I am not able to use the receiver with Autoroute 2004(pocket streets). The manual suggests that I ensure a virtual COM port is established before connecting the receiver, which I am not able to get around. I am lost and stuck with an expensive receiver. Can some help, please? ASAP
Daz, when you try to run the program does it give the option to choose your gps/com port?
no, nothing came up on the screen. Fortunately I have been able to resolve the problem. Need to disable to incoming beam option in connection setting
I currently have the same problem with rakaline 6031-x7 and tomtom navigator. I use to connect the gps reciever via blutooth manager as slave and then set it up in tomtom on my ipaq. now I can't find any options in bluetooth settings on my xda2. Any chance of a little help?
:?
gavcha, the xda2 is braindead where bluetooth is concerned, are you running the latest gps 2.09 from tomtom? If you are using that and it still isnt working, download towas patch, remove the gps from the bonding on your bluetooth, install towas patch, run tomtom wizard, gps manager in discoverable mode, add device in bt manager by choosing "new", choose the gps, ok everything, towas patch should then come up and give you the serial option, choose that. When finished go to tomtom gps, choose tomtom bluetooth and in the second drop down your gps should be available, choose that and it should work.
Cheers mate. me being the impatient ba£$%rd that I am found this site
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
Very usefull, up and running in no time. Seems to be in the same vein as your suggestion. Thanks for all your help I am slowly getting use to this xda milarky! Finaly I can sell the Ipaq!!!!
Cheers again.
Good to know it works, when O2 release the update it should get better, by the way that link you posted has been a pain in the ass for me, I have clicked that link in numerous posts and NEVER been able to connect, I have the patch now but does anybody else have problems linking to the above link.?
yeah i had problems going back to it when i was checking it to put it in my last post. try googling xda2 bluetooth manager. thats what took me to another forum with the link to this. worth a try.
has anyone in Australia got Copilot GPS bluetooth version to sucessfully work with their XDAII.
I can get mine to bond but not to pick up the GPS signal when in the copilot program. Any clues? ideas?
I have the latest ROM 1.60.00WWE and Radio 1.08.00
Cheers,
xda or xdaII
same problem with xda and cable GPS receiver, XDA will not recognise or open the com port for the receiver. No joy yet from Co-pilot tech support.

Guess I'm about to find out..
:? I just ordered Co-pilot for delivery monday. I have latest XDA Asia rom, also BT tools package loaded, and generally find most port openings and applications flakey. Apps crash, no GPS info displayed or satellite histograms. Monitor untilities go for a while and stop or crash.
I have used Navigator for a while from Magellan fails on BT, works on Com1 with wired GPS, but wanted to switch to co-pilot for much greater functionality.
I have Holux GR-230 GPS which canbe wired or BT, and a home buily GPS receiver based on a motorola module which has RS-232 conversion to connect to XDA-II via serial cable to com 1. This worked with NAvigator, Holux is problematic with Navigator.
Will advise here how I go..
Using Copilot with XDA II
I have been using Copilot version 4.0. You would need to install Tobias excellent utility which allows you to create a virtual serial port. You can download it from http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html.
Install this utlity and it will allow you to open a serial com port from within the Copilot program. Copilot is quite cool! I use it to navigate my way around Sydney.
Hope this helps.
Ray
Grout, dont forget to disable IR beams rx settings for wired
Thanks raykan, I'm in the same position as you so should be ok when I get co-pilot.
As per the title, Grout if you have a wired GPS, you need to disable the XDA-II IR Beam tick box as it somehow shares resources with the hardware serial com port 1 and applications that try to open com port one fail to open the port.
I have had most success with wired GPS on COm port 1.
CHeers,
Success so far..
Well, I can't be an expert after one day, but for those wanting to know about XDA-II and Travroute Co-pilot Australian version here are a few things that may help...
1. It's more than 10 tims better functionality and reliability than the previous package I had from Magellan Perth call Navigator.
2. Very configurablem but I installed the SD card and right away the software installed itself from the card and I was running 5 minutes later. Definately a QUICKSTART. The CD allows you to recreate the card, install via activesync, and install on the PC desktop.
