i just finish rebuild Smart dial for HTC himalayas now. :wink: 8)
Try my himalaya WM5 SmartDialing and tell me if some thing missing in it...

When you rebuilt my .cab for Himalaya, you included one of my ealier test cabs for Sprint. So everyone installing this cab is also installing an earlier Sprint .cab.
It is called RevisedSmarDialingWM5(Sprint)noHTCSkins.cab and is being installed in your windows directory. You don't need or want this, you can delete it out of windows, as it is 420K in size.
You are also installing CDMA specific system event messages and icons. Maybe I should repost with an HTC generic set. Anyone willing to test?

You also used an earlier test version as the port. You are missing all of the Smartdialing registry keys.
Here is an updated version that should work on Himalaya with all CDMA stuff removed, registry keys added, etc.
Someone should remove the previous version and reinstall this one and let us know if it worked.

Downloaded yours but the prior cab hasn't fully uninstalled. Pause one while I get rid of the old one properly before I try to install yours.

Right, I tried the simple uninstall (Remove Program) and that didn't work so I've now deleted smartdiailing from \windows and removed any smartdial registry entries. Soft rest and tried to load yours but is it failing to install. I think more because of the prior installation than anything to do with your cab. Anymore I need to delete or any other ideas?

PS having removed smartdailing from Mwilmar's installation you mentioned a cab c 400k which would have loaded at the same time. what files do I need to delete to free that space up as I cannot locate "RevisedSmarDialingWM5(Sprint)noHTCSkins" or similar.

and made japanede Localized it.
This SmartDialer was worked fine, without any problem yet!

Nope, I tried it (all versions) and it won't even install - I get the "the program doesn't have sufficient system permissions" error message. Maybe someone will modify this app for the polaris - it seems like it would be useful since HHC doesn't customize the cube and this does.

I'm another Polaris user (well, it's on pre-order at the moment). This 'Touch Settings' program sounds like exactly what I was hoping to be able to use.
Is there any chance the program can be adapted to work on the Polaris? Can anyone hazard a guess from psargent's "the program doesn't have sufficient system permissions" when installing error message as to what the problem might be since I realise that it isn't reasonable to expect people like the author of this program to have every device at their disposal but if possible fixes can be suggested then maybe it can be fixed "blind"? I for one would be more than happy to validate any possible fixed version on a real device.

I have posted a few different times to Carlos in the "Elf" forum regarding this topic. Unfortunately he has not responded. It would be nice to use this program versus making the neccessary adjustments to the registry manually. Just a note that permissions error I also received when trying to load to my Touch.

This would be great on the TC. I have found a few registry settings that look easy to change (for the 6 icon side), but a complete program would be better. It would be nice to have the media hub customized as well.

I´ve got a German Orbit 2 aka TC and as far as I can see it doesen´t work. After installing all necessary files manually (due to rights-limitations) I can start the programm, but it doesen´t recognize my MediaMinihub. I can change the Phoo/Video/Music cube-side, but that´s it.
Maybe its because I got a German ROM...?

Hi, I'm the author of Touch Settings and I would be very happy to work with the community to get it working on the Polaris.
The CAB install error you're getting is v interesting. Steps to take to try and cure this problem are:
1. The device may be app locked, you need to download a program called Device Security Manager, then with your Polaris connected to Activesync, disable all the security:
Look at this web page for more info.
2. Also, try installing the sdcerts if possible (again, see above web page)
3. Check Free Storage memory; lack of this can cause the problem.
Please can somebody try all the above with the NEW VERSION 2.22 OF TOUCH SETTINGS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324556&goto=newpost)
If it doesn't work, I will upload a ZIP file of the individual files and we can try a manual installation.

Sorry to hear you've had problems. If you hard reset your device, your cube should revert to normal. If you are unwilling to hard reset your device, then if somebody could post a registry dump from a Polaris (clean, hard reset device) then I can post a fix CAB for you!

I have only question:
If I try to change APLauncher layout I get a mesage "It seems that your HTC Touch Software is not recent....", but I can change the apps grid. What the message exactly means? There is any newer HTC Touch Cube version than what is on Cruise installed?

