Sprite backup is the best. As far as I know, it is the only (correct me if I am wrong) backup software which allow you to restore all of your softwares after new ROM upgrading. I never had problem with this software.

Yup thats right, In my opinion, theres not much point buying a backup program for mobile devices if you cannot restore after a ROM upgrade, thus Sprite is worth the higher price than the other apps

Because downloads are slow as hell at pdamobiz, I'll post this later on the xda-developers FTP.
If somebody could translate, it would be nice *waves to chan*
Update:
I've uploaded them onto the FTP site here.

Where I can download "clean" FINAL AKU3.2?
pdamobiz really do overfill what could be a good rom with junk.
is it all in the ext rom or built into the actual rom itself?
Omg.
Whay a nice rom.
Waiting for uploading on our ftp

In previous roms "Junk-soft" was build into ROM
please upload this rom, because looks incredible
still downloading....will up as soon as it's done and post the ftp link here
as already said, junk was in the ROM last time, I've contacted some people over the pdamobiz to have them release a clean version, if not, I will have a look to see what I can hack together
I'm downloading too. (over 40 hours already) 32 MB so far.

It's always up to you to upgrade your device with other people's ROM or not. If you feel it's full of junks, then just don't upgrade your device or just do it yourself.
hello,
are all the "junk-soft" in the extrom or in the ROM? is it possible to "debranded" the ROM whith making a soft reset after align the screnn? Will all this software (many unusefull for my using) don't install and we can choose afterwards what we want to install then?
sorry for my bad english.
John
Yeah, sorry Kuanchai (and I speak for many people...)
I'm currently using the RUU_Prophet_G3_2151327_AKU23_023021_P16MB_PDAMobiz_v2307 ROM that "is full of junk built into the ROM". I'm not complaining even though it is not 100% to my liking. I thank the people over at PDAMobiz for giving us this ROM and showing us the trick to CID unlock our devices.
I think in our zealousness to tinker constantly with our devices, we have become greedy Uncle SCROOGEs... always asking & asking and forgetting to say thanks.
And thank u Jesterz for notifying the rest of us. Let us have your review ok? Maybe some of our Thai friends can give a breakdown of the info on the site...?
Take it easy...

Hi guys!
Please be calm. First we should say THANKS for the effort, whatever our liking or not.
Then, we could suggest things to improuve. I myself might dislike many of the things included in someone's else cooked ROM, but suggesting to move them to another file and then allowing us to install them "one at a time" from, let's say, an SD card, is not a bitter complain.
BTW, as soon as an easy "ROM kitchen cooking" tool becomes available for Prophet I'm sure there will be no more complains in that matter....
Don't you?
Radio ROM?
does this 3.2 upgrade require a Radio ROM upgrade too?
I'm using Radio 2.30.21, not very happy at this time, since battery depletes at at astonishing rate and my prophet disconnects itself overnight. Are the different versions compatible with the new AKU?
Wich Radio versions are recomended?
Tanks!
Pfff that took long enough.
I've uploaded them onto the FTP site here.
AKU 2.3

AKU 3.2

Thanks, Putra and Looking Glass. Sorry if my previous post might be a little offending. I'm not in the PDAMobiz team but always respect them for their constant effort to make new ROMs for our use and never asked for anything. I also know that all of us here are also pleased to help each other without asking for any reward.
In fact, I also don't like some softwares in the PDAMobiz customized ROM but never complaint that those are junks. I agree that we could suggest things to improve and I think they are welcome any comments or suggestions. I think it would be great if our requests are more friendly. It might take time though to make a new ROM after our suggestions.
By the mean time, if you don't want to use any software in that ROM, just delete their shortcuts from /Windows/Start Menu/Programs. Their existence in your ROM doesn't make any harm to your device. If you have time to learn how to modify ROM image, then you could delete those softwares from the ROM and add any other things in. Then you will get your completely customized ROM.

These 2 new ROMs will downgrade your Radio ROM back to 2.19.21. You could, however, upgrade it back to whatever you like. The developer suggested version 2.20.21 because it's more stable and less battery drained:
http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/Prophet/PDAMobiz_Prophet_G3_RadioRom_v2.20.21.exe
http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/Prophet/PDAMobiz_Prophet_G4_RadioRom_v2.20.21.exe
Please be cautious if you want to upgrade to 3.2 ROM, from the forum, there are still some bugs:
1. The battery is not charged during the sync. You need the wall charge. Someone said soft resetting the device while charging will help.
2. MSN is still not working.
3. A few people said their device hung up when enter the camera.

