Backup Battery - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Well, i changed the housing of my Qtek S100, from a scratchy grey one to a Black one, but since it took to much time, and my backup battery was not in good conditions, it died, anyone knows what type of battery it is? dont want to open it to check and then go out to buy it. Anyone?

NEvermind, just realized that its rechargeble also.

Back-up Battery

I've got a O2 XDA, the main battery is fully charged (green led constant) but it still shows backup as 25% CHARGED. PLease provide some insight.
Thanks.
If you leave it on charge overnight and it is still showing 25% then it would seem the backup battery will soon need replacing. Go to this link for the location of the backup battery. I think you will need to send this to the authorised repair centre otherwise you will invalidate warranty by opening the phone and breaking the security seal. Why they design a phone with a battery that isnt externally accessible is a bit dumb or maybe its another money spinner for the repair shop.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaHardwareOverview
Thanks for that. Its actually a Wallaby, does any one know where the battery is located, and what battery is it?
It will still need taking apart to locate the battery unfortunately. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver and a T6 torx driver.
Dunno Where You Get that From?!?!??!?! The XDA I has NO Backup Battery and If it did it's Attached to the Back of the MAIN Battery? Come on Cruisin! Didn't you have an XDA 1? sometime in your life?
Yes Collins I have stripped many xda's, and he will need to take the xda apart to access the battery, I dont think I said there was a backup except when referring to xda 2 which was not what the guy was after unfortunately. I read "O2 XDA" as "XDA 2", I was also thrown by the 25% charged statement becuase every xda 1 that I have had even with wm2003 doesnt show any backup in the settings.
When you open the xda using the T6 torx and small screwdriver you will find that the battery is firmly attached to the backplate of the xda, if you lever up one corner and then apply a little force it will lift up. Having ascertained that you have an xda1, any reading you are getting under your power settings backup battery is a glitch, if the main battery is showing good then you should ignore the other part. Which rom are you using?

2250 Battery from ebay ->LED Amber and Green

I i bought a 2250mAh Battery from eBay for my S710.
When i put it, i am unable to power the phone on.
When i put it to charge (USB or original charger), right LED stitches flashing green (2Sec) an anber (3 Sec)
Any Idea?
Hello
Just try to replace your batt.
I had the same problem, and push strongly the batt.
I've seen that the "right contact" at the vox is bit shorter. i was adjusting it a bit and now it works
sirride, who did you purchase it from on eBay? I got my 2250mAH and I am still waiting for a battery cover as it does not fit.
What did you do to the right pin to "adjust it"? My amber LE keeps flashing, I'll try to pad the last contact with some wire and see what happens.
I bought it from dmc-batteries, Uk. It took 10 working-days and there came a new battery-cover with..
I took a "Office" to pull the rightest (-) contact a bit more out as it was a bit "shorter" then the other 3 at the vox.
but i think it would also help to put a bit of a wire or metal to the "hole in the battery"
When you compare original and ebay battery, you see that the plastic around the contacts is much bigger at the ebay-thing. Thats why the contact at the phone doesnt reach the battery (which is giving the amber light)
Sorry for my description, i am not native english speeking...
I bought one off a seller and it's not the right battery, so I think I will purchase one off dmc-batteries.
How do you like it so far? Can you take some pictures to show how much bigger it makes the handset?
Thanks.
Here you are
Now I again dont get it startet.
About the "lasting" of the battery, I cant tell yet. I was once fully charching and within 24h, it dropped to 59%, having WLAN permanently on.
edit:
Just found out that the "right" connector isnt to short, but he "hangs" at the Batteryhousing.
So if you buy the Battery. just look carefully when you put the battery that the rightest connector (vox) enters the "hole" (bat)
Here you see the problem....
Phone ain't too sexy with that batt cover.
Now it looks very much like this phone:
http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/resources/2006/08/old-cell-phones-get-cingular-fee.jpg
I'll stick with charging every other day.
Wow, much larger will the cover on but double the capacity will be worth it, I have my battery now - I'm just waiting on a new cover.
Thanks for posting up the pictures.

Battery goes Unknown

Hi, i'm searching forum for few days, and cannot find answer for my problem. On my Uni is Ranju 7.6, and all was ok.
Few days ago, when i was searching in TomTom, my Uni said, I had to replace battery or stack in recharge cable. I found, it happens when i'm doing somethimg memory intensive. For example playing Revival, using TomTom, or yesterday when browsing xda-dev. So battery appears "unknown battery" and all pda goes off.
I know, uni is checking battery every minute, but sometimes it cannot find battery... doesn't mattery if battery is full or not full.
Can it be hardware prob? I remamber, few days ago i fell off my bicycle, my uni was in case, in backsack, so nothing could happend to him, but maybe the shock?
Uni is too sensitive to shock, deeply sorry to say that ur Uni is having a series hardware problem. I had dropped my ex-uni from about 1 meter distance and even it has any apparent signs of the drop, even any minor scratch, but it lost its external speakers' sound and i had to change its main board.
oh But I saw my friend, who fell uni many times on floor, and nothing happend to it

it is somesort of luck, and the fact that the shock is transmited via the Uni case to the main board, and if it reached a weak point it will affect the IC related to that point. If the Uni is lucky, the force of shock may go to the case itself with microsocopic or visible cracks in nonfunctioal part.
Also, try another battery, may be the shock went to it, and assure that the second pin from upside is well conducted. In addition, try to clean the battery conducting plates and the uni conducting pins with alcohol.
thanks for advises, i'll try.