3. Works with my Holux GR-230 BT GPS (I use the excellent BT tools) on COM7. Also works on COM1 with my home made GPS via serial port.
4. The manual says the internet live function is extra cost, but it works fine. The desktop version can communicate via internet to the mobile via GPRS and show the location on a map for tracking, also you can send messages to the mobile including redirecting its route/destination and the mobile can accept or not. VERY GOOD.
5. Not sure of home much GPRS traffic is used as my GPRS cost tracking software does not register it in the reports. COuld be a setup problem.
6. I'm VERY impressed so far. Tracking with GPRS is very good.
No doubt I'll find more + or - but if you wonder if it works on XDA-II currend 1.6 WWE edition the answer is yes!
Cheers
Previously i had TomTom3.0 with BTHTools and a Holux BT GR230 GPS
and it worked fine.
I recently upgraded to ROM 1.72.00 WWE so i no longer needed BTHTools and it still works fine.
EXCEPT : When the GPS receiver is not found (BT turned off or GPS off or out of range), TomTom freezes or slows down terribly. This didn't happened with my previous rom/BTHTools)
upgraded to TT Navigator 3.03 and TT GPS 3.03 but that didn't help.
I found others reporting the same problem in other threads,( see Kim71 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3341&start=350 ) but this specific problem was lost in the mainstream of those threads.
anything usefull will be greatly appreciated
The only way I found to get over this was to deselect the gps in tomtom before closing down each time, it would then need selecting if you wish to use bluetooth gps. If this wasnt done and bluetooth gps was switched off when starting tomtom the pda would slow to a crawl, I know it isnt a perfect fix but seemed to work ok for me.
the problem is you have selected the wrong com port in the gps setting (i have 3 to choose from on mine!) first uncheck the box on the left. then drop the menu and select 'bluetooth gps'. Then turn on the receiver and the check the box again
that should sort it.

Right now i have NMEA 0183V2 Bluetooth / COM5:
Tried to uncheck : OK
Tried choosing Bluetooth GPS : OK
Tried to check : NOK it simply will not check :?
is the reciever switched on?
As I have posted earlier in other threads and other sites, I have the exact same issue.
However there seem to be people that have got it to work without any extras installed.
Only port to get TomTom to work with my DConnex DC-230 (=rebadged Holux GR-230) is COM5.
I cant tick the blue box with 'Bluetooth GPS' in the lower combo=box.
To get by for now by I digged into the registry.
I created 2 CAB's that do the following:
Set the registry value of TomTom GPS to enabled or disabled.
By starting one of these CAB's I can easily enable of disable the GPS. Would be nice to have a Today Plugin that toggles the TomTom GPS Enabled value (any volunteers???)
BUT I see this solution only as a work-around.
The solution MUST be in selecting 'Bluetooth GPS' instead of 'COM5'.
The task is to find out on how to achieve that.
Any help appreciated.
Hi
i still have rom 1.66.00wwe. and BTTools installed
i run the latest tt gps v3.3 (?) and a fortuna bt clipon.
I can check the box with 'bluetooth gps' without any problems.
You might want to visit www.pocketgps.co.uk
The forums are excellant
i hope this is of use

Pilgrim,
I allready noticed the excellent forums on pocketgps.co.uk, but until now I only got the advise to select Bluetooth GPS instead of COM5. And that is just what is not possible with my 1.72 rom . . .
 Like I said: any suggestions are more than welcom, as is an offer to creat a small program (Today plugin!) that toggles the Enabled registry value of TomTom GPS.
If anyone wants to write that pgm, he might consider simultaneously turning bluetooth on / off.
State 1 : Bluetooth on / TT GPS enabled
State 2 : Bluetooth off / TT GPS Disabled
even better: Make that configurable (via registry setting or whatever lean & mean) for both states
I have been investigating this annoying issue with "ronald2oo2".
He does not have any issues like we do with his 1.72.00WWE ROM.
We did notice some interesting differences between his and my device-behaviour. Also the registry settings between him and me are quite different.
The biggest difference between the two devices is the origin of the OS rom. He uses the iMate based rom, I use the Qtek based rom.