The above files are on the FTP server, the speeds are very slow from pdamobiz
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Prophet/Prophet-roms/RadioRom/
Thanks
Many thanks for info, will post my findings through the trial...
BTW just cancelled the endless download from the pdamobiz congested site.
;-)
BTW, can anyone confirm what pagepool size these 2 new ROMs use? I glanced the PDAMobiz site, but couldn't find any info.

ROM update question..

HI all,
Im a major noob. I have the Verizon VX 6900 (HTC touch/vogue). My problem is I wanna hack the heck out of it, but I wanna upgrade to Winmo6.1. I had a bad experience with my moto q, where a windows update deleted my contacts. If i were to update my rom from the HTC website, would that same thing happen? If so, can I somehow copy my contacts to a microsd card beforehand?
waiting for your wisdom..

Welcome to the forum
After backup your contacts please READ here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Vogue
You have to back up your contacts before you flash, its not a bug.
ROM stands for read only memory, the easiest way to explain it is that it is like a cd rom. when you flash a new rom its like rewriting a cd, it deletes everything. if you backup your contacts before, you can restore them after.
Thanks
Ok, will do thanks guys

Why not use one of the official or cooked ROM's?
Or you can use this to easily dump a rom ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=238945

When you check the option "EFS Clear", it will DELETE your IMEI and other regional configurations....That's why NEVER should be ticked that option!!
So sorry...! The only way I know to repair the IMEI for your phone is using a "Box"
What can I do? How repair mi IMEI?
This was the ROM that I installed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=934839
Are there other ways to repair without boxes???
Who could have boxes?

Sorry, I don't know another method than using a "box"...Have you searched on Google to see if there any other solution for your problem?
Have you flashed your device before?
the same has happened to me after flashing his rom. but I don't know what a imei is. I found dermann's blog and he's really upset over this.
dermann blog:
It’s a sad and heavy day for me today. after just a few days of a public release of my i637 rom, which is know at it’s end. i say goodbye to the samsung custom rom world.
After just a few days, i removed my i637 rom from XDA’s site and Hotfile download site. It unfortunately turns out that my rom and/or flashing steps, erase your phones IMEI number from it’s software. leaving you with no choice but to use the rom which is currently on the phone. I, myself have tried number of times to flash back to AT&T’s Official Rom without success. I’d like to thank XDA’s user Mairo lopez for finding this major problem, bringing it to my attention so that the damage that has already been done is minimal and few.
I am so very sorry for those that this affects. I have asked XDA Mod “Spiaate” to close the thread and my XDA account. I am ashamed that this problem slipped though my fingers, I feel like I shouldn’t be aloud to be apart of the great community which is xda-developers anymore.
The changing of an IMEI number is illegal and i will not make, distribute and host any rom that does so.
Once again, my apologies for such a careless mistake.
end:
please Spiaate don't close dermann's account here. it was an honest mistake.
i've been doing a little searching. and from what i've read at a site called zn520.com. the only thing that was wrong with his rom wasn't the rom at all. it was the flashing instructions.
what it should have been was
"step 8. in the Download Mode area, only! check the "PDA" box."
i sure hope he comes back and finishes the rom. he does good work.

Yes indeed as I have 'moved on' to a new Windows Phone 7 device, but have known Dermann since the ole BJI days...

How to test any custom rom before flashing

Hello Friends,
I want to know that Is there any way to test custom roms before flashing.
Is there any way to test Custom Rom on Windows?
Please help me ..
No you can't test a custom rom for a specific device on your computer. No way to do this unless you find a working emulator for that but I am sure that you can't.
If you just want to test the functionality of the ROM itself, you could maybe find a x86 image which you can install on your computer.
The best practice for testing a custom rom is making a full nandroid backup and just flash the ROM. Then you can just revert back to the ROM you were before you flashed the new one.
Thanx for your reply friend.
Are there specific emulators for every devices or smartphone brands?

As far as I know not, you have to do that on a real device, but if you want to emulate AOSP android, you can try out GenyMotion, BlueStacks or Andy.
Anyways, I really recommend you to backup using your recovery and just flash the rom you want to test.
