I have a wired gps for tomtom in my car that works great
My question is I also have a basic garmin gps that outputs a nmea string same as the wired one in car is there a lead available to conect it to my SPV M1500 (alpine) so i can use tomtom while walking around a strange town while on holiday or would i be better just getting a bluetooth gps
Ps Garmin etrex has a lead from it to a standard rs232 serial plug

Parrot CK3000 Bluetooh

Hey,
could someone please advice my on the Parrot bluetooth before I go out and buy one.
Is it compatabile with the XDA II, when you use the Tom Tom does the instruction go through the bluetooh or is it heard through it own speaker.
I've heard that the parrot bluetooth connect trough the car speakers is this correct or does it have its own speakers?
Any information would be very greatful.
Regards
Gigi

Yes, it connects through the car speakers.
Take a look at http://www.parrot.fr

Don't think so - Parrot can play back phone calls through the car stereo (provided you have the right leads) but AFAIK TOM TOM doesn't route voice through the blue tooth headset.
If you want to go this route you need a wired car kit that basically takes audio from the wired headet socket.
Parrot in general is pretty cool but not as robust as some other BT phone kits. There are some new kits coming out now (the CK3300 WILL do what you want with the TOM TOM). But the XDA is still pretty poor for handsfree use in the car.
I have the Parrot CK 3300 with the XDAII running TT2. I can't manage to get the voice commands from TT2 out of the headset BT to the car speakers. Can't seem to find a setting in XDA settings or TT2.
Anyone got any ideas?
FYI phone works fine and voice commands work also have wifes T39m paired up and it will receive a call on either phone. havent tried phone on T39m and GPS to XDAII simultaneous yet though.
Can't delete 'beamed' contact from CK3300 and dont want to remove voice tags via deleting pairing.
Oh and if XDAII not GPS paired, ie while at work Tom tom slower than a DEAD snail! Anyone got idea on that?.
Parrot beats plugging it in!

Bluetooth car phone kit and Bluetooth Tomtom

Can you have both work at the same time??? Bluetooth car phone kit and Bluetooth Tomtom.
:? Thanks Peter.
Yes you can, i do it with my HCB300 car kit and a Bluetooth GPS.
(i thought it was not possible too ... i think it can be done because car kit uses a diferent protocol than Bluetooth gps ...)
But it is possible and works fine!

Wired GPS and Blue tooth Audio

Stream audio from TP to Garmin via Bluetooth?

Is there a way to stream audio via Bluetooth from the TP to my Garmin Nuvi 780? The phone syncs via bluetooth well.
The Garmin has an FM transmitter which works well in my car.
Of course, I could just pop the sd card outta the fuze and into the garmin, but what fun would that be?
