T-Mobile SDA (US) AKU2 update: Where is it???? - HTC Tornado

As I've patiently waited for this update, I've noticed everyone else's carriers releasing this update, but nothing from T-Mobile USA yet, unless I've missed something. Has anyone heard anything about this? :?:

i called them recently and got a tech that was willing to answer that question. he told me "sometime before september".
sucks huh?

SEPTEMBER?????
Man, they've got to get their act together!
Thanks for the info.

I've talked with people inside of T-Mobile who are responsible for this sort of testing, and it's not even on their radar yet. Maybe we'll get lucky, but T-Mobile normally waits a very long time before releasing updates.

I sent an email to HTC customer support two days ago and I got a reply stating they are not even working on the ROM anymore because T-mobile has decided they don't want to support the MSFP upgrade on the SDA.
There is no emoticon to describe how I feel

oohh that is really sad
that was seen to come... 2 months have passed since the cingular's update...

I still have hope that the updated ROM with UMA support
however, I changed ROM to Dopod one, works prefectly

I got a Nokia N73, the SDA was always "searching...."

1.06.110 Ever likely to be available for T-Mobile

I noticed that I-Mate have just released the new 1.06.110 Rom upgrade for Jam.
I own the UK T-Mobile MDA Compact, and was wondering if T-Mobile are ever likely to release the upgrade for its MDA Compact owners.
Thanks
Dan
Hi,
in germany there will. T-mobile says it will come during cebit (10-16 this month)
Thanks. I am more than happy with the rom on there it works fine, and I like the t-mobile icon bar, but other than being able to buy it, their website has not support what so ever.
Dan
I am looking at http://www.t-mobile.de/dokumente/1,8165,19-_,00.html every day but nothing yet. Well CEBIT is notover yet but I wonder if they will really release an upgrade....
From what I have read, T-Mobile is usually slower than I-Mate and QTEK on releasing upgrades, seems that this is no exception.
waiting for the upgrade as well... :?
We had the discussion already on ppc-welt.info
It´s everytime the same with updates from t-mobile...they´ll get them extremely late and release dates are very unreliable .That´s why i flashed on iMate (HTC´s darlings ;-) )
If anybody says " i know there´s an update coming next week", he´s a bumhead. Nobody else than the developers can say when the new ROM arrives.
This topic isn´t worth a discussion ...
Mates ...thanks for all the help you gave me...
Cya M
They'll probably relaese 1.06 when QTek & iMate are @ 1.24
Annoying it is, if only i could get the iMate 1.06 flashed to my MDA Compact..

I was at the Cebit yesterday and I asked the TMO guys ... they told me that this will take another 3-4 weeks until TMO will launch the update.
Seems to be that they are going through several checks before they offer the firmware for download.

..which probably is a wise thing to do. After reading the thread about the iMate Jam 1.06.110 upgrade, I'm not to sure if they should've released that one. I guess T-Mobile just wants to make sure its release will not have any bugs or at least as little as possible.
And seriously now.. does the 1.06 rom really do give you THAT much more features or bugfixes?? Sure, I'd like the newest ROM installed in my MDA, just because it's the newest... but hey.. i'd rather have a good working 1.06 a couple of weeks later then a buggy version right now!

Just got off the phone with HTC!!!!!

