Hi There,
Is there a way to tell WM5 mobile how to connect using different connection profiles? I have WiFi and GPRS connections defined and would like the phone/WM5 to try and connect in the following order when IE tries to open a website:
1) Try and use the Home WiFi connection
2) Try and use the Work WiFi connection
3) Try and find an open WiFi connection in the neighbourhood
4) And lastly, try to connect via GPRS
Is this possible at all?
Cheers,
Steven

Please anyone: I can't connect anymore to internet via activesync when my jamin (prophet) is connected to my laptop, and my laptop to the net.
In other words, any program requiring a net connection (internet explorer, weather channels, newsland...) would automatically launch GPRS connection instead of "using" the already present activesync-internet connection.
Hope I was clear enough, and thank you for any help.
you pick network connection in connection settings
Thanks, it works. Should have found it myself...

Is it possible to set preferred connection when going online? Is there a setting that tells the phone to use Wi-Fi when possible, and just use GPRS when no other connection is availible.
That works as standard. If it detects a wifi connection it will always use that first, and only use GPRS/3G/HSDPA if the wifi connection is off.
really?
Hi,
My TC seems to use 3G connection (as seen through Spb GPRS Monitor) although I am connected via WIFI. How can I avoid that so as to use 3G only for phone, or when I am out of wifi for data?
Cheers,

Does anyone know how to configure the remote desktop in WM6 to connect through GPRS. I have managed to get it to connect through a USB cable no problem but when I disconnect the cable and try it through GPRS it just says no connection and doesnt even try to connect to GPRS.
Any help appreciated.
Any specific program that you're using?
yeh would be good to know if this is possible i used Remote Desktop Mobile but all i can get is it to connect over wifi with the computer on that network, never over a data connection.
Try opening up internet explorer mobile first, let that connect to the internet for you through gprs and then run the remote desktop application.
how should i set my wifi settings? i try to connect at home trough the modem provided by my isp (alice Gate 2+ wifi) it dosen't work but with my laptop i just insert the WPA then i'm on!

To diagnose what the problem is, I would first remove wpa and leave the network open. If you can connect at this point, it means wifi on your mobile device is working propertly, so you can continue with the wpa (make sure its not wpa2)
thx for the advise
Hi,
At my university they have WiFi in all the buildings.
I can connect to the modem without a problem, but to have acces to the internet I have to connect through VPN otherwise it won't let me browse the web.
So I go to Settings>connections>VPN and I put all the data in it like pptp, username, pass and server, I don't know what I have to chose for 'Make connection from (internet, work, mss, wap, ipaq wap)... and Make connection with(internet, work, mss, wap, ipaq wap)..."
My question is how can I activate that VPN setting?
I connect to wifi but there is no such thing as launching the vpn settings in it...
Plz help, thx!
