Orange SPV M2000 - General Topics

Help :?
I was in the UK recently and was given a SPV M2000.
Details are:
Operator version: 5.12.1.139
ROM version: 1.12.22 WWE
Radio version: 1.04.00
Protocol version: 1337.35
Ext ROM version: 1.12.139 WWE
I am a newbie and need detailed information how I can upgrade to the latest version using the I-Mate software. :?
Only I-Mates are sold here and I need to run as an I-Mate for support from my Service Provider.
I know this request may sound stupid, but I am willing to learn.
I am studying all the documentation for Beginners.

Ok here goes:
The device you have is known under i-mate brand as PDA2k.
So what you have to do is, get a hold of the suitable ROM (should be on the ftp) Then CID unlock it, then upgrade.
I never done this my self, but from what I've seen the Blue Angel WIKI on this forum is very extensive and should have the procedure properly documented.
I know service providers are often reluctant to support devices not sold by them. If the support you need can be obtained by phone you should try that before changing the ROM which is not a simple procedure. The basics of the OS are the same for all ROM's and just the extras are different so if you tell them you have an i-mate the instructions will still work.
Any way, good luck.

think the latest imate rom is 1.72 and you can get it from their site

I am adressing the problem here

Is it possible to use some qtek swedish image and put on the Imate Jam and then use the updates from qtek? It would also give me swedish T9.
This is my Dev Info
Rom Version 1.03.00 WWE
Radio 1.01.00
ExtROM 1.03.143 WWW
Please help me! I can't use my phone as I Intended and Vodafone/Imate can't help me at all.
This will probably be possible, but you will probably will have to adjust the iMate ROM. I don't know if it will work, but you could try the method which was written for the MDA Compact.
I don't know if this will work for the Qtek as well, since it was written for the MDA, maybe you would have to adjust certain things.. although i have no idea what.

Hi Robert,
Can you show me where the site above talks about resolving GPRS issues? I have the same exact problem with my S100 on T-Mobile in the US and can not find any updated ROM or updated Files. The rom that I did find is the same exact rom that was released about a month ago.
ROM Version: 1.06.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/06/05
Radio Version 1.05.00
ExtROM Version: 1.06.116 WWE
Thanks

Which ROM to use? (I've read tons of old post)

I have read a bunch of post on this but still not finding the answers. So, please forgive me if this is a repeat question.
I browsed thru the ftp site (under the Magician folder), but not sure of which ROM to download since there are so many of them and not sure of which is the most stable version (O2, i-mate, qtek, MDA?).
I have the O2 XDA II mini with the following version:
- ROM version: 1.03.00 WWE.
- ROM date: 11/01/04
- Radio version: 1.01.00
- Protocol version: 1337.38
- ExtROM version: 1.03.166 WWE
Or, should I use the one that I downloaded from seeo2.com site: the filename is:
ma_o2asia_11100_922_11100_ship.exe?
Also, when I update the ROM, would it lock my phone? I bought the phone in USA so I assume the phone is unlock.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
William
I'd use the Qtek S100 1.11 ROM (it's what i use now) as it's completely stable (1.12 seems not to be..) and then apply bigstorage to it..
How about the O2 ROM? I'd like to stay with O2 ROM (instead of using the Imate or Qtek ROM). Could anybody point me to the correct ROM to use? I browsed around the ftp but there are so many of them (extrom, bigstorage, modified, shipped). Thanks for the help!

The O2 ROM on their website was put up in May and is v1.11 and it's working OK for me.
I bought a T-Mobile Compact, and someone had loaded the I-Mate 1.11 ROM on there. I kept having a problem wth the GPRS failing to connect. I then upgraded to the 1.12 ROM, and it was even worse. I kept the 1.12 radio, and then downgraded to the basic 1.06 ROM. It is stable, and honestly, I don't see what the differences are besides now I can connect to GPRS whenever I want.
I also applied the bigstorage hack, and only applied the basic extended ROM cab files from 1.12 and the bluetooth patch from 1.06. I received my Compact last week, and applied 1.06 yesterday. So far, no issues have cropped up. Man, this Compact is so much less buggy than my MDAIII. The MDAIII was so feature packed, but had sooo many problems.
Hope that helps.
plz, give me a link to O2 1.11eng, i cannot log to o2 as my iemi belongs to imate, thanks

Krome Spy ( Imate Jam Clone from Australia) Can I update ROM

Hello,
I recently purchased a Krome Spy (www.krome.co.au) which is in all respects a Magician, except for a few cosmetic changes.
The system info is
rom version: 1.12.00WWE
rom date: 05/28/05
radio version: 1.12.00
protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM: 1.12.136WWE
The price was right and that got the better of me and I bought it over the Imate Jam. Of course both are the same thing in different shells.
My question is.....
1. Can I update the ROM to the latest version?
2. Can someone tell me how I can do it? I am a physican, so my tech skills are not at par with you guys I need some detailed step by step instructions. ( hope I'm not asking too much)
3. Where can I find the ROMs and by the way what is a BIG Rom I heard some guys talk about?
Thanks in advance.
regards,
rohseq

Did you try to search and read this easy manual ????
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=14973
Thanks a lot guys. I will try that out. I'll talk to the local service center before that and see if they cn do the new rom update for free.
But I will definitely have a look at that post.

The Krome Spy has the same casing as the Orange SPV M500, Dopod 818 and Vodafone VPA Compact. This style looks better, in my opinion, than the other shape used by the I-Mate Jam etc.

WM6 For Wizard I_Mate K-Jam

Hi peoples
I got the I-Mate K-Jam which is also known as the Wizard. Bought in South Africa. Its unlocked, and I have been trying two different roms from this website. The one from "mUn" I think and another one, not sure who made it, forgot. The problems is that both of these updates send me the message saying that the update utility is too old. How do I fix this and which is the most stable and ideal version of WM6 for the Wizard?
Please try and post a link.
Thanks
Info of my phone:
ROM Version: 2.16.9.1 WWE
ROM Date: 2/6/06
Radio Version: 02.07.10
Protocol Version: 413.1.03
ExtROM Version: 2.16.9.101
you have the cid unlock it and then follow the procedure from there..ther are millions..and i well mean millions of people who have asked this question
just search for it.. you need to use shelltool to install that ROM..

Newbie questions

Hi all
Just joined this forum since I am looking to change my HTC ELSF0100 to another network here in the UK. Want to change from Orange to O2 due to the coverage limitations of Orange in my area.
I'm not very familiar with phones, other than using them of course! ;-)
I understand I can simply unlock the phone, but then internet and mail won't work. Reading through some of the threats here made me realize that I need to flash the ROM in the phone, correct?
So..
What ROM file should I use? I noticed there are a lot.. Just want the normal/standard stuff
How do I go about flashing the ROM?
Some details from my phone:
Operator version: 23.116.1.611
ROM version: 1.16.61.1 WWE
ROM date: 06/20/07
Radio version: 02.95.90
Protocol version 4.1.13.45
Can somebody help me with the change-over?
Many thanks!
Jan

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Elf