According to Htc, and *****ing at their managers for an hour, I came to find out that they are currently working on a rom update for the Tytn II/Kaiser/Tilt to be released before mid febuary
-------------------------------------
In my opionion this is way to long!!!
----
They also said they cannot release any more details, although the only reason it is taking so long is because that they are trying to fix multiple things not just the video issues and they are trying to put them all into one package instead of having 10 different packages at once.
nice, thanks for the info.
i'll keep an eye out.
any more details, wm 6.1, gpu driver???
yup. do u have more details? or where we can find details about it?
(in my concern, they said me that they will send me an email when new updates are available )
Hey if they said they are working on a new rom update, that is WONDERFUL news!!!!!
Not to sceptical but...
Not to be downplaying the situation...but I will believe when I see it.
If its 6.1 ill crap myself.
If its 6.01* ill tell you all 'I told you so'
*6.01 meaning just a rom update, not an OS update
I believe they will release an updated ROM for the Kaiser, but I don't think it will solve the video driver issue.
HTC seems to ignore anything about this issue, and said they won't fix it.
However, I hope I'm just wrong and they do release a fix!
doubtful..
I dont care if it's 6.0 or 6.1 as long as the significant issues are fixed, like video drivers, laggy touch screen, freezing for 3 or 4 seconds at a time, PIE lag, and crappy camera.
rant
It really sucks that we are holding a powerful phone but cant use its true power, its just like owning a ferrari enzo and not being able to drive above 25mph. Maybe they wont fix it and just release a new phone with everything working and calling it tytn 3 with the same inside but a new case.
Sent a mail to HTC, will see what they will reply as to what the situation is. I hope for video driver fix at all!

Ahu..We will see..
yaaaay. cant wait.
look forward to upgrade
i hope they put their backs into it.. tired of this video issues...
I called HTC Middle East Support ; and they confirmed that they do not know this issue ? !! and I think they are not understanding what we are talking about !!
Maybe they will do it like Nokia and release a Tytn IIi and let the customer pay for fixing the Tytn II
edit: Oh and did I mention the Tytn IIi will come in a new color? Uh will definately get that one ;-)
(yeah, I'm a former Nokia N95 owner)
seeing is believing.. don't get your hopes up
Well lets just hold thumbs that it might just be 6.1 !
I hope they take care of the #$*@$!!$^@(!!!!! low bluetooth volume.

G1 and mytouch 3g users get android 2.5 update in january

http://droidheaven.com/2009/12/12/g1-and-mytouch-3g-to-get-2-5-update-in-january/
We get the Android 2.5 update in January!!!!! When Cyanogen/Dwang put this into their rom, everything is going to be EPIC
is there any actual proof for this?
if you look at the comments below the article droidheaven even said to go and ask t-mobile. i'm going to do that and hope.
UPDATE: I just talked to a T-Mobile Rep and he said he never heard of a 2.5 update coming in January. He checked and there is no documents. But there is hope. He also told me that there is an update and he won't be surprised if it was 2.5. One more thing. He said it is coming quickly.
LETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

boys this is HTC we are talkin about, if ur device is older than 6 or 7months old you get no support whatsoever i was shocked to hear the hero was getting 2.1 so il be amazed if the G1 gets 2.5 i hope u do tho
HTC already gave up on the Dream, however, Android Alliance will never give up on its devices, while T-Mo has to support it at least until it actually has a single device with a different CPU
if only the mytouch gets the 2.5 update can the g1 get it too? i don't mean like OTA update but cyanogen/dwang/someone turns 2.5 into a ROM?
they should really make devices that can go up at least one in updates (like from 1.x to 2.x or somewhere along that line)
AWSOME
This means I loose hope for good touchscreen with Keyboard from Tmobile
YES APPS are back in bussniess
T-mobile G1-Black
All roms from time to time
RA Recovery
coming but not soon iPhone apps on g1 installer.