Could anyone with 1.72.00WWE OS ROM, BT GPS and TT3 please post:
1. If (s)he has the possibility of checking the blue--ish box in TomTom GPS when the post is set to 'Bluetooth GPS': YES / NO and with what protocol (NMEA, SiRF, GPS specific)
2. What the origin of the 1.72.00WWE (OS!) rom is: QTEK, IMATE, T_MOBILE beta, . ....
I experienced the same problem for several months now and hoped that it would dissapear when I upgraded to TT3.07 and TT GPS 3.07 but it still didn't work.
Then I came across this post and started playing myself with these settings and found a solution. I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection with my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver
I have a Qtek 2020 with 1.72.00WWE OS ROM and Rikaline 6030 BT GPS and TT3.07
I was able to check the blue-ish checkbox with Bluetooth GPS setting after choosing 'NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth' in the drop down list above 'Bluetooth GPS' and after unchecking 'Outbound COM port: COM5' in my Bleutooth Settings (Start -> Settings -> System).
I hope I am helping a lot of people who have the same problem as I did for months and didn't find a solution for it.
Cheers,
Gino
The sentence: 'I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection with my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver' should read 'I can now use TomTom Navigator 3.07 with a bluetooth connection without my Rikaline 6030 GPS receiver'
Or without bluetooth turned on at all. Sorry for the confusion. Must be getting tired
Gino
Did you have to delete the existing bonds?
Because i tried your solution and it still won't let me choose "Bluetooth GPS". Am i doing something wrong? or is it some else different between our xdaII?
I don't know exactly where the bluetooth drivers come from. Can you check if you have OEM_WWE_04071402.sa.CAB in your ExtROM?
or another OEM_WWE_04???????.sa.CAB.
No I didn't have to remove the existing bond(s). I just first unchecked the Outbound COM5 setting in Bluetooth settings, then I removed the checkmark in the GPS Settings so I could select the NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth option and then I selected Bluetooth GPS. Checked the check box again and closed all open windows and everything was working fine with or without bluetooth/GPS receiver .
Regarding your other question, where can I find this info about the OEM_WWE_04??????.sa.CAB file. I remember looking in the extROM but I forgot where to find it. I'll do a quick search to see if I can find it again.
Cheers,
Gino
you have to install extendedromunlocker
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8422&highlight=extendedromunlocker
and then unhide it, and then you would be able to see what's in there.
I also have OEM_WWE_04071402.sa.CAB in my ExtROM. I remember that my Bluetooth connection was not turned on when I tried to change the settings.

I have Radio version 1.14.00. Is this different from your version? I see that in your profile you pur 1.12.00 but I have noticed that 1.14.00 is not available.
I allready heard from 'ronald2oo2' that he is able to choose the Bluetooth GPS 'port' in TomTom GPS. I went thru all the options with him but still I cant select the 'Bluetooth GPS'. Also TomTom could not provide me with an answer, they eventualy offered to test my MDAII, but thats not an option since I rely on my MDAII.
BUT: I ams till using TomTom GPS 3.03. I will try the update tomorrow since maybe this version has some changes specific for Himalaya . . .
hello and happy new year to all!!!!
i have tried all wwe roms from wwe 03 up till present wwe 05 rom which im currently using on my htc magician device.i keep trying everyone of these roms in hope to get tomtom 7 up and running.i cant get my external gps devise to be seen by tomtom i get as far as pairing via bluetooth i have gpsgate and also gps proxy gps2blue also tried gps test version 1.04 which scanns ports but still does not find my gps! my gps devise is bt 541 holox which working fine with nokia n95 but due to tomtom mobile maps being up to date. i would be gratefull if some one might help me step by step manythanks
Hi Mr Joe,
I've tried to use Tomtom 7 with wwe 03 and same problem.
