I'm new to convergence devices and i just bought an imate jam "used", didn't come with anything, but I would like to upgrade to the latest ROM. I tried reading the sticky thread on top, but i got confused. I followed the steps, but I couldn't find the file that he stated on there. Then I just tried to upgrade it by clicking "next" on the "welcome to device software update utility" window, but that also failed, it said, "the ROM update you're trying to install is not for the device". Can anyone guide me through this?

Explain your problem better. Some specifics please.
Maybe you just need to use cracked baupgradeut.exe utility, because you try to upgrade with rom that's correct for your device but from other vendor.

I've tried several of them, but whenever it reaches the end, it keeps saying wrong country code. I thought mine was a WWE, but that didn't work and I tried the UK, that also didn't work.

You should dawnload Maupgrade_noID.exe and extract all files from the ROMs in ftp shipped and than put this Maupgrade file in the same folder with the extracted files from the ftp ROM and then run Maupgrade_noID.exe. First time you will get again wrong ID code but you will need to run again Maupgrade_noID.exe and it will work. Attached Maupgrade_noID.exe.
Have a problem with unlocking my new G3 device (never had problems with the old one until it died ). When trying to downgrade/unlockcid using downgrade_and_unlockcid_v01 utility after executing dowgrade.bat I get following message: "could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, may be it is in use?"
tried to solve the problem by running SDA_ApplicationUnlock before trying to downgrade but still nothing. Dear Guru, please tell me, where the problem might be?

I had been using Helmi_UNI_AKU3.5_v1.3 for a while, today i tried to flash WM6_TrueNeytral rom and now my pda is dead. Before that i enabled the RAPI using the enableRapi cab, as my pc kept on saying that "Cannot copy files". But after enabling rapi, i tried again and i was flashing WM6_TrueNeytral rom, half way thru flash(after creation of partition's), i got some error message [some lame win error- i am using win xp xp2). And now my PDA is not working.
I had a some prob before when i had tried to upgrade Phorpeth IVVV, but i used HELMI rom to repair and overcome the problem...
Please tell me an GENRIC version of ROM which i can use to repair it.

I would suggest restoring your Doc table with MTTY, then upgrade your BootLoader version if you have not done this allready and re-flash the rom of your choice.

I think you are on the wrong forum.
universal is NOT the name of universal rom versions for all ppc's, but rather one particulair kind of ppc.

I could recover the PDA yesterday using the method u suggested.
I was doing something wrong before so could not find the USB port, later i browsed all the posts to get it and did the required thing. Please close the post.

Have you tried installing one of JWright's ROM's?
Also, I have never heard of any of the ROM's that you are trying - I do know that you are using a Universal (since its called the PU10), so thats not the issue.
Additionally, try a different computer and cable - they may be causing the problems
i konw that this is not a Universal forum but, can anyone help me? i got an error 112 Update Error, and i cant just flash anything, just stucks at 7% help please

Are you at your Tri-Color Screen? If so...tell me what the screen says...also what device do you have a Tilt or a TyTN II
well when i was trying to flash the rom it not recognized it, then i disconected it and then enter in bootloader, and when it was flashing just stucked at 7% and said "ERROR 112 :CE Rom Update Error"
and now i cant flash anything, just stucks at the same 7%
its a Universal i know that it isnt a forum for that device but in the universal one just nobody answers =( and i guess that some people here has 1 uni too

What does your TRI-COLOR Screen say?
it says just usb and v1.0
it tries to flash and then stucks at 7%
new thing, when i try to flash an original rom, it says "error 100: model id error 22-N-50-N-N

Can anyone help me please?? =(... i get an error 112, the rom just dont flash, it gets a 7% then the error appears, its an HTC Universal. i tried some things and even no results, theres a way to flash from SD? or it will be the same?? or maybe it got locked or something? or i just bricked it?? it enters to bootloader and it starts to flash and stuck on 7% TT-TT

Not to sound mean, but you could try spamming the Universal forums instead of the Kaiser forums. I know there are a lot of people on the Kaiser forums, but we're Kaiser users. Odds are you'll get better information in the correct forums because the people there have the same hardware...just a thought.

