Change Keyboard Layout (WM5 / WM6)

Hi all!
Does anybody now how I could change the Keyboard layout on my UK XDA to an German Layout (QWERTZ)?
Is there maybe also a way to extend the dictionary with german words?

about the dic then it should learn words and start sugesting often used words which in your case would be german

i have a big problem with t9 portuguese. i have installed on my tornado (qtek8300) wm6 recooked by nitrogen, beautiful rom, thanks nitro to realive my phone, in text sms i only have option t9 english, but i want t9 portuguese, i have install t9 portuguese cab, but english option desapear, only have portuguese and i select portuguese t9 and dont work! only work numbers, i have try to copy manualy t9portugueseldb.dll to windows and modify registry but is the same problem, the option is there but only work numbers! if i uinstall t9 portuguese, english t9 work again. please anyone can try to install t9 portuguese and see if it work?? sory my bad english. thanks

This is an answer I found for Spanish.
The problem is that installing a language cab file overwrites the registry entry; not updating it.
So now you've got to go back and make it multilanguage, manually.

i do exactlly like you say, but dont work! i copy manually T9ImesRes.dll.0816.mui and T9portugueseLdb.dll to /windows, set new values with registry, the language portuguese appears in text sms but dont work!i press keys and do a sound like error! only engish works! please can you try it with the portuguese T9 and see it work?

For me, I used it to add Spanish input, but didn't change localisation, so everything else still in English.
Spanish T9 example:
* Extract T9SpanishLdb.dll and T9ImeRes.Dll040a.mui from t9_tornado.rar to \Windows
* [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\T9 Input Method\LDBs], add string value '040a' with data 'T9SpanishLdb.dll'
* [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\T9 Input Method\MUI\Languages], add '040a' to the list of 'Available', so the data will be '0409,040a' (or whatever your phone uses.. just add the one for the language you're installing)

Adding other languages to a Raphael...

As i come from Denmark i would like to add danish T9 dictionary to my Raphael. Anyone know how to do so and where to get the dictionary itself?
Also i would like to add the danish keyboard layout too.
Well, it seems the problem was a no issue. I just needed the set the correct current language in the registry. So tnx but no tnx as noone replied.

htc_ime with more prediction languages?

I installed the htc_ime.apk. The hero keyboard is just amazing. The problem that I face like many many other users is that I write in French and German and text prediction is only available in English. Would anyone be able to provide the hero keyboard with more prediction languages? I believe that would help a lot of people! Many thanks!

If your ROM supports French and German you can set the XT9 language to those with a trick. First set your keyboard language and the system language to english, reboot, then set system language to french (or whatever) and reboot again, now your XT9 is in french. This works for Dutch in Cyanogen 3.6.8.
If you want to do it easier flash Smartphone France firmware, it has Dutch, German, French, English and Spanish XT9 and you can select the input lang from the keyboard settings.

Actually I have the normal swiss cupcake and I have installed the HTC_ime. The xt9 language change works indeed when changing phone's language, even without restart. But I would like to be able to change xt9 language without changing phone's language. any ways to do that without loading another firmware?

is anyone able to bring this modification?

I'd also love this feature. I'm from Spain, but I like my phone in English (computers, and whatever), because of the poor quality and completeness of the translations. I'd love to be able to get back Spanish XT9

In the German "Telephone Keyboard" Mode, the letters ü/Ü, ä/Ä, ö/Ö doesn't exist...
Could someone help me please?
In the HERO Roms, they work fine...

I have the same issues, I live, in the US, speak english, like my phones, and everything in english, except, most of my texts are in spanish,
I don't want to have my whole phone in spanish, so just that I could write a text message, windows phones have this feature with no problems,
also better keyboard has it, but, I found out I like HTC keyboard better

Swype Switching Qwerty To Azerty keyboards!

Hey guys
I'm from Belgium. We speak dutch language but we use an "azerty" keyboard like french people.
So, I opened a swype beta .apk file, that included various languages including Dutch and French, with 7Zip.
First method I tried whas renaming a couple of files in the "assets/keyboards" folder.
That allowed me to see an "azerty" keyboard lay-out on my screen when selecting Dutch language.
I then opened "assets/files" folder. I then edited the SwypeScreen.ini file and modified the MainKeyboardNameLS into "Azerty-LS". I did the same with MainKeyboardNamePT but I typed "Azerty-PT".
Ok, resigned the file, installed on my phone perfect! I've got an azerty keyboard with Dutch dictionary. I've then tried to type which didn't worked out that well.
It still had Qwerty configuratie. So when I typed "A" it actually typed "Q".
I then thought: Hey! What if I just rename the Dutch dictionary to French?
Ok, I renamed the dutch dictionary for French use with the azerty keyboard.
Resigned the file, installed on my phone. Bollocks... French language now used the same Qwerty keyboard as the Dutch language.
So my conclusions are that the touch lay-out of the keyboard is related with that dictionary file!
Is it possible to edit the file somehow? The dictionary is called Dutch.zdb.le
I have absolutely no idea what file extension that is or with what program I have to edit it.
I though a dictionary is a text file most of the time so I tried to open it with "Notepad". But I got a load of text with squares ??
I hope my problem is clear for you guys!

I've been editing swype alot for the past weeks but I've never been able to edit the self dictionary file!
I think that we can agree on, that the dictionary file itself has the settings for the keyboard layout. As far as I know, in those versions I've seen with dutch, Azerty does come up when you choose to use the Dutch dictionary.
Which version are you trying to edit? 1.60 or 1.54?

I got 1.61 Swype, butthe Dutch option gives me a qwerty layout

If someone could post the dictionary file, I'll be glad to take a look.

I found 3 files on my Samsung galaxy S
-system/app/Swype.apk
-system/app/Swype.odex
-system/lib/libSwypeCore.so
which one of these would you be needing?
