should set up back previous version of the ROM, which was original version 1.12.00. Otherwise i will have no warranty-repair of my PDA and will have to pay 200$. Main thing is that i didn't make any backup of my previous ROM... And now i can't find any in Internet. Being more exact i found one, but it is on the ftp-server, and i don't have any possibility to connect to the server and download it....
I would ask You all to help me solve this problem. Probably some link to a HTTP-server? Please.....!!!
Ok, simple really, answer the poll and if GPRS DOES work for you post your EXACT radio version and network provider and IE connection settings as a reply below

People with radio 4.1 have working GPRS (edge too? )
and with 4.0 not.
How do I upgrade my radio? Should I flash a rom with radio and then come back to WM6 or somehow separately?
Just flash a rom with radio after flashing WM6.
and then go back to WM6..? could you please point me to rom with right radio? and my device (SPV C600) is rather Qtek 8300 or 8310?

You can actually just upgrade the radio ROM, it wont affect your WM6 OS

You can find it in this forum, search the Tornado thread, few pages back, I just searched for it yesterday. I am only afraid the link to the radio is down due to inactivity. Well, downloading a 30-40MB file which he packed wouldn't take that long right?
I'm posting an updated ROM with it which should address the Audio issues people are experiencing, also some cabs for T9, Comm manager, Task manager and clear storage. So it IS worth flashing the entire ROM again.

my mobile operator is Orange Romania, radio version is 4.1.xx,and my gprs connection it's working.
I have the updated WM6 ROM with the updated Radio. Both GPRS and Edge is working. But sometimes it can not connect to GRPS and I have to restart all the radio components.
Works with:

KPN netherlands.

I have this problem since i tried Thingsonaspring...Lt. Cmdr. Ivan's & JW Rom..
When i select the Network Type Auto (Settings.. Phone.. Band) i can see the
UMTS icon..but it sometimes there is no signal.. it starts searching for signal.. but when i change to GSM.. it is working fine.. i used radio version 1.15 & 1.18..
Please tell me what is the problem.. did i mess with my Radio...plz help.. im aware some other ppl had the same problems too..

My one also same, i am using 1.18. But this is depend on the Network Operator. If the area are full coverage for UMTS, than will show full line in our Uni (U icon or 3G icon), if not full coverage for UMTS, than our Uni will search for better signal (GSM).

i downloaded the jw rom ages ago and found that sometimes i get no signal after a softreset then it works
radio version is not problem
i dont think there is any problem with radio version..
i have flashed my jasjar with most of the roms before.. and it was working fine.. this problem im facing since i used followed thingonaspring instructions before flashing his rom

Im currently living abroad in Germany and have purchased a Kaiser via T-Mobile, branded as MDA Vario III. Well I love the device but my german sucks and the whole OS is in german. Is there anyway I can flash to ROM to get an english version of the OS? If I did this would it still work in Germany via T-Mobile or is there some kind of lock to the current ROM? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yep! Just HardSPL, and then select an English ROM (most are) and flash.
Read the Sticky in this forum for guide lines on how to flash, and common problems and thier solutions.

Go there and READ and READ. (Read the Wiki first). You will find all your solution there. Everything you need explained over there.
I will describe the procedures you will need:
1. Back up your stuff
2. Charge up your phone to 100% and connect to your pc with usb make sure ActiveSyn can see your phone
3. CID or SIM unlock your phone first if it is necessary then.
4. HardSPL your phone (You can find the information in the Wiki)
- If you encounter White Screen Problem, check the HardSPL White Screen
Issue - Solved!
5. Find a Rom that you like
6. Find the radio rom that rom supports
7. Flash the rom
8. Do a HARD RESET when you see the "Tab the screen to setup windows mobile..."
9. Flash the radio rom
10. You are DONE!!!!!!!
As long as it's GSM band, then it should all work. You might have to manually setup the 3G network for Germany on your phone.
Thanks for the feedback! My main concern was not knowing if it would work with my carrier after I do the ROM.
However the 3G network is a BIG deal 3G is soooo much faster than GSM. Is it even possible to manually setup the network afterwards?

you can always setup your 3G network manually afterwards. It's just a different rom version. It's like you install English version of Winxp on your PC instead of the German version. You can still setup your wireless connection for your PC.
Sine you are in Europe, I would suggest you use Dutty's WM6.1 Rom (The bluetooth has a bit of issue - not able to receive file transfer, but he's working on the RTM version with the fix). Dutty's rom is cooked based on the Vodafone rom (He's in England), so I would suppose there should be pre-set 3G setting for Germany as well.

well i found the difficulty in finding the indian rom as well but you can flash other roms still if u want the ro you can mail me i have a backup rom in india but others work as fine
Getting ENergyROm running on INdian Touch Pro

I saw your signature and realised you might be able to help. I have a Touch pro too.
I flashed Energy ROM (the latest Sep 6 release).
After I did so, EDGE stopped working. I am in India too which means that the Touch Pro here has the 7201 processor and not the 7206 processor as is there in the rest of the world. 7201 doesn't support 3G. Max it can handle is EDGE.
In Energyrom, I saw the 3G option (on/off) in Communication Settings. Data connection (on/off) was also there. I could not turn data connection on at all.
I then went back to the HTC India official update that came in around Mar 09 on the HTC India site.
Before flashing Energy Rom I had this version anyway. In this version, the
3G option in comm. settings was never seen.
When I went back to HTC's rom, EDGE didn't work. I couldn't turn data connection on in this ROM. The funny thing is that the processor name had become 7206. I had read about this on another thread that flashing ROMs that are built for 7201 makes the processor name show up wrongly.
I updated rilphone for the 1.14.25.35 radio.
Even that did not help.
Then I again flashed using HTC India mar 09 ROM. This solved the problem.
You seem to have EnergyROM Sep 6 running?? How did you do it? Btw, am I missing any operator specific settings that I need to do. I have an Airtel Mumbai connection. It is now running on Mobile Office (EDGE).

Solution to your Problem
Hey i am from India too
It took me a while to figure out but this is how it works
Energy ROM uses a different version of Connection Manager than other ROMS around here
So u need to set up manually. Its easy
Go to Start>Settings>Connections>Connection and go to the 2nd tab and delete the aircel settings listed there and then go to the first tab and Type the name of your Operator . For eg: "Vodafone" if u use Voadfone
Then switch off the 3G mode since our model doesnt support 3G

Try to setup the manual connections first on EnergyROM. Dont delete the aircell though as deleting that causes some issues sometimes. Let us know if all this worked
