no disconnect option for gprs - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

when i click on G indicator for gprs when it's connected i don't see disconnect button and no time for how long am i connected, i had this but when i did a hard reset i lost this options, now i can only disconnect by holding the red button, how can i fix this to get the disconnect button back? something in the registry maybe? pls help

i've tried with tweaks2k2.net bit option for Disconnect button for gprs is GRAYED and cannot be switched on, what to do? Common there must be somenoe who knows this

you are right, there is a registry key to edit to make it comes out.
I was having this issue then I found out about it, and I fixed mine in my Wallaby that is running WM 2003.
Sorry I do not have the information handy right now but I will try to search for it in my home PC this weekend.
Hope somebody that knows can post if faster than me.

found the tweak
- Add a 'Disconnect' button (and Timer) to the Connection List for GPRS
To add a Disconnect button:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 8 (DWORD decimal)
To add a Disconnect button and a timer display showing how long GRPS is in use for the session:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 16 (DWORD decimal)
To disable both the Disconnect button and the timer:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 0 (DWORD decimal)

WM6 Bubble Wifi On/Off Fix

Hi,
I wrote this little dll to solve the problem.
You will be able to turn on/off wifi from the bubble.
See the attached screenshots.
Install:
- copy bubblefix.cab to Universal and install
- soft reset ( I was lazy to write a setup.dll, sorry )
Now tap big G/3G icon on taskbar.
You should see the big ugly wifi on/off button.
Maybe next time I'll try to make it more beautiful.
Tested under Jwrightmcps' .06 ROM.
Version 2 (16th of March 2007)
-------------------------------------------------
- Button style changed to everybody's favourite grey style.
No more ugly button Check the screenshots.
- New feature :
Before displaying button, buttonfix.dll tries to read xpos, ypos, width, height
(DWORD) values from HKLM\Software\BubbleFix.
If it doesn't find any or all of these values in registry It will load default one instead of the missing value.
Default values :
xpos=8,ypos=71,width=169,height=40. This looks beautiful on Universal.
- bugfix : the previous version sometimes determine the wrong wifi state when 5 is written to Wifi value in the registry. I hope I managed to correct this.
Install ( if you are currently running version 1 )
-----------------------------------------------
- rename \Windows\bubblefix.dll on Universal to something else
- soft reset
- unzip bfixV2_dll.zip and copy bubblefix.dll to Universal's Windows directory
- soft reset
New install ( no previous version on Universal )
------------------------------------------------
-copy bubblefixV2.cab to Universal
- install the cab
- soft reset
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
cool cool nice one!!
Nice, szilamer, very nice. Thanks

what about the GPRS disconnect bubble? can you help?
i am also looking for a GPRS disconnect bubble
Bravo, I wish I have your level of knowledge so I could also contribute.
When I press WiFi ON, I am redirected to the Comm Manager, then from there I can turn the WiFi ON. Is that the way you made it? If YES, then it is better to just press the Comm Manager shortcut Icon or just press Fn + Right Arrow keys.

No with me i just click wifion and no redirection the arrows start moving for connection. Something wrong or the registry is not binding it correctly i guess.

What's the problem with GPRS disconnect ?
Have you tried to add the "famous" Flags2 to the registry ?
I've just checked on mine, and after adding Flags2 I have Disconnect in Connectivity bubble.
I attached the screenshot.
Redirection

Something is wrong with your OS
I'm using Jwrightmcps .06 ROM and no redirection.
If I press wifi on it will switch wifi on without launching Comm Manager.
And neither dll code contain redirection code.
When you press wifi on it calls DevicePowerNotify, and SetDevicePower to set
{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TIACXWLN1 power state to D0. (D4 when pressing wifi off.)
For wifi state checking it's using
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware, Wifi Value.
Can you check if
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State,
{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TIACXWLN1 value is
present on your OS ?

