Jamin, WM5, OziExplorer - General Topics

Hi have the I-Mate Jamin (after having O2 XDA II and XDAIIs previously).
I have reinstalled OziExplorerCE on the phone and bonded the BT GPS device. I noted on the Jamin I needed to create an outgoing port to get it to recognise the BT GP, I also created an incoming com port.
The only option for Comm ports were Incoming COM6, Outgoing Leadtek GPS COM7. It seems a bit strange but who knows..
When I go into OziExplorerCE configuration to setup the COM port I cannot select COM6 or COM7.
Any ideas. I have not had this issue previously.
Many thanks.

xda2i and bluetooth gps

I have a globalsat bt318 bluetooth gps.It will connect to the xda2i but the bluetooth manager only records an outgoing connection with no incoming .The software that comes with the gps has a com port scan device nad selects com 1 , although I have tried all of them. The software also suggested using baud rate 38400 , although i have tried all of the rates.I've tried everything it seems burt can not get any bluetooth input to the xda21.Any ideas?
i have a XDA2i bluetooth 1.0.3900 and i Use TOMTOM witha Ledtek BT reciever. This works well it has a connection on Bluetooth com port 6
John
Likewise...TomTom Wireless BT GPS (that grey one) and 1.0.3900 XDA2i...works through port 6 without any problems whatsoever...it's the one part of the BT stack that HASN'T p*ssed me off!!
Cheers
Anthony
Mpatterson, if com 1 is indeed being allocated, you will need to go to settings/connections and make sure the "beams" box is unchecked, also any external keyboard driver, if present will need disabling. When bonding the bluetooth gps you should be asked if you wish to use the serial profile, you should accept this, it should then allocate com5 and com6 for inbound/outbound.

xda mini problems with pairing a gps mouse

ola,
i have some problems to connect the xda mini with my gps mouse. the software navigator mn 4.2 shows only:
com4: btibserial
com5: btobserial
com9: serial_date
i think the bluetooth stack doesn't work...
how can i solve the problem???
thanks a lot!!!
Have you created a bt bond with the gps (bluetooth -> devices -> new...)? It will ask to create a serial port for the gps.
I am having the gps on com5, which is the BlueToothOutBoundSerial port. Not that I could choose another port, but it works fine ever since rom 1.01.
com4: btibserial
com5: btobserial
com9: serial_date
Don't know what com9 is for, but the list looks OK. com4 bt inbound & com5 bt outbound.
regards, M
Try bthtols 1.0.1.2
Bonding BT devices/services becomes way easier

MDA PRO and TOMTOM problems.... please help :(

Hi,
I'm hoping someone out there will be kind enough to help and solve this problem before I rip all my hair out!!!
I've installed tomtom (V5.00) on my mda pro, but I can't get it to recognise my bluetooth gps receiver.
I've set up a bluetooth partnership with an outgoing COM port. My MDA allows me to choose COM0 ,COM4,COM8
When I select other Bluetooth device from Tom Tom configuration, it gives me the options:
QCT Data Interface
Serial Cable on COM1
COM7
RIL on COM6
Infrared Port
Ir on COM3
I can't seem to align the software and the bluetooth to get it working correctly. Please help
tt ver 5 doesnt work properly with bluetooth you need to upgrade

Can`t create "incomming Comm Port" on WM6 Bluetooth Stack

Hi,
I have to use a special Bluetooth Tool for my Business. With this Tool I have to send and receive some Files, to make a malfunction detection on Electronic Devices. At my last PDAs, I paired my tool and my PDA at first, and then I create a Serial Connection. After that I have to assign a free incoming and outgoing Comm Port, to send and receive some Data files.
But now I have a Problem on my new XDA Orbit 2 (Polaris) PDA. `This is my first WM6 Device, and on this one, I cannot create an incoming Comm Port, because there is no possibility to create an incoming Comm Port. What can I do, to solve this Problem. Is it possible to add this Feature at the WM6 Bluetooth Stack?
Thank you for Helping!
Nobody with the same Problem?
Does nobody know to fix this Problem? Maybe we only need some File out of the Old WM5 OS, to create an incoming Come Port in the new WM6 OS?
Thank you...
How can any body offer any help without knowing this "special tool"

Hi,
The Problem is not the "Bluetooth Stick" called tool. The Problem is, that it is not possible to create an incoming comm Port, on the newer WM6 Devices. But this incoming Comm Port is a necessary Condition, to receive Data from a disturbed machine, through this Bluetooth Stick, onto my PDA. This Data I need for a intelligent error evaluation.
I hope, someone can help...

It would be worthwhile to know the brandname of your hardware and specifications of it. There are so many products called "Bluetooth Stick".

