Music to your BT headset - General Topics

Hi all,
BlueMusic is a software that will allow you to listen to music played on your PocketPC with your Bluetooth headsets. It's now easy to listen to your MP3s and many other audio formats, wherever you are with your Wireless Bluetooth Headset. The software is capable of controlling the voice routing. Not only the speaker sound is routed, but also the microphone input. Now you can use your Bluetooth Headset together with Voice Over IP (VoIP) software installed on your device. This software also works with Skype.
Note: this software was created for pocket pc's with windows mobile 2005. pocket pc 2003 wont work with BlueMusic. We might add the support for 2003 in later versions.
Even if your headset does not support it the software will add this feature. Use it for Voip apps or to record notes directly from your bt headset!!

Bluetooth music headphones

Hi Guys,
I have been on the search to find a bluetooth headphone that will allow you to listen to music through bluetooth on your I-mate/XDA 2 etc.
I came accross the Sonorix OBH-0100.
Site:http://www.sonorix.com/eng/sono_product_obh0100.html
Review:http://www.worldofppc.com/HWTests/openbt2.htm
I sent an e-mail to the company asking whether this set would work with Pocket PC (XDA 2). They replied back saying that current pocket pc's would need a A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile) to be able to use your bluetooth headphones to listen to music from your device.
Does anyone know how we could go about adding this extra bluetooth feature.
Im sure that alot of you would like this option / accessory. So if anyone could help that would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi, well done on finding the BT headphones, I've been trying to find something like this for a while...
first, on other parts of this site there are links to the following place:
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
This guy is busy writing BT software for the XDA to fill in the shortfalls, and slowly including more profiles into his BT tools, He may be able to help with the profile problem for the XDA...
Also, are they actually selling these units yet? The URL you supplied only seems to supply 'sample' sets for traders, I would like to know where it is being sold, and if not when it is being released if the info is available..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6816&highlight=bluetooth+stereo
people say that the quality is horrible if it worked
Hmm I dunno, maybe it is possible to send the audio across the BT link compressed (maybe MP3 like) and do the decompression back into audio locally, this would possibly make it possible to send resonable quality over the BT link bitrate (I think it's about 700k).
Their website claims to have reached CD quality audio.
yeah suppose you could do that but it would require
a uncompression in the head set
it would be possible of cause but from that guy who tried it
it may require more then just a std profile
Yes, a special profile is required as mentioned in the first post, apparently it is an advanced audio digital profile (a2dp), but no hand held units have it yet, we were hoping someone may be able to write profile support for the XDA...
I sent an e-mail to Tobias at Pocket Bluetooth tools about these particular headphones and he replied that he has no ordered the headphones and will work on the A2DP profile as soon as he recieves the headphones.
Hope something good comes out of this.
Will keep you updated 8)
Great news, now we only need to sit back and wait.
I had a look at the site but they only seem to be selling trader samples? Do we know where these items can be bought yet and how much? if not do we know a release date?
No, they havent mentioned anything about a release date but I have heard that many people have ordered the trade samples to test them out.
I think trade samples is the ony way you can buy for the time being ...$220 is the price as I remember and this excludes delivery and tax that you might have to pay.
But I have to admit they look very cool and if Tobias can solve this problem soon, I would certainly order one for myself.
BT audio transport
Hi folks,
I'm on the search for BT headset that also plays back the audio output of my MDA II (e.g. direction info of tomtom nav 3 ...)ยด. When I found this thread I thought that's it, but there is now follow up after Apr. 24th.
Any news yet?
Still no news!?!?!?!
:x
what you need is a bluetooth profile which have support for
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
ms really dont like bluetooth all that much and their stack lack most bluetooth profiles
maybe the latest vidcomm stack support it
more about bluetooth profiles
http://www.palowireless.com/infotooth/tutorial/profiles.asp
maybe you should look into this product
http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT420EX.htm
but some guy in the forum had one for test and said the phone quality was pretty poor

OK guys!
A short review has been posted here:-

From another thread Pocket Bluetooth Tools doesn't work very well with iPHONO bluetooth headphone and the digital Bluespoon bluetooth headset. However, it creates a non-dynamic serial port and enables printing from the O2 XDA II to HP 450CBi bluetooth portable printer.