Hmm. ...very interesting. Well, I don't have a Cruise/Polaris, so I don't know!
Could somebody please please send me a registry dump? And, if possible, the files Biotouch.exe, Mediahubmini.exe, APLauncher.exe and QDialer.exe from \Windows\ on the device.

Hi all,
I've seen others looking for this here, and while looking for something else, found a large VGA HTC Home in an Athena AX7510 ROM. I've extracted it from the Athena's OEMAPPS package and created a separate package with the relevant registry entries.

But I´ve tried a lot of ROM´s and several different htc home applications and always the same, when I recieve a call my UNI freezes imediatly.

Hi sorry to ask, but too many information, how can i use wheather tab? nothing happens when I try to select my city. the rest of the buttons same problem.
Already read all the posts and links but, I have to say honestly I´m kinda lost...
Any help would be apreciated!
It´s the first htc home I can use wothout incomming calls freezing!!!

If all icons are missing the likelihood is the CAB couldn't update your registry properly (it isn't "signed") -- it's working as stated on my ROM (based on Tomal V7.7) which has security checking disabled.

I took it from the Ahtena X7510 ROM, but as with ALL versions of HTC Home, it likely will use a large amount of memory.
(I'm looking into something else at the moment, so can't check).

hmmm strange im using tomal v7.7 and v8.0 hard reset doesn't work i think the only solution is to reflash my uni.

Hmmmmm - I got the chance to test on a different ROM, and saw the same as you. HTC Home Customizer let me bring the other tabs back, and after a soft reset, it worked fine.
Let me know if you want HHC uploaded (I can't remember where I found it, sorry!).

Somehow I can't get it to work. It installs fine (along with HTC Home Customiser) but it doesn't show on my today screen when I select it, even after a soft reset :/ any ideas?

As I mentioned earlier, I see this too with a different ROM. On further investigation, it seems that the registry value HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome\Tabsettings is being set to '1'.
*DELETING* this setting from the registry worked for me, and all the tabs appeared.
I'll see if I can see if there's something wrong with the CAB, and if so I'll fix it and re-upload, but you should be OK by making that registry change.

ok there is a tab on the home page but no more full application?
btw i was using one functionnality on this application: i was cutting a part of the music and i was able to set it to ring.
how can i do this with the tab?
am i forced to cut myself the music on my computer and past the file on the windows folder on the phone (old style way)?

It sounds like you need the MP3 Trimmer program. There is a post in this section that has the cab file for it. Try searching for "MP3 trimmer"...

but when i press the icon on the programs tab, nothing happens. the screen go blanck for a second and then i'm back on the program tab

What ROM do you use? Some cooked ROM or the original stock ROM?

the original french (orange) rom
i'll flash the rom in some month when i'll get ride off the original rom ^^

In this case I think you probably already have the MP3Trimmer installed. As far as I know it comes pre-installed on all stock ROMs.

i've installed lot of application to test, perhaps one of them brick the mp3 trimmer?
i've found a mp3 trimmer .exe in the windows folder, does not work neither.
btw i've found some program in the window folder that are not in the program list
(such as taskmanager)

Maybe just the shortcut is gone. please check if you have a file called "MP3Trimmer.exe" in your windows folder to make sure.

when i try to lauch it, i can see "mp3 trimmer" on the top on the screen and then it shut off

I wish you luck, hopefully it's worth it! If not you should consider a ROM change. I would suggest ROMeOS v1.40 - it's also available in french.

Rebooted and now I don't have ANY text entry. No t9 and no multitap. ALL you can do is numbers.

I have the same problem as e72_guy. Installed the t9 package from http://melgurth.ovh.org/index.php?page=downloads and could only enter numerals. Removing it from the E72 got me back to multi-tap but no t9.
There is a thread at http://e72.pl/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=258&rowstart=0 which mentions making alterations to the registry to get Polish t9 working but trying to make (what I thought to be) corresponding changes to my E72 registry didn't help. I will still left with just numeric input.

pxico: thanks for the pointer but I get the same problem with that one as well. Have you got t9 to work and if so with which ROM?