The only way to use it that i've found is to download GPS proxy on this site :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gpsproxy/
You had to add a outgoing port in your GPS BTH (port 6 by exemple)
With gps proxi , you've to create a virtual port 4 (automatically) and via the option, configure entry port 6 and outgoing port n° 4.
with tomtom, u choose port 4 for you GPS and it's works.
hi thank you for your swift reply
i tried as mentioned above and gps proxy says
the nmea input provider failed to start creatfile failed 55
lol still pulling hair out i must have spent about 60 hours searching forums and diffrent apps
after uninstalling gps proxy i reinstalled gps proxy to find error on screen saying i needed opennetcf.sdf.ppc.arm.cab im still searching for this file lol
every time i try install gps proxy it say you need blah blah file befor it will work i keep downloading these diffrent files and installing them then keep uninstalling gpsproxy 2.2. then again and again .......... im so frustrated all i want is tomtom 7 up and running with my gps device. is there anybody who has wwE 05 FOR 64MB DEVICE who has not had to spend approx 65 hours trying diffrent roms diffrent apps to get tomtom 7 working?????????????????anyone know what other files are needed in wwe 05 64 mb device to run gpsproxy????????????? anyone have a list or even a simply way?
OK I FOUND FILES HERE http://sourceforge.net/projects/gps...6/GPSProxy-1.6-ARMV4-NoInstaller.zip/download
I INSTALLED BUT I KEEP GETTING
THE NMEA IMPUT PROVIDER FAILED TO START: CREATFILE FAILED :55
ANYBODY ANY IDEAS?
STARTING TO THINK AM I JUST BEST TO INSTALL WM 2003
How can i close posts?
i tried this with gps proxy....
i have a bluetooth gps mouse from nokia...
model: ld 1w
I pair my magician with the mouse.....after that i set the gps mouse to comport 6.
Now i run gpsproxy and setup my device:
i add Virtual port com4
in nmea i use for incoming port 6
then i set outgoing port to port 4...
the i push start...
then come "fix typ: invalid"
any idea??
i found 'igo8' to work best on magician.
i use a blue-tooth gps, use standard gps port with the rom, done. no issues and quick.
i can still use my bluetooth car hands free at same time too.
(wwe rom 3.06)
I too have problems with my external GPS (sold under T-Mobile NaviGate Bluekit III mouse, but it's Leadtek under the hood) under WWE_O5 , but I think it's more related to the Bluetooth stack
here's what I did
-> add new device
-> Leadtek Bluetooth GPS shows up, next
-> Passcode is prompted, 0000, next
-> Device added, your pocket PC has connected with Bluetooth GPS
everything is fine up till this point, now the GPS shows up under "disconnected"
Now when I single tap it to turn on Serial Port, save and connect it say
CAnnot connect, your device did not connect With Leadtek Bluetooth GPS. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect
I'm pretty sure it's not the GPS itself since it ran fine with the vanilla firmware
This is pretty much the only thing that keeps me from fully enjoying the rom, though
Hello
I'm in the same situation as you. I have tried a large number of settings to get TonTom/ to connect to my BT GPS ( I've tried Holux 236slim firmware 3.1.0, Holux236slim Firmware 3.1.1, Holux1000B). None of them are identified by TomTom. I have also tested a handfull of other GPS applications without any problems, they are running perfect. I,ve resetted all GPS's to factory basis, I've modified baudrates, S/N and so on without sucess. tested with and w/O WM "external GPS"-program. The "external GPS" does anyhow transfer the correct comport to Tomtom.
No sucess. No sucess.
By trying the other GPS alternativs inside Tomtom gps-configuration, I've ben able to for a second been capable to get the GPS signal.
-Something is wrong inside WM6.5 , S100 or Tomtom.

Edit
After first removing all setting for BT then removing the main battey, getting low capacity in back up battery, reinstalling BT-GPS ( Holux m1000b) i've got the Tontom to connect to the GPS. I've used the port (in Tomtom GPS konfiguration) given by the BT-setting, com 7 in my case. It failed when chozing the port given by the "external GPS#
The installation is not stable. after shutting down the S100 and restarted. It failed and I had to remove main battery again. Now its working.
I do not dare to test with another GPS yet.

Second edit
I have sucessfully connected all my GPS decvices. Anyhow the connection to Tomtom is more unstable on the magician then on my other phones (Wizard and Herald with WM6.1). Unstable in my case means: loss of connection, have to reinstall GP-device and reboot. Anyhow. I have beiing driving 400 km today without any problems.