BlueTune BT Hack/Tool

Has anyone seen this new tool that hacks the SmartPhone MS BT to allow audio through BT Headset in Mono only.
I wonder if this would work on the PPC-PE MS BT Stack? Is there a big difference between MS SmartPhone and MS PPC-PE BT Stacks?
Man would I love to be able to use this on my JAM to listen to Audible audio books.
See link: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=203212[/url]
Anyone know any more about this???
It comes with the source code, why not just download the Pocket PC SDK and recompile it?
 err, I wouldnt know where to start mate!

TekSoft: "the MS BT stack can not be hacked to enable flawless call recording"

TekSoft: "the MS BT stack can not be hacked to enable flawless call recording"
TekSoft, one of the most excellent newcomers to the Windows Mobile developer scene but already being Bluetooth experts (see for example their excellent BlueMouse and BlueMusic applications), have just announced in THIS thread that it's, unfortunately, not possible to "hack" the Microsoft Bluetooth implementation of Windows Mobile to "capture" speech packets and record them:
"We had another attempt of making PhoneREC possible - by intercepting the voice flowing through the BT driver when a Bluetooth headset is connected:
1) when a call is established, the software would have enabled voice routing to Bluetooth headset
2) if a headset was not present, it would have been emulated (to be able to use the device without headsets with phonerec too)
3) voice data over Bluetooth would have been in the form of SCO packets
4) our software would have intercepted the SCO packets, extract the voice data, record it to a file, and play it on the device's speaker (so no need of using the headset to hear the other party in the call)
Unfortunately this failed too, as the SCO packets are handled in the hardware, so we found no way of capturing those from a software program.
The only remaining option is to use a custom made wired headset with PhoneREC. This works and assures high fidelity sound for both parties, but the phoneREC user can only record the phone call by using the special wired headset."
This is certainly very bad news for anyone not having a call recording-capable model.
For the time being, you have only few choices if you want to record your phone conversations. These are as follows:
If you want to stay with Pocket PC's, go for either the Gigabyte gSmart. According to the user comments HERE, the O2 Atom Exec and, HERE, the Asus P525 and P535 are also call recording-enabled. Unfortunately, the availability of (some of) these models can be restricted (for example, it's pretty hard to get the gSmart in the non-Asian / Australian region and when it's available at all - through, for example, ordering via Expansys -, it is pretty expensive.)
If you prefer MS Smartphones (in the Windows Mobile 6 parlance, WM6 Standard devices) or, are ready for returning to the two-device approach (one for phone calls and basic stuff like, say, playing emulated games via SmartGear / MasterAll's emulators or quickly browsing the Web via Opera Mobile or Opera Mini, another for anything other requiring a decent Pocket PC or Smartphone), with the HTC Oxygen (HTC s310). I'm absolutely sure it DOES support call recording - it makes excellent recordings, even when a BT headset is used. Note that I have an Orange rebranded Oxygen localized to Central-Eastern Europe (I've bought mine from a Slovakian guy to keep the costs down and it has Polish / Slovakian / Hungarian localization), SPV C100. However, I don't think the original HTC Oxygen wouldn't support call recording and it's just because the given countries' allowing for call recording that my Oxygen supports it. (To make sure HTC supports it in the "basic", non-localized models, I couldn't reflash it to a generic HTC ROM discussed HERE because there are no CID unlocking solutions for the model.)
Note that some? many? other Smartphone models do NOT support call recording. One of them, unfortunately, is the HTC Vox (s710), which is by far the best Smartphone available today. It does not, I repeat, NOT support recording the other party and yes, I've tested this VERY thoroughly.
If you don't want to get the above-listed PPC / Smartphone models but is ready to keep a non-Windows Mobile phone with you, you may want to read for example THIS article on the Symbian alternatives and what call recorder applications the platform has. Note that UIQ-based Sony-Ericsson phones, according to this thread, aren't capable of recording calls, only Nokia models. Also note that it's not with ALL Nokia models that you can get rid of the constant beeping.
If Symbian isn't your favorite, you may want to stick to "dumb" phones like the (Sony-)Ericsson t610/t618 (and, probably, later models). If you assign the call recording functionality to be started by quickly pushing the joystick to the left, you can easily emulate the (missing) auto-recording functionality. Unfortunately, the t610 doesn't support saving the other party's number / name along with the recording, unlike the call recording-capable predecessors of the t610. An example of the latter are the t68(i) and the, now, seven-year-old r520m. Note that the latter only supports recording one party and the former, while it stores both the timestamp and the other party's identity, doesn't let for transferring these recordings to anything via a cabled / IR / BT connection - that is, the recordings must be played back on the t68(i). Furthermore, on the t68(i), it takes slightly more button presses to start recording (there are no auto-recording capabilities either), unlike on the successor, the t610.
Siemens' old "dumb" models (for example, the SL-45) are also stated to be able to make flawless recordings. I don't know whether it's easy to make them automatic, whether the recordings are correctly timestamped or whether the other party's number / name is also stored along with the recording.
Finally, if always switching your phone to speakerphone mode is OK with you (and your environment: co-workers / family members etc.) and you never use wired / Bluetooth headsets (which would make recordings entirely impossible), make sure you always do so. It'll deliver definitely worse recording quality than recording with a phone that does support recording, but is still better than in the non-speakerphone mode. Note that if you need automatic speakerphone activation (as opposed to the manual one), you'll want to take a closer look at VITO AudioNotes - currently, it's the only audio / call recorder application to support auto speakerphone activation (and is, in general, an excellent call recorder for both the Pocket PC and the Smartphone).
Please DO read my related articles for more information on all these questions; they may answer all your questions.
Windows Mobile device manufacturers & Microsoft, we DO need phone recording capabilities!
Review: decent phone call (!) / note / MP3 recorder VITO AudioNotes 1.3 out!
How can I record phone conversations on my Pocket PC Phone Edition device?

