Sim Contacts in Dialup Lookup - Palm Treo 750

Hi,
I have explored the whole registry but couldn't find a way to hide sim contacts from aprearing in today's Dial up look up. Anyone has any idea how to hide sim contacts from appearing in Dial up look up?
I have already made changes in reg for contacts so now in my contacts i don't see sim contacts but still appear in Dial up look up.

?
Found an answer here:
http://forum.mypdacafe.com/viewtopic.php?t=9593&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=250
BUT I cant seem to get it working, anyone had success?

Hi
That Solution only works for contacts, i have been using it since day one, but somehow i'm unable to find any registry setting to hide sim contacts in dialup lookup.
But that registry change should work for contacts.

Sim Contact iDisable from my contact

Hi,
When I view my contact, I have first my phone contacts followed by my sim contacts.
I there a way so that I only have my phone contacts in my contact?
Thanks in advance.

I would also very much be interested to learn how to disable the display of SIM contacts by the phone's Today plugin. I looked at the registry quickly but nothing seems intuitive about disabling this. I was told in other forums that this is not possible. Any confirmation on this or ideas?
Has anyone been able to disable the showing of SIM contacts in the Today quick dial plugin? Also, is there a way to show names by First name, Last name in this plugin instead of the other way around?
Thanks.

Contacts Disappeared

I recently installed WM6.Crossbow.WWE.HTC.Wizard.v5.2.660. Had no problems and then all of a sudden my contacts disappeared. Caller id works and recieved sms shows contacts name.. have i changed a setting to not show sim contacts? Is there a setting to do that?? any help would b great
Well, first of all, when installing a new ROM everything in the phone memory gets wiped, including contacts, but you already know that.
Regarding contacts on your SIM, that is what I think you are referring, they are not touched, but most cooked ROMs have a setting in the reg to hide those contacts.
You have 2 options in here:
1- Edit your registry, go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone. Look for the key ShowSim, it should have a 0, change it to 1. With this you Sim contacts will show in your contact app.
2- This is the most effective solution, however. Go to the Sim Manager app in programs. There you will find all your Sim contacts. Tap Menu, Select all, Menu again, save to contacts. With this you will have a more flexible way to manage them.
Cheers.
I disagree, i've tried almost every rom on XDA for wizard since june 06 and almost everyone shows sim contacts as a default.

Contacts Application problem

Hi, i got a "problem" with the contacts application.
It shows my SIM contacts. I have copied all SIM contacts to my device, so i can put pictures and set other information about my contacts. But now the contact application shows the SIM contacts and the DEVICE contacts..so basically i see the same contact twice.
Does any1 know how to fix this, without deleting the contacts from the SIM card ofcourse?
Thanks
no one willing to help?
See my post on contact sorting ...
I haven't tried myself, but try to set
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSIM
to 0
and let us know if it works.
edit: I checked and the value exists and is currently set to 1 (show sim contact)

Hide sim contacts? they keep coming back...

I have a Ipaq 514 with wm 6.0 for a couple of days now and allready found a bug which really annoys me...
I can not seem to keep my sim contacts hidden, i tried:
settings -> phone -> call options -> Show SIM contacts (unchecked)
registry editor:
HKCU>ControlPanel>Phone>
Set Dword Value "ShowSIM to 0" if does not have dword value create it.
This both works, but only for a while, when i reboot the device or even when i check my email, the sim contacts show up again
For my Tytn II i have a cab file: KaiserSimFix.cab that hides the contacts.
Is there a simmular solution for smartphones?
Delete the SIM contacts and store them on the mobile? I have too many contacts with multiple numbers to store on SIM anyways. Back them up regularly and sync it with AS.
Also, ensure that you are setting the registry key, waiting about 20s and then soft resetting for it to stick.

Thanks but i dont want to delete them from my sim, i allways put my contact both on sim and in the phone to sync with outlook.
Also i tried resetting after the registry tweak but that doesnt make any differance.
But is this a common thing on smartphones or is it just my ipaq? because i also have a old wizard with wm6.0 that doesnt have that problem...

Remove SIM contacts from SMS address bar?

I have managed to get rid of the sim contacts from the contacts list. However when I create a new SMS it brings up the sim contacts as well as the phone book which is really annoying. Does anyone know how to solve this?
Afraid not sorry, but I'd be interested to hear how you managed to get rid of the sim contacts from the contact list
I've tried editing the reg. and AC 3.2 but it still dosen't work
Registry settings works only until reboot for me :-(
try this little cab:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1769534&postcount=2
this is the only thing that survives a reset
it's called kaisersimfix, but it'll work just fine on any device
Thanks, it works. (so far)
Excellent will give that a go also, have been trying everything with this one