I have Flags2 in HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone
Flags2 ( DWORD ) = 16 ( decimal )
i did exactly as you posted above,yet there is no disconnect on the bubble. i wonder why!
I am using ROM 2.01.08 and I dont not have GPRS disconnect button either. I am new at this so I dont know how to look at the registry but I was able to load the bubble.cab for Wifi and it worked just fine . Could there be something as easy as a .cab that I might be able to fix my GPRS disconnect bubble. Thanks and much appreciated.

Thanks man
i have it working now.
szilamer, how do you know how to reg edit? Do you have a map of the registry or are you an MSCP or something? Just wondering cos I regard myself as quite technical and understand registry settings, but haven't got a clue where to find the particular keys...

WiFi on/off from Icon?

In Faria's AKU 3.3 ROM I could click the WiFi/Sync Icon next to the GSM signal strength Icon and select turn on WiFi. With the WM6 ROM I don't have this option. I have searched but it's a bit difficult to state that in the search terms.....
I assume this is a registry tweak but don't know which.....
Anyone know?
Andy
Turn on wifi
You must have wifi-init.ink in starup folder. Then go to
HKLM/Comm/Tnetwln1/Parms/HTCPreloadstatus --> 1
HKLM/Comm/Tnetwln1/Parms/HTCPreloadWIFI --> 1
the you can start by icon. But like in every wm6 rom you only have the possibility turn on wifi. but not to turn off!!
Keep trying

Thanks for that. I have wifi-init.lnk already in the startup folder, I have made the registry change but it doesn't stick.... I made the registry change with Task Manager, exited and verified again with Task Manager the change was present. I left the wizard for a few minutes and soft reset. The option isn't there and if I look in the registry the setting for HTCPreloadStatus is back at 0
I have tried this a couple of times now and I get the same results. Before anyone states the obvious I have left the Wizard for several minutes after making the registry change before soft resetting.

Total commander
I made it with total commander and after e few moments I power off by using the Powerbutton pressed for 5 seconds. That´s all. After that you can use programs like AEButton to toggle wifi on/off by hardwarebutton.

does anyone have a screenshot of the 750 with the htc home plug in

just curious?
Looks cool
HTC home screen plug in looks amazingly good on the 750 and functionally is one of my favorites plug ins (stylus free operation). Unfortunately, it partially screws up 750 hardware buttons assigned functions. For example, to to hang up a call you have to press OK button instead of red power on/off, to place a call you have to press central "select" button instead of green "call". Soft keys are OK.
I guess the plug in is originally designed for Hermes, worked fine on my previous 8525.
Treo 750 with HTC Plugin
1. Install WM6 ATT ROM Update.
2. Install HTC Plugin Install.
3. Enable "Dial Lookup" and "HTC Home" Plugins.
4. Enable "Hide lookup Field" Option from Menu -> Preferences.
5. Modify a value on the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home\Type
and change the value of "type" to 4.
6. Modify a value on the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Dial Lookup\Type
and change the value of "type" to 4.
This enabled you to move "Dial Lookup" plugin above "HTC Home" plugin.
7. Goto
HKLM/software/microsoft/shell - new dword ShowTitleBarClock with value=1
This will force the clock to show instead of two battery icon on the top bar.
Enjoy.
thanks im gonna try it
Will the today call activation screen still work or will the HTC Home stay up during calls?
Where can i download the HTC Home plugin??? Thanx in advance!
htc plugin attached.
HTC Plugin is attached.
problem
where can i find the registry?