Just throwing in my 2 sence about the update to 2.2

I have email both Samsung and ATT along with live chatin with both also. Email responces for both Samsung and ATT have been the same both times to an extent. What i did learn was with the live chat. ATT's live chat although pretty much the same as the email. The tec i talked to couldn't tell me when but he did shead some light on something which i didn't know. According to the tec ATT really doesn't have anything to do with the release and update. Here i thought from everything i have been reading it's been ATT draging their feet thats not the case. So Got a responce from Samsung asking pretty much the same thing i did in the ATT email. Asked when the 2.2 android update would be out. Coarse got back the same as i normaly did stating their working on bringing the best experence with the upgrade and download that they can. So it's coming. What i also did was added how the ATT tec said ATT doesn't have anything to do with the release and when it will be out. Samsung didn't correct me about this. So send all emails to Samsung maybe they will get tired of all the questions and be able to give us a time frame.
The response you got from Samsung is the same they have been throwing out for months. The AT&T reps are trained to always say it is not their fault.
Think what you want, but Samsung passed Froyo build to AT&T a while back, and AT&T is sitting on it. We have a Beta from October to prove that - it has all the ATT&T bloatware.
Unless you talk to a manager that knows about software releases (not a customer service person) you will only get canned responses.
Like every topic of this nature that has been posted and what the person above me said most of the people you talk to make it up as they go. At&t us the culprit behind the laggy release but of course they will tell you otherwise. What is the difference between a rogers and att phone that makes it samsungs fault?

Process =
1. Samsung readies firmware and gives to the carrier. ATT likely has had the firmware in hand since late November (the same time samsung gave it to T-mobile).
2. generally takes carrier 2-3 months to customize the firmware/test/lockdown features/install their bloatware etc. ATT definitely holding it back at this point but i think it will arrive sooner rather than later. I would say Verizon and ATT both got their firmware at same time as t-mobile they have just taken longer to finalize the update for the push. In ATT's case i would suggest it all hinges on them trying to lockdown the native MobileAP feature so you have to use their App with paid tethering.
2 cents.

Seriously. What's not unhelpful is out of date.
IT is getting increasingly galling at this point. I love how when you write to Samsung and ask, they say they can't provide an answer because it would lead to speculation and inaccurate information. But of course it's exactly yhe opposite that is actually true...
There is zero point to speculating/complaining about the lack of an official Froyo update. I'm not saying I don't sympathize, just that it's non-productive.
Samsung won't speculate because AT&T is sitting on this... here is more proof:
http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-...ncharset=UTF-8&solutionId=KB115196&isSrch=Yes
The title says it all "Send, Receive, or Delete a Picture, Audio or Video Message (MMS) with the Samsung Captivate (i897) with Android 2.2"
And Samsung's tweets to me confirm it... when pressed - they specifically said 2.2 had not been released to "Captivate Users".
I have always maintained that AT&T is sitting on the release. Why, I am not sure, but the fact that numerous support pages reference 2.2 indicates that they geared up to push it out a while ago - that means stable builds have been available or they would not have made support pages that have very specific screen shots.

Three UK sensation ICS

I have a sensation on Three uk and I have been checking daily for ICS update.
Today, I was talking to customer services about other issue and asked about ICS, they put me through the technical team, and when I asked, they said there is nothing going on with sensation.
I said other networks have released ICS for the Sensation, and they answer was that they don't have to do so, and for now there is no plan to do so either!
I was more waiting for an answer like: we are working on it, or we are testing it...
I know I could root and I have done this when I had my old HD2, but just can't be bothered to do it again lol
I was under the impression that if the software was released from HTC, it should be make available to all users??
Anybody knows what this policy is?
I've been with three for a few years and my experience is they are absolutely useless with firmware updates, your best bet is to just debrand, the only problem is you lose your warranty. and the firmware is released by HTC but its amended by operators and released for their handsets, so if three never bother to change and release the firmware you will never get it.
Will do as soon as warranty expires, I think I will be changing networks after this.
I need some kind of assurance that the phone I am stuck with for 24 months will get the updates released by the manufacturer or I'll go elsewhere...
I though I was getting closer to get rid of the screenshot and overheat problems, but I see that is not the case...
Three
I tweeted Three three times and each time they have told me it is in testing. A friend of mine got a 4.#### update the other day and he told me it made his phone really laggy. He is on three, I don't know why he got that.
Just take the plunge and flash a custom ICS ROM,
Its easy to revert back to stock if needed.... Either that or wait......... wait for a very long time..
Update today!
Three UK announced on their Twitter this afternoon that the ICS update for the HTC Sensation (Not XE/XL) has been rolled out.
The update should appear soon for you
