Hi!
I know this site is almost only about HTC but maybe there is an answer for my question. I bought a HP hw6515 from ebay - and now I found out it's SIM locked
Any possibilities to unlock this device WITHOUT paying money to some of those *untrusted* websites?
Any help highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Who is the original providor? You could approach them and pay a fee, but only do so if you are completley sure of the devices' provenance.
There are no free unlockers for iPaqs as no-one has written them for such a low volume device - there is no benefit.
You may have to use an ebay seller for the unlock code. There are several high feedback sellers who provide iPaq codes.
Richard
Why don't search and Buy it on ebay? i see that only about 30$ each unlock code and you'll get code within 24 hours

ebay have feedback system so you can sure code will works or you can give seller negative feedbacks and request refund

Hello everyone, please accept my apologies and ignore this if availability alerts are not allowed on the forum, i know these units are hard to get at present though so it may help get one quicker.
I have o2- XDA II i units available SIM FREE for £389 plus £15 insured courier delivery, i only have a few so be quick.
So the transactions are smooth it is better if i put them on ebay and give you the item number then we both have protection from fraud.
All the best......
Richard
Very interesting. Are these besides SIM free also SIM unlocked and would you ship to The Netherlands?
Also, how to get assurance about the fact that your really have the units?
I will photograph a unit with a small item of your choice (within reason !!!) included in the picture to prove I have the units,
I need to know how to unlock them to all networks actually so help here would be appreciated.
ship to netherlands
I would ship to holland provided i was paid in such a way as to have seller protection, also the carriage would be a bit more.
Richard, I will take one if it is unlocked. I will pay you through Pay Pal, an ebay service. I will need it shipped to the US. Perferably FED EX. So if you are interested let me know. PM me on yahoo as mikee4fun or email me at [email protected].
Thanks,
Mike

Hi everybody,
First of all, I'm from Romania and I don't own a PayPal account or a Google Checkout. I don't have a credit card or anything like that because I'm not rich enough to keep my money on a credit car or a bank account...plus no one I know uses PayPal.
I somehow got a touch pro really cheap but the problem is that I cannot unlock it. I took it to several stores but they weren't able to unlock it. One of them told me he'll call me when he can do it but nothing yet...the cost was a bit higher then Olipro's 14 Euros, but I would have payed if he could have made it...
How could I unlock it by getting the money to Olipro in some other way or is there someone from Brasov, Romania region who can help me? I would pay 20 euros cash with no problem.
And yes. It is not a good feeling to have a crappy phone and a touch pro with no signal in your pocket because I sold my good phone to buy this one. And the crappy phone is from someone who gave it to until I unlock this one and I had it for more than a week already.
Thanks in advance.

Have you contacted Oli and asked him if he accepts western union money laundering (sorry, transfer). All he would need to do would be to walk into any western union in the world, show ID and then he has the money http://www.westernunion.com/
I didn't want to bug him with this kind of questions and thought that someone here can help me. But now I contacted him and hopefully we will come up with something.
Thanks for the reply.

I don't know how things work in Argentina, but I know here in the states, if you've been with your carrier long enough you can request an unlock code from them at no charge.

^^ Exactly what this guy said. CONTACT EBAY RIGHT AWAY!
CALL THEM ON THE PHONE. Say, "Item not as described". Tell them you want to escalate it to a claim. They will tell you to ship the item back and give them a tracking number, also get delivery confirmation. You will get your money back as soon as eBay gets delivery confirmation from the postal service.
Experience: Returned a touch screen acer laptop with dead zone in the touch screen when it was claimed to be 100% working
AND WHEN YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK... I have 2 Motorola backflips... I bought one unlocked, used it on T-Mobile for 2 days, and then saw AT&T was offering free backflips with new service. So now I'm on AT&T with a free Backflip, but I do have an unlocked Backflip sitting here as well. I'll sell it to you for $280 + shipping, via eBay. I bought it for $290 about 3 weeks ago. You should also use "Bing Cashback" to get 8% cash back on the "Buy it Now". PM me if you're interested.
The Backflip is the hottest phone ever.. Lol. Good choice.
lol i dont know about the backflip being "the hottest phone ever" but i guess to each their own right
If you bought something on eBay but didn't receive it or you received something that's significantly not as described, PayPal Buyer Protection can help.
PayPal Buyer Protection covers eligible transactions for the full purchase price plus original shipping charges. Some purchases -- like vehicles in the Motors category, capital equipment in the Business & Industrial category, and Real Estate -- aren't eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.
To qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection:
Use PayPal to buy an eligible item on eBay.
Pay for the item with one payment. Items purchased with multiple payments aren't eligible.
Send your payment by clicking the Pay For It button on the eBay invoice or by clicking the Pay Now button on the eBay item page.
Let the seller know there's a problem with the transaction by opening a dispute in the Resolution Center within 45 days of making your payment. Then, escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days of the date you opened the dispute.
Keep your PayPal account in good standing.
Find out more about PayPal Buyer Protection in our PayPal User Agreement.
You can report your problem in the PayPal Resolution Center or the eBay Resolution Center. Either way, you’ll receive the same coverage.
To find out how to report a problem on eBay, go to eBay and click "Resolution Center" at the bottom of any page.
The fastest way
I am not going to add anything useful to the conversation. BUT....
While the Paypal dispute resolution center is a great thing. I think the fastest and easiest way to go about this is to get a freaking code. He has the phone there, there's no need to reship wait and buy another and so on. That is if he can get a code... That was the question.
Open a dispute, or spend $2.15, its not that expensive

