Failed T-Mobile UK MDA Compact ROM Update - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Hi All
Need some help here.
I have read through the threads and not found anything that matches my symptons yet.
Trying to update my Compact to that latest TMUK ROM 11300_128_11200 and just after the screen where it started to update - my baby boy unplugged the compact!!!!!!
Now when you attempt to update it sits at the screen "Checking the information onyou device please wait"
The screen shows USB at the top and v1.02 at the bottom - no lights on
You cannot access it using MTTY as USB port can not open
I have unticked USB in Active Synch and closed off the wsecomm process before attempting
Any ideas or is back to the shop??
cheers
Con

Don't worry, be happy.
You're in bootloader now, so normally a rerun of the update fixes the problem. So check USB conn. again in Act.Sync & go.
BTW have you tried running the update once again?
Have you read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46628&sid=2358597af6cd36b33608eb2b8467bb33 ?

@con
have you now updated your compact ?
I have a similar problem with my compact 2.

Fixed
Run update on wifes laptop and at the third time of asking the update completed

same Problem.
Please help
Experienced It
Experienced the same thing, what I did was just unplug the USB, rebooted my WinXP SP2 then reconnected the USB and it showed Serial with backlight off and just restarted the Upgrade Process and it worked (but just make sure as well that you have enough battery run for the next 20-27mins tops.)
Magician is dead
I have the same problem, the upgrade didnt work out and now I am stuck in the bootloader
Dont Worry --- do this
This is what you do.
Disconnect your JAm from USB
Go from your PC , ACTIVESYNC > FILE > CONNECTION SETTINGS > remove the check mark for ALLOW USB CONNECTION TO THIS DESKTOP COMPUTER
Now connect your JAM to your PC again via USB, this time active sync should not start since you have disabled USB
Now double click on the installer file of the ROM and you should be good to go
After Reset , enable USB ,
Go from your PC , ACTIVESYNC > FILE > CONNECTION SETTINGS > Put a check mark for ALLOW USB CONNECTION TO THIS DESKTOP COMPUTER
Same problem. MDAc boots in the bootlader with the backlit-off USB bootlader screen.
I gues I had a problem flashing the Radio ROM.
But: Startung the software update does not work. It reports a Error 114: "Telefon Update Fehler"
Is there anything else I can do?

Help needed phone doesn´t not boot anymore

Hi,
I have tryed to upgrade my rom to a new version (Prophet WM5 AKU3.2 v3231). Followed the stept correctly, however my phone does not boot anymore. It gets stuck in the qtek logo (when it displays the AKU version i´ve got) and the sceen gets all shacky.
An addictional problem is because it is stuck at that point it does not connect to my computer....
What can I do to fix this, any good suggestions
Thank,
Sebastiaan
You should be able to enter bootloader mode by pressing and holding the camera button while you power on your phone. On the bottom left, you should then see "USB" - connect it to the PC and flash it again.
Had to do this yesterday after flashing failed.
Mike
thanks it worked

Prophet stuck in bootloader HELP!

1st off I DID use the search button.... 2nd HELPPP ME!!!
Waaah :'( I have a most intriguing problem I was running pdaviet 4.0.0.6 Touch for almost 2 weeks now without a single glitch.. the phone fell on my carpet and went to bootloader screen and eversince then it has never recovered I tried a hard reset it didn't work when I was pressing the send button it did nothing I did some forum searches and tried putting back the nvid RUU and it said that the update was succesfull and the progress bar on the phone moved accordingly but it went back to the bootloader screen ... then I tried pdaviet temp rom that was in the package still no go I can tell it works somehow because the USB lights up in the bottom left when I plug the usb cable and the progress bar that moves, but I'm getting desperate IPL and SPL info is in my sig...
same same... but i dropped mine before flashing the new PDAVIET touch rom.. still went fine..
now, it still flashes... RUU says its successful.. but PDA just reboots back to bootloader..
i can charge my phone fine in bootloader.. i can see the USB come on when i connect it to my computer.. other than that, can't do anything...
i've tried everything the past 2 days.. looks like i'll have to send it back to dopod.. will let u guys know what happens... probably something got damaged..
struck at bootloader
I tried WM6 (4.0.0.6 touch) from WM5 AKU 2.2 but it failed in between with some write message, which was bit strange as I didn't touch any key on laptop during that time and no program was being run at that time. (I am using VISTA Home premium). I got my phone into bootloader but it does not connect to my laptop...so cant upgrade back to AKU 2.2. In Windows Mobile Device Center, I cant see my device connected. So is it particular to Vista or my phone got bricked?
I am yet to try on Windows XP, which I have to arrange.
Please advise.
i had the sam problem.i installed this : try to install the 2.20 nvid rom
just go into bootloader mode-you dont need active sync connection and start the upgrade-search for 2.20 nvid rom download it and recover your device

