Hi,
Does anyone know how to find out the bluetooth hardware address under Windows Mobile 5? it was a simple case with WM2003SE however I can't find it anywhere in WM5!
Thanks,
Johnny
I've written a tutorial on this at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1382&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
this should work otherwise

Anyone knows if any device of software available for the device to be able to send and receive fax on WM5 & WM6?
dont the 2003 apps work anymore?
I think not possible. Truefax the faxing software for WM 2003 does not work anymore with WM 5 / 6
Regards
Truefax doesn't work with WM5 or WM6. Can anyone suggest any solutions or is there any possibility that this can be done??

I've answered this question several times (use the forum search engine): no, currently, no PPC-based software is able to do this. You need to use an external faxing service like eFax.
Hi all,
I have to setup a bunch of windows HTC mobile phones remotely, and talking the users thru the steps and loading the correct software is extremely frustrating and time consuming.
I do have remote access to their PC's, so ideally it would be great to just remote the PC and see their device that is attached via USB to the PC.
Does anyone know if there is some software that will allow me to remote the PDA and take control from a PC?
Thanks in advance.
my mobiler is a freeware app that does exactly that.
http://www.mymobiler.com/
if you have to install it on many mobiles you may want to just cook your own rom with the software you want already built into it.
there is a program called my mobilizer... I think. while you have control of the customers computer, have them connect the device then install the program. I use this when im setting up my phone. so much easier.
ill try to get a link soon

Thanks guys, My Mobiler looks perfect going to test it now on my own device.
If you can remote to thier PCs, use the MS powertoy available for mobiles. Found here:

CE Remote Display. Just make sure all your users with PDAs have it installed on thier PC and the PDA. Lets you "drive" the PDA while it's connected via USB (or bluetooth and wireless I think but have never used those).

Then, it won't work, sorry.
I would like to use my MDA vario iii as a bluetooth modem to access the internet from my Ameo (htc Athena). Is this possible?
They are both running stock t-mobile WM6 ROMs. I knew how to do this in WM5 using Dial up networking, but have since upgraded the Ameo to WM6 and can't find a way.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

read my related articles in the Wiki on hacking BT DUN into WM5 AKU3 / WM6+
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/old_blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2121&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
I have intalled the WM6_BT_DUN.cab on both phones but nothing seems to have changed. I have read the article but couldn't figure out how to actually implement it. Could you let me know how to set the connection up please.

Well, then, look around for a cooked ROM that also has DUN. I'm not sure whether there are any - hopefully there is.
hey guys, im really sorry but i dont know where to post this first. so i'll just start here.
im after some info or/and advice about my ipaq hx4700. now i know this model is pretty outdated... but i like it .
now my problem is that some of the software i am trying to use only works with Microsoft bluetooth stack.. but the ipaq hx4700 comes with built in Widcomm drivers. is there anyway that the widcomm drivers can be replaced with the microsoft ones? i understand there may be conflicts along the way,but is it possible? maybe via editing registry? or if not... are there any apps/software/drivers to mimic the microsft bt stack? maybe progrmmed visual studio??
ive tried every rom i could get my hands on.. from windows mobile 03/05/06/6.1/6.5 most of them are 'cooked' roms, but still wrong divers. good OS tho. i have read a few pages on 't'internet' where ppl have replaced micosoft drivers with the widcomm drivers via registry + installing the DLL files, but im not sure on how to reverse the situation with the appropriate drivers. i can do this operation in Windows XP but not really familier with CE. ive also read that you can extract the ROM and change part of the OEM section, then rebuild and flash. i have all the software and hardware for such operations, but for some reason i cannot extract any of the ROMs :/
Any help or advice would be really great.
Thanks.

Hello people!
In the forum for developers there is an old thread about software called “QuickGPS Lite” for Windows Mobile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866641
Can someone tell me if this program supposed to work on iPAQ rx5915 ? I’ve tried different folders to save downloaded satellite data to, but software seems not to make any difference. iPAQ rx5915 has a SiRFstarIII chipset.
Is there ANY way to make my iPAQ 5915 download satellite data over the web? Because otherwise GPS fix is very slow on iPAQ 5915. I can’t afford a new GPS now but do need one.
Any help, please?