Hi,
The only specitfications about the Bluetooth Stick Tool I is, that it run only under "Master Mode", and not under "Slave Mode", because it` s more security for the Data. And the Master Mode would be work only with an"incomming Port". Sorr, but more Information I could not get from the Manufactor.
Thanky for helping...
Does nobody knows the Answer ?
I'd be intereseted if you ever come up with a solution. I'm trying to create an incoming com port so that I can use GPS2Blue with my car PC. No luck as of yet. I'll post if I find anything.
U cannot create incoming port on WM6 BT stack. But so far i didnt have any problems wits sending/recieving files, comunication with external BT GPS. Al u need 2 do is properly pair devices, properly configure external GPS settings & open outgoing port. Truth is i didnt test ext BT GPS with my Orbit2(o2 branded polaris), but i tryed it w/ Orbit & Universal (both WM6). I can try it today and i'll let U know

I'm not trying to use external GPS. I'm trying to use a program called GPS2Blue to route the signal from my internal GPS to a car PC via bluetooth. I thought the WM6 BT stack does support SPP, but does not advertise it as a service, thus creating the difficulty in creating SPP connections. I could be wrong though...
u dont need to create incoming port - thats if U want to recieve some data from [another device] with TC data flows 2 TC(tc is recipient) in your case u need too create OUTGOING (TC is sender)
incoming port problem
well I cannot use my bluetooth handsfree for incoming calls on my T-Mobile Vario II.I can make outgoing calls. There is no option in WM6 for creating incoming part.
I have tried diffrent bluetooth sets but no joy.I had no problems with WM5.
Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Wether a port is incoming or outgoing depends on which device initiates the connection, not which way data flows. For example, in your earlier example of an external BT GPS paired with a Pocket PC, the Pocket PC uses an outgoing connection to the GPS because it initiates the connection, not because data is flowing from the PPC to the GPS.
This is why I need to create an incoming port for my computer to see the PPC as an external BT GPS unit. The mapping program on the computer initiates the connection, then GPS coordinates are sent from the phone to the computer.
I've seen other programs that create their own virtual incoming port. Maybe that is what GPSGate does (I've heard it works for this use).

well I have two Brand New MDA Vario 2 handsets with offical Tmobile windows mobile 6 rom. Mobile handset cannot be faulty.
As I said it was working fine when it was on WM5.
Bletooth headset work perfectly with other mobile phones including Vario 1 with WM5.
regards
I have Polaris(o2 orbit2) & MotoROKR S9(beckham ed) w/o any probs. but this thread is dedicated to polaris, maybe smth similar was already covered in vario II thread. Try to check there, or post it there.
I have an old Motorola H350 headset and it works fine both ways (incoming/outgoing calls)... so based on your descriptions the incoming port of my Polrais works...
For setting Incoming port you can just simply copy few registry entries from WM5 to WM6.
I have used it for my application smartWatchM. I dont know how it works, but it does.

Thank you. You are my Hero...
It`s exact that`s what I need. Now my Bluetooths Device is working fine, and the XDA Orbit2 (Polaris) is the best PDA for my Requirements.
And Greetings to "Schaggo" Member in St. Gallen... Thanks for your good Work.
Is there any chance someone could let me know what those registry settings are? I have the same problem with not being able to create an incoming com port but I don't have a wm5 device to reference at the moment.
Thanks in advance,

Trouble Car-Bluetooth and WM6

Hi All,
I just had a brand new Car with Bluetooth. (Citroen C4 Grande Picasso)
With this Bluetooth I should have the abbility to to connect, answer, and scroll trough the contacts, of my phone. I'm using a Wizard G3 with WM6 (Dutch) IPL/ SPL 3.08 and Radio: 1.08. (Radio will be updated soon)
Probelm is: stuff is not working! I can connect the phone to the car with Bluetooth and it is recognizing it. When I make a call or one comes in, the Car sees it and mutes the audio. But that's all. I do not hear anything and I can't be heard. Also the button (on the steering wheel) for contacts doesn't work; meaning: It says: there are no contacts.
Who experienced the same pproblems and more important who solved these?
Hi Jedeve,
I have the same problem with the same car. It worked for me when I first started TT and then automatically my bluetooth GPS mouse was connected and all was working fine. Strnage but true. It looks like if a channel is set open when connecting to the bluetooth GPS mouse and stay open so evrything is working. I also have looked into registry setting son bluetooth if I can find differences by using diff but no strange differences where found.
I also talked to the Citroen dealer and they told that it might be possible that new telephones with the newest software are not able to work correctly with the carkit.
I have a Wizard (I think a G3) with Octavoi 9.2 on it, IPL/ SPL 3.08 and Radio: 2.71.11.
Hi,
same car and same problem here.
It seems worked with WM5 and problem showed after upgrading to WM6.
Calling/answering from car controls ends with total silence most times.
I've noticed that if a call is answered from phone it works most times.
Also car phonebook seems support only latin characters and any contacts with non-latin ones(cyrillic in my case) do not appear on car.
Would appreciate any suggestions/solution to above problems.
Hi,
I have same problem, with same car! with TNT wm6 Roms!
With new TNT 6.1 did not try yet...
Now I have Slim wm6.1 ROM and no problem! With NTS wm6 rom not problem too... works fine!
