Bluetooth Headset for XDAII - Your opinions please

Hi People,
I'm looking to get potentially 3 Bluetooth Headsets for XDAII (for staff)
And I don't want any moaning once I get them that the quality is bad
Could you post your personal experiences of ones you have purchased and are using please. Would like some recommendations if possible.

I have a Sony-Erricsson HBH-35. Works like a charm.
No rebonding, it reconnects wether you'r out of range, the phone or headset has been switched off etc...

I have a Motorola HS810.
It's nice and small (even with the boom open). The audio quality is excelent. However, what really nags me is that it takes too long to boot the device when you open the boom, so that in most occasions it takes too long to connect to the XDA and I can't pick up a call in time.
Also, sometimes it simply doesn't connect to the device after I pick up a call on the XDA and I can't transfer the call to the headset.
Anyone with the same problems with this headset ?

My HBH65 works absolutely perfectly with the XDA2. Original XDA2 radio & Bluetooth stack - just as it came out of the box. I *never* need to rebond the two devices, even if they're switched off, out of range or whatever, and I can walk around my (small) house using the headset and leave the XDA2 on the desk.
Only criticism is the battery life on the HBH65, which is pants. I have to charge it every other day, at best, without much useage.
Still, it's *very* comfortable and the sound quality and volume is good in quiet environments. In the car it's a struggle, but that could be because I have a car with a 6 litre engine and no exhaust silencers...

I have a Jabra 250
Works perfect, never any bonding, or lost call problems, and as set 250 minutes of standby time, very small, and looks really smart. After I bought one, my wife wanted one too.

I opted for the Sony-Erricsson HBH-35
I got them from expansys and got them the next day! .... they are great. The call quality is excellent. I think the boom helps to eliminate background noise as the mic doesn't have to be too strong.
Now i just need to go to the "using it" forum to find out how to use voice dialing :s

Logitech BT headset is the best !

I really like the Bluespoon Cameleon. Works very well. Only about $100. Much less obtrusive than other Bluetooth headsets. You can change it's colors, which is cool. It's much smaller and lighter than other headsets as well.
It was so good, that I thought I'd go one step further and get the Bluespoon Digital, which I just started using. The Bluespoon Digital seems to get the call transferred instantly (quicker than the Cameleon), and it's about the size as the end of my thumb.
I havn't had the chance to try out the automatic gain control (changes volume of speaker based on ambient noise), or the digital noise cancellation (blocks out slow moving ambient sound).. but those features sound mighty nice!

What's a pb? With the Bluespoons, you press a button on the headset to transfer the call to it.

really doesn't work, dunno why !!!!!
If you have an advice, I'll really appreciate it

Did you try a hard reset of the Bluespoon? Also a soft reset according to the instructions in the manual? After a soft reset you'll have to recreate the bond.

Plantronics M3000 is the best one I could fine. Everyone would always tell me they couldn't hear me. The M3000 sounds very clear, connects as a Bluetooth Device and battery life is around 2 days.
Very small around the ear, no cords, or mess. I like it.

What bluetooth headset are you using and how is your bluetooth strength?

I use jabra and if I have the phone in my pocket, the sound gets tons of static, my a2dp headset tends to skip when the phone is in my pocket, out of the pocket it works perfectly, if I put the phone behind me, thus my body is in between the headset and the phone, i also get tons of static even though the distance is 20 inches.

I tested my 3125 smartphone against the Touch cruise and the 3125 range was three times farther then the touch cruse. Back to mobileplanet this heap of **** goes.

The radio stack on the test ROM makes a HUGE difference

I have the same issue even with the new radio--bluetooth strength much weaker than my old trinity. Wonder if there is a registry setting to boost the signal?

this phone is brutal, with 3g and bluetooth on, I drop calls like no tommorrow,it seems when driving it is even worse. I seen it where it has perfect signal and for no apparent reason, it drops the call. It just gives me three faint beeps when it disconnects. I don't know what it means, also these phones are not assembled well. this sucks for 700 dollar phone, I did try the new radio also, it didn't make no difference other then I didn't get disconnected on 3g as much but bluetooth still sucked, my 3125 I measured again has 3 times the range,just having your hand in between the phone and the headset gets you lot of static on the headset. I sent mine back today. Bluetooth is critical to me,I figure HTC would at least get the bluetooth right but I guess they are a mess right now with all their issues. Hoping to get hp 614 instead.

I am using the Jabra BT3030, works like a charm. This is with the default rom.

Plantronics Explorer 510 here. Absolutely perfect sound.

Parrot MK6100 car HF set. Crap, thin sound reported on the other side. Low volume.