Haykuro 4.5 Bluetooth Profiles

Does the latest stable (4.5) Haykuro cupcake support stereo bluetooth and bluetooth file transfer? I miss having my stereo headphones for MP3 and I really miss being able to bluetooth mp3's, pictures and documents directly to other phones, laptops and printers.

problem with bluetooth headset - play/pause, back/for not working

hello,
i have a bluetooth headset philips shb 7100.
The bt-headset paired and connected successful with my device.
But the functions play/pause and back/forward not working.
I can hear music, volume control and the calloptions also working.
Is the reason the widcomm stack in acer neotouch?
There is a solution for this?
OR
knows someone a stereo bt-headset that works with this functions (play/pause,back/for)?
doesn't work for me either
Hi!
I have a motorola HT820, and I can't play/pause/next/previous with it either, all though the headset worked fine with iMate SP5 and HP 614c
The problem seems to be that Acer (or at least the ROMs I'm using) don't support the AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile).
So until someone figures out a way to include this profile, we're stuck!

yes, I read it in the www
I installed the "avrcp agent" (to find here in forum)
Nothing.
What I not understand:
my headset works with the windows media player mobile with this functions, but with no other musicplayer??
(is in the wmp the avrcp support..)
but wmp is not good to use
I am now using jabra bt3030. it works perfectly in AVCRP.
however, the ACVRP funtion only works in WMP default player.
I had tried to use the funtion in pocket music, coreplayer, mortplayer, nitrogen, but all don't work.
Only works in WMP! Don't know why and hope there is a way to solve it. I don't like WMP too.
I find that it now works with WMP, but I'm not sure if it was because I installed AVRCP agent.
(When I was using Rafyvitto's vanilla ROMs, it didn't work even with WMP...)

News!
pocketplayer 4.1 (no freeware) with the plugin "conduit wm adapter 2.31" (gen_wmhost.dll) works!
The plugin must be configure:

Look into the FAQs of S2P on their site. There's a link to a xda-thread where you will find a modified dll which could work with our s200. It disables the hijacking of BT-Signals by the WMP.
I actually would directly the thread, but it's not allowed for new users to post links :-(
Hope it helps...

According to this, AVRCP should work with HTC Music Player as well (not just WMP), but in my case it only works with WMP... but let's check it and see...

I tested s2p with the t-back driver.
no success

+1, mine is ACER neotouch S200 most recent acer ROM. Nothing work with my bluetooth headset philips shb 7100 other than the darn useless boring WMP . Sometime I just want to totally give up window mobile and try something else, but I have already invested too much on window mobile medical applications.
Car audio Bluetooth connection not working
hi...
I see many of you already have had some problems with bluetooth connections with this phone...but all of you say that at least can put the WMP working...
I'm trying to connect my S200 to the car audio (sony from 08 Ford Focus) and it's not working...the car audio system doesn't recognize the phone, but te phone says it's connected...
Is there any known bug for this? any way I can workaround this problem?
Tkx
I use Pocket Player, with plug-in 'Conduits WM Adaptor 2.31', checked to 'Intercept/Override WMP', checked to 'BT Remote Control', after that can use A2DP .
I also use PocketMusic, but still not know how to config A2DP .