Also using Ranju's but 7.7. I never had this problem before with any rom. Just I bought a new clone battery, since then I always have this problem. it seems the infolithium is not working very well in this clone battery. I got used to it. Or just buy a new orginal battery. I don't care much about it I can live with it
The problem is the battery.
WM6 and 6.1 Roms and also later radio versions require more power for all of the various functions than the plain old wm5 roms.
Make sure that the battery is an original ( not a cheap Ebay clone)
It is also worth buying one that is slightly higher than the standard battery.
The problem occurs because the battery is unable to supply enough power in times of high demand.
I have had the same problem with old batteries too.
Also, it is advisable to flash a new rom with a full 100% battery charge.
Cheers,
Beasty
last year, i had an o2 exec, it fell off my pocket when i was riding my motorcycle. imagine the impact caused on my exec as it fell to the ground, rolling for a number of times, bumping almost all sides. luckily i placed it in the leather holster, only the corners are exposed thus having few scratches only.
after that incident, i notice that my screen had a stuck or shall i call it dead pixel. aside from this, all else are working. so i guess our universal is rather tough than what we expect it to be.

[Q] Nexus 4 LG model battery replacement london service

Dear friends,
my nexus 4 is 1 1/2 years old now. while its a great phone the battery now dies too fast. its hardly few hours. always remembering charging is an issue. also the extra portable power has to be used so much frequently.
Its now out of warranty. as one year has passed. i cannot for sure change battery myself. Pls let me know is there any service repair center in your experience where i can get this battery replaced for nexus 4.
I am based out of london and if its in london the better.
kindly advice thank you
I have seen that you can replace the battery yourself if you are careful enough, there are tutorials with step-by-step pictures.. As for the battery, an Optimus G battery will also work, but you must make sure the battery is authentic; I have read that there are lots of counterfeit ones offered online.

hello
I replaced my n4 battery last week with a battery claiming to be genuine from ebay uk.
it was quite easy the tricky part is the adhesive holding the battery down its pretty strong stuff.
When I bought the battery I didn't know if it actually was genuine or not, but after fitting it it appears to work as I remember my n4 working when I first had it.
I would recommend you do it yourself one other thing if the phone has never been opened, the clips for the rear half of the case are difficult to undo, so take care when prying open the back.

this link is the exact battery I have used. If you want any more info just ask ill do my best to help you.

Hi,
I live in Holland and I want to buy the original battery.
How is it holding up?
Are you getting more SOT than before?
Thanks in advance!
Hey guys, I ran into some issues after replacing my battery. I bought this one, it look identical to the original I think.
After replacing it, my phone gets the red LED light if I try to hold Power to turn it on. The only way to turn it on is by entering fastboot mode (Power + Vol Down).
The phone would not reboot itself on software commands (ie. rebooting from recovery menu or "fastboot reboot"), the only way is to enter fastboot mode when the phone is off. Secondly, the battery icon does have the lightning charging sign, however the status said it's "Not charging". There is no green charging light. Right now the battery percentage is decreasing as I use the phone.
I am able to transfer files to the phone if I connect it to the computer, I have to assume it is charging even though the phone doesn't update the battery info. I am running fully factory stock firmware, Android 5.0.1.
I wonder if this is an issue with the battery, or if I need to completely drain it or some extra step I need to perform? Thanks.
Nevermind, it was a faulty battery and I'm getting an exchange. I guess they stored it for a so long.

I don't think it's the official one..
you can buy the original one here: http://www.spareslg.com/bateria-lg-e960-nexus-4-lg-optimus-g-e975-eac61898601.html
My N4's battery was starting to expand. I noticed it when the Qi orb charger stopped working and the glass was lifting up on the front left side. I did the replacement myself and it was not too hard. I would suggest watching the YouTube videos a few times over. As for tools, I borrowed the screwdrivers from my office, guitar pics and a hair dryer from my wife. As for how long it took, it was about an hour. You will need a lot of patience with opening the phone and prying out the old one. As for the battery, I figured I would get what I paid for, so I avoided the $10 ones on Amazon and Ebay as there were too many bad reviews there. I was able to buy a brand new (non OEM) one from Radio Shack online and ship it too the store down the street.
http://www.radioshack.com/dantona-3-8v-2100mah-li-poly-battery-for-lg-bl-t5/55076584.html
I can now get 24hrs up time with light use (stock 5.0.1).
My N4 works great, and he has 2 years old LOL.
Battery works great also :3

How to change the battery?

Hi
The battery on my watch has "bulged". Does anybody know of a guide explaining how to change it? When the back is removed, all that can be seen is the next 'black covered layer' with no visible screws or clips...
Any ideas?
I found this, although it's for the original but may be similar:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/LG+Watch+Urbane+Battery+Replacement/50228
And you can get a battery on EBay.
