I'm considering purchasing this unit off ebay but i can't find any official site or any reviews. I just wanted to know if anyone has any info on it regarding its bluetooth stack and its compatibility with WM5.
I was considering purchasing an Alpine GPS unit for the car and a parrot handsfree kit but this is an all in one device which would end up cheaper. Any info regarding BT and GPS would be great.

Can't seem to find a provider of XDA car kits in the US and I'd heard that some people successfully used a TomTom kit so I looked into them.
I have a trip coming up next week so I'd like to buy a solution ASAP.
This is a car kit for TOMTOM rather than the XDA-2 By that i mean its a simple holder for the XDA-1 (the xda-2 will fit but it tight unless you remove the battery cover) it power the XDA and the GPS thats it, It is not a car kit for a mobile phone
John
Ok thanks for the quick response, if it'll fit the XDA II (even snugly) and power both it and the GPS then at least I'll know what I'm getting.
I'd love to get a regular car kit for hands free but have come up empty looking for a stateside retailer. Anyone else out there know of one?
The XDA-1 car kit dose work with the XDA-2 and also you can connet your GPS to it, but there is no aerial connetin the XDA-1 kit.
I use the simple OMTOM Cradel in my car with a BT200 bluetooth headset, but i have friends who still use there old XDA-1 car kits

Hi
Which is better and why: the expansys or seido car mounts ?
There have been some discussions on the pros and cons of the expansys; besides the fact that pda audio isn't pushed through the car speakers, it seems to work well. Anybody with feedback on the seido G2500 ?
Also, where is the most convenient place to install the mount - in the centre of the dash somewhere or, for UK drivers, to the right of the steering wheel ?
Cheers
JP
Does anyone have the Seidio unit yet? According to their website still to be released.
sorry, missed that it is 'available soon'.
It does look sleeker than the expansys one though.
I'm waiting for the Seido G2500 to be released, I have not seen the other one but would really like to see any others, but so far the Seido G2500 has been the best on features and price... I'm planning on getting a bluetooth GPS as well and the Seido G2500 has an output to charge your GPS as well so its a great solution for me...
Any other sujestions?
I will probably get the seidio when it is released but the Expansys unit does appear to have an external antenna connection to mate with the connector on the XDA II, that could be useful.
As far as the BT charge facility on the Seidio G2500 I like that too but the Navman GPS 4400 unit I was planning to get isn't listed on the Seidio list of available BT charger options.
One other thing, I use the Seidio iSound wireless FM transmitter with my XDA II as an MP3 player in my car. It enables the sound to be broadcast through the car stero system. Works really well. The people at Seidio tell me that an adapter will be required for the iSound to work with the Seidio G2500 but that adapter has not been developed yet.
Hi there,

The original tomtom bluetooth receiver works very well, can be had very cheaply on ebay uk.
Plenty of good BT GPS receivers, see here for reviews.
I can recommend the Globalsat, Fortuna ClipOn, Leadtek (aka TomTom BT) and Emtac ranges.
Thanks for the info guys.
Pretty good reviews in the link.
I'm thinking of getting the TOMTOM (Leadtek) one as it looks very sleek and has good reviews.
WHats the opinion on that and how much should I be looking to pay for it!??
A good GPS, the Leadtek 9537 version is better as it has a removeable battery but it is otherwise identical internally to the TomTom badged version. eBay is a good place, around £80 or less would be ok on eBay, more from retailers naturally.
Someones offering me a AVL Bluetooth BT-15 for £70...what do you think?!!?
I'm reviewing one right now, it's known as the Purplegrid K2 BT here in the UK, www.easydevices.co.uk sell it for £82.25 inc of VAT.
It's OK but not very sensitive and It's not nearly as efficient as other BT units despite the headline '16 Channels' so I'd hold out for a better unit.
Excellet
Think I'll get the TomTom or Leadtek then......do you know any places apart from Ebay, where I can get it....
cheers mate, your a great help.....

UPDATE
Got my Bluetooth GPS Receiver yesterday (decided to go with the TomTom/Leadtek version).
I am trully impressed....
Thank you very much Darren.
Also a bit off topic but I see that you write reviews on GPS units. Do you need anymore people to test and review stuff for you? I'm interested.....
You're welcome to submit a review for consideration. I reccomend you participate in our forums for a while and if you can think of an article or subject we haven't covered then perhaps you could author one?

I am willing to buy this MPOW Muze bluetooth ones, But there are 2 on amazon, both by MPOW and one of them is 49$ the other 83$. I Don't seem to find the difference between them. They seem to be exactly the same. Another problema is, I have seen the reviews and the more expensive versión has been low rated and has more bad reviews. The cheaper ones have almost no complaines. Help on what to do? I Don't change my decision of buying this, just in case someone wants to convince me of buying others. Thanks!:good:
