I've searched on this and other sites but can't find an answer for this - how do you disable the volume slider / control on the side of the alpine?
Mine is stuck turning the volume down so even when i turn it up it resets itself to silent after a couple of seconds - quickly drains the battery - any reg hacks?
Thanks in advance
Pete
Found a few of options to solve the volume slider issue.
Install aebutton plus or magic button or (as I've done) do a hard reset.
After the reset the volume slider is back to normal, if i restore my device using a backup the problem re-appears. At the moment I've hard reset again and fully charged the battery, turned the radio / phone off to see how long before the battery runs down - so far its been a couple of days and no sudden battery drain so I guess that some of the software I normally install was causing the initial problem.
could also replace the WAV file with one that has no sound.

Hi,
After seeing the overclocking thread on this forum, I decided to have a go and installed the tornado power control on my unlocked Vodafone v1415, along with appropriate shortcuts to start it automatically at boot.
All seemed well at first, but after setting the speed at very low (132 MHz) to see if it improved battery life, my phone started automatically rebooting, in a loop. I removed / replaced the battery and rebooted, which stopped it looping, but now I just get the home screen and when I unlock the keylock, the phone completely locks up and turns itself off.
I've tried all permutations of hard reset keys (both soft keys held down and a quck press of the power button, all 3 held together, etc) and even tried to get into the bootloader (camera & power ?), but nothing seems to work - whatever I do, the phone boots as normal and then crashes when it loads the tornado power control.
What I need is the equivalent of windows safe mode, where tornado doesn't get started automatically, because I'm sure that if I could uninstall it, all my problems would be fixed.
Anyone have any ideas ?
thanks
jake
Orbit2 - the on/off button at the top is non responsive . It means when my backlight turns off I have to reset the device to use it again. I have disabled the backlight timeout for now,but it is an extra drain on the battery and im worried if the device turns off I will not be able to turn it on again. Any solutions ?
Is this an problem anymore?
Got the same now, an opened the device.
The button is mountet at 4 points, at mine 2 are brocken => no contact, no function...
After being quoted 100quid to fix it, I changed the settings so any button will take the device out of sleep mode. It is not fixed but this way works ok .

I have the same problem but can't find the setting that will allow me to un-sleep my phone with any button.
I use rom: 3LIT3_VIII_Full NLD
I think that these setting has been disabled in the rom.
Is there a register setting?
thanks
I do not know anything about roms.
You can turn off sleep mode in the battery saver I think. But means your battery gets used more quickly . The other way I tried was in the settings where any button will turn off sleep mode. This way was better.
Same problem! Although me being the idiot that I am have just dropped the battery and have no way of turning it back on. Any ideas?? Anyone?
Just plug your charger in press the camera and reset then you should get the spl screen then press the reset to boot into windows. This will only work if you are getting power ie from your charger or usb.

Is your phone led lighting up when plugged in ? If not could be usb not working,if it is could be your camera button knackered to so can't get to the spl screen.
Then plug your phone in then do a hard reset except dont press the send button then you should boot into windows without loosing any data.
i have jellyshot 3.0 with marmite and my recovery is the TWRP ... since a couple of day, it's happening a strange thing, my phone doesn't turn off. i tried from the power menu in the tile ( i have the power key not working problem ), and when it finish to power off it just reboot, sometimes get stuck with screen on. i tried from the recovery too from the reboot section but it has the same behaviour rebooting instead of turning off . the only change i made in this few day was a battery reset charging it while turned off using the guide on this site, and tried button remapper cause i wanted to switch the volume up to a power button, and worked but when i shut down the phone it never really shut down but keep stuck in the power off screen and i had to pullo off battery. Oh i was forgotting ... when i pull off battery and pull it on, it reboot too ... but since i have the power button problem it was a frequent behaviour !!! ... does anyone know how to solve this little problem ???
UP ?
Hi!
I have this bug with my OnePlus One. When I press volume up or down, the usual volume panel doesn't appear and requires a reboot to work again. This happens around two times a day. If I press both up and down buttons, I can turn the phone on vibrating mode and back to normal. Really annoys me to have to reboot phone to change volume level.
Anyone having this bug?

I'm having a similar problem with the sound. It doesn't make the beeping sound when I increase or decrease the volume, so it's difficult to know the volume level unless i'm on a call or open the settings. Also the haptic feedback has stopped working even though it's enabled. Still had the same problem after restarting.
Hi, I started having the strangest issue 2 days ago. Phone model is Samsung Galaxy A50.
I have been unable to unlock my phone once I pressed the lock button or if it went to sleep (screen off).
The only way out of the issue is to restart it by pressing volume down and power for 5 seconds. I put the screen timeout to 10mins (which is the maximum). But no long term solution. Whenever the screen turns dark it stays dark. If a call comes in, the phone vibrates (or ring) but any interaction with the phone is impossible. If I play music, the music continues once the screen is off. The sound can be turned up or down, but it's the only thing that can be done.
While the screen is on, changing the volume via the buttons affects the actual volume of the music, but there is no UI indication that the volume changes, no popup nothing.
So all physical buttons are working correctly.
I have trie "reset parameters", I have tried "reset all data" (backed up everything through Smart Switch). It doesn't change a thing. The phone is reset (still on android 11 though, although I bought it on android 10...) but the issue remains.
Now something very interesting :
Just now, I setup Phone Link for windows 10, so that I am able to see and answer texts and phone calls while at the office. Which works, it sort of defeats the purpose of a "cellular" phone but well...
HOWEVER : while my phone is connected to my desktop through Phone Link. I can lock and unlock at will, change volume and see the UI pop up (via the windows interface or directly on the phone, same behaviour) It's basically fixed. I thought it was fixed for good, so I disconnected my phone from Phone Link. The screen went black as before and there was nothing I could do except reconnect it via Windows 10 (then it immediately starts behaving as usual again...).
My guess is it's definitely software. I just don't understand why a factory reset didn't do the trick...
I wanted to try and reset through the bootloader, but I never managed to effectively get into the bootloader (through volume up and power while the phone is off).
I do not recall making any updates or installing anything just before these symptoms occured. I did install a firmware update that was available after these symptoms started but to no avail
Has anybody seen this before ? Thanks in advance