I tried the same but when I run ROMUpdateUtility_No_VenderID, I get a message 'Update Error, 260' which tells further that PDA is not connected to laptop., although it is very much connected. However LED on PDA does not blink as well.
When I plug in this phone to Wall adaptor, LED does show up.
'USB' appears at Bottom Left corner of PDA when connected to laptop and certainly its getting recognised by Vista as it starts installing Driver as soon as this is connected to laptop.
Please suggest.
I am stuck in the same situation, although I have a G3, running 2.20 on IPL & SPL
Working now
I tried on XP (I was trying on vista before)..I had to install Active Sync as it was not installed on that PC, then run RUU update for AKU 2.2 and update was successfull. Now will try Touch 4.0.0.6 again but this time on XP.
Hope this time I wont have any problems.

Prophet dead after update to WM6

First i want to apollogize for my bad english, it's only what i've learned at school.
So here's my problem: Today I got my new prophet. I wanted WM6 on it, so I tried to Update. I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350033
When I clicked on Hardspl.bat to install hardspl. First there everything was right. after some time an update window appeared. I continued up to the part where the wizard tells from which version to which version the phone will be updated. There was a empty field at both, so I think the wizard didn't rekognize the phone or the System version. I cancelled and disconnected the phone. Then I connected it again and updated it manually by clicking on the file ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe which was in the same folder as the coffie rom i downloaded. Everything was allricght and the wizard tells that the update was succesfully. But after disconnecting the phone It didnt start. It shows the O2 logo. then there is a colorful scrren with the spl and ipl version. there it hangs. I can't connect via Active Sync. It says "not connected". is there anyone who can help me?
@dit: OK, its back alive, Sorry for the unnecessary Posting.

try download and flash with this rom http://www.mrpalm.com/dopod818pro_rom.zip
If the ROM version does not appear when using the utility wizard you have NOT completed the HardSPL process. When you HardSPL the screen will turn white and the USB will disconnect. Unplug and reconnect the USB and then follow through with the wizard steps. Make sure you new SPL ver. upon boot-up is actually changed before you proceed to the actual ROM upgrade. Took me a while to figure out. Good Luck!

[Resolved] [Q] Xperia Ray OTA Brick Problem

My phone bricked after OTA. I checked all tutorials but whenever i try to flash ftf files, flashtool is keeping to say open debugging.
Before trying flashtool i flashed it several times with wotanserver.
Please help me.
Did you try to repair it using PC Companion?
This will do a clean flash with a complete original Image.
Thanks for your help i fixed it with flashtool
USB Connection constantly up and down
Hi guys,
I made an OTA update to my xperia Ray ST18 because the guy that sold me the phone didn't warn me it has been unlocked. Now it's dead!
I'm really desperate.
I tried Sony Update Tool to try to flash the new ROM. It detects the phone and says it has flashed OK. Then I disconnect the cable and try to turn on the phone but it doesn't start.
The only response I get when I try to restart the phone is a short vibration but the phone still doesn't start.
I don't know if it's normal but when I put the phone to charge there's no light turning on. Is it normal?
I'm also trying to flash with Flashtool but the phone now keeps loosing USB connection.
Any tips would be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Normaly is Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) the best Way
to repair your Phone.
If the Phone loos USB-Connection, check USB (ADB+SDK) Driver
or install new.
Maybe a other Way is "S1tool" it´s a small and crippled subset of SETOOL2 service tool.
Install it, all USB Driver inside.
Shut down your Virusprogram an startet it.
Press the Restore Button in S1
Bring Phone in Fastboot
(Loudness Button UP and USB Connect, you see blue Light on the Home Button)
Wait arround 5 Second..... Finsh
I had the same Problem about flash on my Ray.
The Phone was dead, only the Vibration works on started.
If i press the Start-Botton again, the Home-Botton-Light flash,
that´s was all.
New flashing with SEUS brought no success
S1 is also a good Tool for easy "unblock Bootloader in 10 Second"
And the CyanogenMod 7.20
(original update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-urushi-signed)
ist the best Firmware for the Ray.
Absolut fast, so overclocking ca do.
My Ray works with 1,6 GHz without Probs.

FOR THE FUTURE, NO OTA UPDATE IF BOOTLOADER IS OPEN - THE FIRMWARE IS THEN BLOCKED FOR OTA
Greeting Onex1
Don't know if anyone can help me in my situation but I have a major problem arising from an OTA update too, my phone just refuses to read my SIM card. In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.
I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating OTA my phone bricked!
So, I searched high and low for a solution and ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'.
I've tried everything I can think of to fix this.. Hard resets, updating with Sony Update Service but nothing works. There's just so much conflicting info out there that I'm really confused at this stage. I have a perfectly good phone in that everything works bar the SIM and I'd hate to have to buy another one!
Any suggestions anyone or is my phone screwed for good? :/