All you guys fail with your comments
I say he should ask him for the $3 to get a unlock code. He will probably say yes to avoid shipping costs of sending it back and the hassle of dealing with a return.
ebay
Hi,
I bought several times in Ebay from Argentina, I opened a dispute once and got my money back, but maybe, in this case, it's better to just unlock the phone in your hands.
Anyway, I'm willing to buy a phone, mainly for internet and email while traveling in Argentina. I want to buy an AT&T blackberry or similar. I know this unlocked phones do work for sms and calling, but I don't know if they work for Email and Internet or 3G: did you unlock your phone? does it work for Internet and Email?
Thanks
Any 1 knows from where i can get lg g2x unlock code ? i am new here waiting for your response ....
why not call/email T-mobile?
It depends. If you bought it directly from a T-Mobile store you can call them up or email them for the unlock code. They'll ask you for a proof of purchase. If you don't have an account with T-Mobile, AND you purchase it at some other retailer they won't give you the unlock code. This happened to me. T-Mo absolutely refused to honour my purchase through amazon, add that to the fact that I don't have a number with T-Mo, they were very stubborn to not give me the code, even though I bought it for full price.
So, I went online an purchased a code from unlockthatphone.com It's like $15 added to $510 (no tax+free shipping) from Amazon I thought it was a pretty good deal too.

There are lots of 3rd party unlock sources that charge about $10 for it. If you have Tmo and your account is in good stand for 3 months then they send you the code for free.
Pm me< I can help you to get the code

Actually if you pay full price they won't even wait for three months, you'll get it immediately. My problem is that I don't have an account with T-Mo at all. I'm moving out of the US, and the O2X costs way more than the G2X.
Thanks

That's not true, they are locked to O2 network. Fill in a form here: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset Unlocking Form and wait. It took them one day to supply me with an unlock code.
Thank you very much. Already received it and, as you told, it's locked. I'm not living in UK and bought the phone on ebay to use overseas. The link you provided it's for 02 contract customers, no? Do you know any reliable unlock code provider? Cheers
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Well, most likely the person who sold you the phone is an O2 contract customer. You could ask that person to request an unlock code for you as it would be free of charge. Another option is to get O2 Pay & Go sim card and doing it yourself. See this: http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI...ef(User):str(Mobile),CASE=ref(unlockmymobile) which might be tricky if you're not in the UK I don't know of any reliable unlock sites, but they usually charge a fortune for this.
This thread describes the situation I was in, in case anyone stumbles on it later.
I tried via the O2 online chat to get the phone unlocked. They said that I could not unlock it because they could only supply an unlock code if the phone had been used for 12 months on O2 and their records showed that this particular phone had only been used for three months. So, it looked like I would have to get a UK O2 SIM and use it for nine months. That is not easy if you live in Australia. However there is a site called Travelgear that sells O2 SIMs and lets you charge them up with 20 pounds of credit. So, I did that, and installed the SIM with a view to seeing out the 9 months, perhaps sending a text every so often and topping up each month. After installing the SIM I received a text from O2 saying I had 100MB of data to use. In trying to work out the status of the phone account I pressed an O2 shortcut on the front screen which opened up an app which when I pressed on the "My O2" button, opened up the web browser, which would not let me log into any information. Then, I thought I would ask O2 again to unlock via their online support form. Unsurprisingly, they responded that they could not but surprisingly, they said that the reason was that I did not have the necessary 15 pounds of credit. I queried that because I thought I should have 20 pounds. Ha ha! While it is 100MB, it is 6 pounds per MB if you are roaming in Australia! The brief attempt to check my account status had wiped out my credit. Gosh how I laughed.
Anyway, in parallel with all of this I tried an unlocking site called gsmliberty. They said they would need to go to a "second level database" at an additional charge and I said no thanks I will have a refund, which they promptly gave without fuss. Then I tried CellUnlockerPro. First time, they said the servers were down, which I thought was just an excuse for not being able to get the unlock code as gsmliberty had not been able to, so I asked for a refund and they too gave it to me promptly. About a week later CellUnlockerPro emailed to say the server was up so I thought nothing to be lost and gave it a shot. I put in the wrong IMEI but again CellUnlockerPro gave me a refund because I spotted the mistake early. I tried again and lo! they gave me an unlock code which worked.
So, moral of this sad story seems to be that if you are in Australia, do not waste money trying to get the free unlock out of O2, just spend the 30 USD that CellUnlockerPro charges.
