bluetooth audio, got any better since that cab? - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Hi,
I have the cab installed so my bluetooth headset (ht820) works. but only with windows media player. i want to use different programs for mp3's, but also for making music with griff music studio.
is it possible?
thanks

I suppose I've installed MS BT stack (as I did too). I am using MortPlayer-3.31b48 - I am rather satisfied with its functionality. Only two notice: U should rename MortPlayer.exe into wmplayer.exe and run it. And 2nd notice: only streams with bitrate not less than 128Kbit are routed via BT. U also could try to use TCPMP - in the last version it has support of A2DP & AVRCP. I can't say anything about using griff.
Question to informed people:
- is there some way to play mp3's with low-bitrate (may be some output plugins for players or patches for players, system)?
- Have somebody expirience installing Broadcom BT stack on Magician? All my attempts failed.

BTW - any ideas is appreciated. TIA )

What media player will stream to bluetooth and play .mp4???

Have a load of .mp4 music files.
MS Media player will not play these? any plug in
Other players wont stream via a2dp on my magician.
Looking for a player that streams mp4's to bluetooth.
RE: What media player will stream to bluetooth and play .mp
The Core Media Player with aac plugin . The plugin can be found here : http://www.rarewares.org/aac.html and the player here : http://www.tcmp.org/
hmm This is for windows not a mobile device
I was thinking of mobile device support from pocket media player. under WM 5.0

Nope, it's not only for windows... you can find a pocketpc download here:
http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=53&release_id=225#r225
It's also the only player for pocketpc with decent h.264 playback...
Tried before
Tried this before, nice player for videos, but never got the streaming over bluetooth to activate like it does automatically when paired and using pocket windows mobile.
Tried all latest codecs no joy.
Will try latest program version and downloads.
streeming is not a player issue if the os dont support the bluetooth A2DP profile
pretty sure even wm2005 dont
It works fine from windows pocket media
just want the sound from tcpmp to come out the same way over my headphones , wireless
GDawes: I don't get it. You're talking about both the Magician and WM5? Which one are you using?
To use A2DP on the magician, you need to install a new Bluetooth stack. Check out my app VJVolubilis here, which may help you out, and alternatively, read Chatty's post towards the end (as of now)

Why start another thread and post it twice. I believe it would be best if you post in the thread regarding A2DP.

A Better Media Player?

I just got a new stereo bluetooth headset (Samsung SBH-170) and I had feared this would happen.
Up till now I've been using TCPMP to view my videos and listen to my music, since it can pretty much do everything that Windows Media Player is missing. But now I run into something that WMP offers that TCPMP doesn't: compatibility.
None of the buttons on the headset will work with TCPMP. However, WMP doesn't let me create/save playlists, watch DivX/XviD encoded movies, and eats up my program memory.
So is there any other media players out there that would work, or perhaps an updated version of TCPMP or WMP to fix these issues?
I have Sompy on my computer, but I can't recall why I'm not using it.
Edit:
I have a Wizard and have updated to T-Mobile's latest release.
I've been actively searching for something, but I can't find much. There are some apps that support music only, but who would want three media players on your device? I've also found a program that allows creation and editing of WMP playlists.
Update:
Found CorePlayer, which appears to be the commercial version of TCPMP (let me know if I'm late on this), but there is still some issues with stereo bluetooth control.
Wait for jan 2007 when Betaplayer will be released (www.betaplayer.com)
Well thats confusing. Why is CoreCodec releasing an opensource player to compete with their commericial player?
Oh, and I found another reason to hate WMP. When listening to my music, it will become distorted (either noticably slower or faster so the tone changes) and then stop, then start again with the distortion and get better later. This does not happen with TCPMP though.
This is lame.
More info on BetaPlayer here: http://www.corecodec.com/forum/index.php?topic=3565.0
Did never had those speed fluctuations ou mentioned with WMP on 2003SE as you mentioned.

[Q] Streaming System Sound from Win7 to Android

Hey guys, after a full afternoon of searching I turn to you for help.
As the title says, I'm looking for a way to stream my Win System Sound to my SGS. Not specific media like movies or music, the entire Master Mix. Either through an App or through a Windows Server of some kind.
I already tried VLC Stream & Convert but failed miserably setting it up to capture and stream my Desktop correctly - got just the image, no sound. Also couldn't get it so stream a captured DirectShow Device, for the simple reason that my Win-VLCPlayer can't seem to find any.
Any hints on how to get it working or links on further reading are much appreciated.
manup0d
Managed to get it working, kinda.
For those interested: The problem with the DirectShow Device streaming through VLC is the original Windows7 audio driver for Sound On Board Mainboards. You have to install the Vista driver to be able to select the Stereo Mix as a Recording Device. DRM says hello. With the Vista codec you just select "Capture DirectShow" in VLC Stream & Convert and voila. (pro version is needed)
The issue now is the six second lag I get even over WiFi. XD
Have to play around with the transcoding and codec settings. Any advice or other solutions?
Hi Manup0d!
Could you give me a few pointers on how you got this working with VLC Stream & Convert?
All I get is... well, nothing. I suppose I have the same audio driver issue - where did you get the Vista driver? Or did you just download your sound card manufacturer's Vista driver set and install that?
Have you found any possibility other than VLC, by any chance?
I'd love to be able to do this, for listening to music with one of the many Winamp Remote Control apps...
-edit- Works on Windows 7 if you use "Virtual Audio Cable" as the sound device (just set it as the default device or set it as the audio device in the app you're trying to hear audio from), then run VLC Stream & Convert regularly and use "Open Input => DirectShow".
The delay really is annoying though - between 5 and 15 seconds on WiFi . Have you found a way to get rid of, or at least reduce the delay? Anything under 5 seconds would be fine

Media Player 10 Probs

Hi folks,
I've been trying a couple of ROMs to breathe new life into my old Tornado Noble, but have run into a problem with Media Player 10. Same issue on WM6 Platinum SP1 and Gregory's 6.5.
Some music tracks just will not play. I used the desktop media player to sync them (all mp3) with no issues, i've tried re-coding them to 128Kbps, and copying them over, but the same tracks just give an error. They play fine on all the PPC versions of media player mobile, just not on this smartphone version.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any pointers!
*I re-coded to WMA128k and everything plays, which i'll use as a workaround. But, i'd still like to find out why MP10 has difficulties with some mp3s and not others (same album).

perhaps it is because the source filter for WMP was not loading properly! you try it with this application, maybe it can fix and do too little change in the registry like this -> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ UIPlugins\{D7D08B8C-E755-4fa9-8E79-139FA379E00E}]
"FriendlyName"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Description"="HTC WMP Control Plug-in"
"Capabilities"=dword:0 --> change it to = 1
after that soft reset your device....
Thanks for the effort Hakim, but that didn't help. WMP just seems determined not to like mp3s.

Really? then you should try to use the application free MP3/MP4/M4A/AAC/WMA/WAV/M3U/PLS/ASX v0.83 S2P player. It simply lets you browse your music files play &. It is fully integrated with S2U2; & supports A2DP AVRCP &.
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556885 to get it
Not sure if S2P (Slide to Play) will work on a smartphone without touchscreen. You may wish wish to check out tcpmp as well. Commercial products are also Coreplayer or PocketPlayer.
There may also be something weird with these special MP3 that don't work. Can you find anything in common for those that do not work? Lookup some mp3 checker program with Google. You could also upload a faulty track here (or at mediafire or alike) so we can check that with our devices/ROMs?