I have a Universal, and here are some ideas and questions:
1. Give the exact name of the ROM you are trying to use. Do not put "the original one," or "Fred's rom." Put the EXACT NAME of the ROM that you are upgrading to, and a link to it.
2. Stop. Take a breath. Throwing away your Universal will not solve the problem.
3. Give exact step by step description of what happened. Start from, "I was using my Universal with XXXXXXX ROM and the world was fine, and then I downloaded the ROM given in item #1 above. I then did (whatever you did). Continue on. End with "I am now stuch at 7%"
4. I noticed that you are from Mexico. I am from the USA, so some colloquilisms may not translate well. (Plus my Spanish is horrible). Let's just stick to the facts.
To be quite honest, your posts are not helpful, and they sound like a drowning man clutching an anvil (see last Sunday's Dilbert...). It would be more helpful if you could be more forthright and specific as to the issue, and give those wanting to help you as much detail as possible.

Hello everybody. I'm completely noob, so please have a little patience with me. I have a Treo 750 in italian, and my final goal is to flash it to wm6-english. But for start, i don't know what Treo i have. I read about Cingular, At&t, etc...

So whom am i talking to every day? Is there a special version of wm6 for my phone?

Stupi ... it doesn't matter which Treo you have when it comes to flashing ROMs.
Just do the HardSPL first. That way you can pick the English language ROM of your choice to flash and it will work. You also get the benefit of unlocking the phone so it can be used on any GSM network.
Ideally, you'd be best to pick an English ROM provided by the same company that provides your cellular service, but it is not required. If you pick one from another cell company (or a hacked one) then you might have to enter your network settings manually, but that's the only difficult part.
Plenty of resources in this forum. Do some searching and you'll find everything you need. Good luck!
One question, thought... i could'n find the answer on the forum. I downloaded the unlocher, but it sais it only works with spl 1.11, at least... Mine is 0.22.
I tried then to update with RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10_108_Ship.exe, but in the "current information about your pda phone" it didn' recognize my pda. I got affraid of bricking it.
So, it seems to me my first problem is updating the spl from 0.22 to 1.11. But I cannot find the software to do this..

Ok, i launch the application, and it sais it can't start only with 1.11 spl. Mine is 0.22.0000
So the first thing i have to do is update this 0.22 spl to 1.11. Am I right?

Find one of the WM6.0 desktop updaters and try installing that. They don't require a HardSPL first.
Use one of the following:
AT&T English: Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Rest of World English: Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Three Australia: Treo750_2_19_H3E_DesktopUpdater.zip
Vodaphone UK English: Treo750_2_18_VFU_DesktopUpdater.zip
I don't have any links as they aren't hosted by Palm anymore. You should be able to find them by looking around the XDA Forum, or by searching the net and/or torrent sites for the filenames above.

ok, my spl is ok (1.4), i put the CHEEIMG.nbh on my sd card, and I run the step 1 of cheetah unlocker. And nothing happens.. still boots with wm5. I even did a hard reset.
Man, i'm goig crazy... what am i missing?
Please, someone could upload again one of those 4 files? I could find neither of them with goolge.

I must be missing something. I made those steps, all went ok. But how the heck do i change the windows version? That's my goal, not to flash the spl.
I got a win 6 image (i hope, at least), copied the CHEEIMG.nbh file on the card (which is fat 32), and i repeated step one from cheetah-unlocker. As I hoped that after flashing the new windows would automatically install. But nothing happened, the old win was up and running.
Come on man, I'm not such a bad person after all to deserve this... I may have killed a few birds or cats in my childhood, but this is too much... you're killing me.. I'm stuck in this spagetti windows, and I can't upgrade to a normal english windows... what the heck am i missing?
well, if you haven't gotten it sorted by now, hope this helps: once you've hard spl'd, put the new image that you want to flash in the root on your card [<2gb, fat32 formatted] and then hold media and push reset. your phone will cycle into the bootloader [rgb screen], detect the image and ask if you want to flash.
