Alreader settings

Im trying to set up UC on my Raph, i read quite a bit using Alreader.
I dont think it stores any settings in the registry so im guessing they're stored in one of the .ini files

of course, someone will say booo ubook is better, maybe, but it is MUCH slower and MUCH heavier...and FAR less configurable. alreader is VERY compact program with massive amount of options, hyphenation etc(look inside rar).
it has profiles, that can be switched with...BUTTON - in fact, VERY much things can be mapped to buttons..
btw, there's NOTHING better to read .doc files(lol @ ubook in that matter, just LOL) - awesome loading times.

it is able to use many codepages, so far i tested russian, polish, english ebooks.

what's VERY interestin that it can handle html pages too:
imo, it is best thing you can use in ROM kitchens.

only thing is for sure: it may take some time to get around options. some of them are available when file is opened(it may be strange for someone).
i can recommend this soft.
btw, for everyone, that is using apps operating with text - glyphcache set to 131072 or MORE can really speed up performance of programms, not sad 8192, 32768, just more - >131072 can be used. value is in bytes, so it is not strain for system...

WirelessControl v.1.1 - Sliding Panel Plugin (WM6.1)

Today, I've released version 1.1 of my app - WirelessControl. Previous version was avalible only for pole, today I've added support for english language.
This app ads to Sliding Panel this functionality:
-turning wifi on/off
-turning bluetooth on/off/visible
-turning phone on/off
-define macros - with that, you can with one button do various operations like turning wifi on, then turning on bluetooth visibility, turning off phone module and more!

To run, you must install .NET CF 3.5 and unlock the device (with SDA Unlock or similar app).
Program will work only when it's installed on main memory. If you install it on storage card, Sliding Panel wont run WirelessControl.
After instaling from cab, a window will apear, choose where WirelessControl will be added .
I've tested it only on Samsung SGH-i600, so it may not work on others, but who knows

I forgot about one important thing - don't use CHome Configurator to modify this panel becous it can damage it's structure, and after that, adding or deleting macros wont work!

Yes, your right. This program is designed to run only from main memory. From storage card it won't work, becouse the shortcuts from Sliding Panel are always targeting to main mem.

[Q] Why isn't Google Talk working? The application starts, but then closes itself.

Well, I had the same problem, and I suspected memory as well, since I have been getting the low memory error for a few days now.
I uninstalled flash, which takes an enormous amount of space! 12 MB. But I also changed the Gmail policy for syncing. I had few very large folders set to sync 7 days worth, and one of those had a ton of inline images. I actually think that is what was causing the trouble, but I am not certain.
Either way, I freed up enough memory so that GTalk could turn on. I guess that sucker needs space, too! I wish more apps would use the install to SD card option. Especially giant ones, like Yahoo Fantasy Football (another 12MB one).
Oh well, I hope that helps.
P.S. I am on an original Droid running Froyo.

For me was the memory problem. I"ve uninstalled a 20 mb. prg and that solved the problem for me. I also needed to reboot my device after so the temp files will be erased along to. Now i have like 30 - 35 mb. free on the phone memory.

I've got a problem with memory on Omnia 7 - 7720. See bellow:
With System View: Total RAM 481 Mb - Free RAM 475 Mb - Free Storage 268 Mb
With Zune: 7.89 Gb used - 0 Free !!!
What is the "Free storage" ?
How I can view the 7.89 Gb memory used ? I only have a few photos, no MP3 at all, and some apps. Exists an application ?
Other questions, the apps from the marketplace (XBL and apps) when they were installed, what is the kind of memory will be used (the 8Gb storage) ?

There's no app to map storage usage - apps don't have the required capability to access the filesystem. However, Zune will tell you what your phone's storge is used by, in various broad categories.
As for what could be using up your 8 gigs, there are a few possibilities.
You say you have no MP3s (I assume you mean no audio files of any kind) and only a few photos. What about videos? Those tend to be big. How about documents?
How much email do you sync to the phone? My work inbox is nearly 5GB, and if I synced all my email accounts fully to the phone (instead of only select folders and only the last two weeks of mail) I'd run out badly.
Do you have a lot of games or other apps that have big downloads installed? Apps are installed into the phone's storage, same as any other files.
Do you have a lot of app data, such as maps for a navigation app or audio clips from a sound recorder?

I have a lot of apps, but not to reach 8 Gb (a big app such a great game is about 120 Mb)! 50 Mb videos, and my mailbox is limited at 160 MB (Exchange quota).
But I saw in another post that a failed sync could affect the storage.
Another example, I bought Navigon, 2,3 Gb MAPS content, but the download failed 1 times, and the software relaunch it. I think the first downloaded datas (failed) are stored in somewhere TEMP folder.
I think, a kind of CCleaner could solve my problem !
But what can I do now ?

I have 0% reserved space and I have no details on Zune memory bar usage...

Well, if you want to reclaim the space for sure, you'll need to do a hard reset. The problem is that you'll lose a lot of data that can't be backed up, like game progress and SMS history.
You can try first just deleting all Zune data. First sync everything from the phone to Zune, then use Sync Settings (there's a button, "View Sync Options", to go right there) and press "Erase All Content". See how much space this gives you back, then sync the content you want on the phone back to it.

Description / Reasoning
Anyone who installs a lot of apps will soon find their SDCard cluttered with strange directories that don't seem to relate to any app you know. You could just remove them all, but how do you know which directories are from apps you are still using, and might contain some important data?
Since the sdcard filesystem lacks ownership info, there's really no easy way of knowing which app to blame. This app is my approach to the problem.
Basically the app lets you monitor any chosen directory for changes, and when a new file or directory is created, it checks which app is currently visible to the user, and saves this information in a database. This way, next time some app leaves an obscure directory rotting on your sdcard, you will know exactly which app to blame.
Why should you care?
Actually, you probably shouldn't. The extra bits of data often don't take any significant space on your memory card. However, it irritates me, and this app gives me a bit more of a sense of control. The XDA forum is probably the best place for me to post this app, since I know there are at least a few other like-minded people here who care about tweaking little things like these
Battery usage
The app's background process uses the kernel's inotify feature to catch changes in the filesystem, and thus uses virtually no processing power, and will not drain your battery.
Reliability
There are essentially two ways for an app to run a background service; as a background service, and as a background service with a notification icon. My app supports both ways, but the default is to run without a notification icon.
I am still unsure if android lets the service run reliably enough without the notification icon, so if you think you're missing file changes, I'd love to hear about it. In any case, the notification icon can be enabled in the settings and should help with the issue (should there be an issue).