pls

Can't seem to get the second battery off. There was already a ShowTitleBarClock on the directory specified. Whatto do? NEVERmind Reset device now gone. thanks I was looking for the 5 tab already had the 3 tab thanks alot.
Can someone build a cab with the latest 5 tab HTC Home screen with the reg edits already applied? If someone sends me the appropriate files/reg entries, I am happy to build the cab...I dont even have a Treo - doing this for a friend!
MJB
also when I go to change my weather city there is no cities to choose from. It never populates. Hoe can I change my city in the accuweather app?
Anyone able to fix the hardware button issue or do the registry edits correct it?
This HTC homescreen just looks sick on the 750! I want to try it.
Anyone able to uninstall it?
HR will do it - got a question for the experts though - does this app interfere with com ports at all - I found that after installing this plugin my BT GPS couldnt connect to my 750v - or maybe its coincidence?
How can I remove "phone status" plugin (displaying network name, BT,CF status...) from screen? After installing HTC plugin I have HTC,status plugin and dial lookup, and cannot remove the second one.
Thanks
Can this go on just the newist treo out? not the palm but the one supporting WM6?
I like the HTC home plugin but I cannot use hidelogo at the same time...so one line at the top is burned by the ATT carrier logo. If you click on hidelogo you go into a loop of resets.
This thing is great. But I have a problem. For some reason the screen will not go blank when the "End call" button is pressed (Tried other buttons as well but nothing will turn it off). In fact the screen will not go black for about 10-15 sec. Anyone know why this would happen? Thanks
The quick dial does not let me choose which number to dial on a contact. ie. cell, home, work. Anyway to fix that?

Motorola Q9h, TomTom 6 - GPS and backlight

After installing TomTom 6 on my Motorola Q9h I had two major issues -
1) To start GPS I had to start some external GPS program
2) Backlight did not stay ON.
So, I made a launcher that fixes these things.
Copy MyTTlauncher.exe to the device,
change tt.lnk accordingly and copy to device (\Windows\Start Menu for example).
Default - TomTom and MyTTlauncher.exe are in \Program Files\Navigator\
Can you navigate and select items in the menus in tomtom? My up/down dpad controlls the volume not scrolling..thne when typing on teh keypad only the numbers make numbers so i cant type 10 of the letters so address entry is impossible
i had to edit the config file to make it com5 after using the modaco gps port setter because i couldnt select a gps comport when they listed the available...compared to running on my old 8525 this software feels very cripled on a non touch screen pda....
HOPEFULLY you have some good tips?!

Press and hold contact button (on the bottom second from the left) until phone beeps. It will switch keyboard layout between numbers and letters. You can use Fn instead of backspace. Items from the menus can be selected either via d-pad or via numbers. Unfortunately, selection from the list and browsing the map is possible only via fakecursor

Hey guy... I have the Moto Q9h as well. i installed tom tom and your files but whenever i open tomtom and hit navigate to it says no gps device? any ideas?

You need to use Microsoft GPSID utility to map GPS to Com3, then configure TomTom to use Com3

attached .exe does not have the part with SetSystemPowerState. I had to add it because in TT7 my on Q9h GPS stopped after several minutes. I think SetPowerRequirement became redundant, but I left it there
Thank you very much, U-2
I tried something similar (with "CeRunAppAtTime"), using only "SetSystemPowerState", but it doesn't worked out.
Finally I installed Tomtom 6 + Tomtom 6.03 and now it's working perfectly with my IPaq 214. After the installation the BT couldn't turn on, but a reset fixed it

Power setings on LG Incite

Guys,
I have a problem with my power settings on LG Incite. My config is to turn off screen after 2 minutes if I am not using it, when I am running on internal power.
Now, when I run gps software, I wanna to disable this (iGo Amigo).
Trying adding this to either sys.txt and system.ini (igo) but nothing changed:
[power]
power_off_mode=0
Tested using also powermgm_state (0, 1 e 2), no change.
At last, tried:
[registry]
oninit1="HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\ACSuspendTimeout:DWORD:0"
oninit2="HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\BattSuspendTimeout:DWORD:0"
oninit3="HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\BatteryTimeout:DWORD:0"
oninit4="HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\ACTimeout:DWORD:0"
onexitreset1="HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\ACSuspendTimeout:DWORD:300"
onexitreset2="HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\BattSuspendTimeout:DWORD:60"
onexitreset3="HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\BatteryTimeout:DWORD:30"
onexitreset4="HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\ACTimeout:DWORD:60"
On sys.txt, no change.
Of course, using power settings on control panel works (WM 6.1) but that is not very touch (thumb) friendly.
Any other options?
Thanks.