To be more specific- both sony ds200 and itech r35 have good sound, no static but the range is very poor and easily blocked by a human body. The sony sound is much better probably because its bluetooth 2 with a better data rate. The a2dp (only with the sony) needs the "a2dp fix" and a fresh reboot before using in order not to have the drop outs. All told, not much different than with my trinity but with less range. Very disappointing considering price and another year to perfect the system. HTC really does need to work on the drivers and software before selling the device. The average user is not going to go to all this trouble and will be very letdown.

Audio dropouts with other party on speaker

OMG this freakin PDA is driving me nuts as a phone. Anyone get really bad performance when using speakerphone or bluetooth to another party who is also on speakerphone? The best way I can describe this is it sounds like I'm talking on an old half-duplex speakerphone, that cuts the speaker when the mic is active. For example, if I make a sound on my end like scrunch a piece of paper or drop a pen the audio in the headset "dims" out and then back for a good half second, enough to make the call unintelligible sometimes when I'm in the car or driving. This happens especially if the person on the other end is on speaker.
One thing I noticed: this does not happen as much with the stock plug-in headset. Only speakerphone and most especially bluetooth. Speakerphone has other problems too, like a real nasty high-pitched audio loop that makes the person on the other end cringe (again, other person on speakerphone when this happens).
I've had this with the person on the other end using a Sprint speakerphone and a regular land line speakerphone, so it's not their phone.
I've looked around for quite a while, have the phone for over a month, and have seen some other fixes for audio that don't seem to relate to this issue, but:
does ANYONE else have this problem?

S7 Audio volume very low?

I've heard that the internal DAC in the S7 is really weak, but is it really this weak? When I listen to music with headphones, I have to raise the volume to ~80% just to sound like how ~30-40% would sound on most devices. This is the same with both wired headphones and Bluetooth headphones

Its fine. Much much louder than my previous sony xperia z3 compact

It most certainly is not fine. At roughly 66% volume, I cannot hear anything when I'm on an airplane. I travel a lot for work and have to crank the volume up past 90% just to listen to podcasts when flying.

I have no issues with it. It depends on the source and type of headphone. Stock headphones are not sealing type so there no way it's going to cancel out airplane. Get sealing earphone and it'll be too loud.

I have volume problems too. Actually at 1-3 notches sound gets cut off!
To clarify it goes from decently loud at the 4+ to well I can't hear half the things at 3 (drops in and out). What I can hear is still loud enough. At step 1 I can hear about 20% at the volume in expecting and the rest is silent.
Then to make things worse, call volume keeps resetting to step 2 or 3. I'd take a call and max it out then next call it will be at 2/3 again.. I believe some app is setting the media volume to call volume. But I have no new apps and did not have this problem on S6.

You should try this mod , IF you're rooted and have a custom recovery. Works really well.

I don't use stock headphones and i always use sealing types in airplanes. When I connect to my car via the aux port, i have to run full volume on the phone and two notches down from full volume on the car stereo to match sound levels from my OPO. My stereo settings go from 0-40, i run 38 with the S7. OPO i can set the stereo to 30 and it matches S7 volume.

I've noticed if I have maps or a GPS running after the GPS uses the speaker, it can use the "full" volume again until I remove and plug a auxiliary cable again. It's a dirty work around but it is effective.

Go to sound quality settings and bump the equalizer all the way up. Can also turn on hearing aid assist

Bluetooth Audio Streaming Stuttering

I would like to share my experience with my S7 G930 and the problem I have with BT audio.
I have a helmet with BT N-com from Nolan that let you use your phone and play music via BT. It works very well with my S4 Lollipop but has problem with my new S7 (stock Rom Android 6.0.1).
When you try to play media stream the sound is very choppy and stuttering.
I tried to use my helmet with many other devices and it works good. I tried to use S7 with other BT speakers or audio receivers and it also works good!
So I have finally discovered the difference between all the successfully tests and the one that fails when I try the S7 + Helmet combination.
The helmet offers both headset service (for phone calls) and the A2DP service (for music streaming). The problem is there when both the services are in use at the same time if the headset service is started first. Since headset is faster to connect than A2DP this is always the case. If I disconnect the BT and activate manually the services in the opposite order (first A2DP and then Headset) everything start to work fine.
Since the S4 works good without problem I think this is a problem with S7 or Android 6.0.1.
I hope this will help someone else with my same problem and I hope to have some feedback of your experiences with BT peripherals that use both the services (usually it should be the case with car hi-fi). I would be happy to report this issue to

Since this is a helmet you're talking about, I assume this is outdoor experience?
My Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless - MSRP $500, so it's about as premium as you can get for a Bluetooth, noise-canceling headphone - gets slightly choppy outside, under a few different scenarios...
* If the phone is in my back pocket, and I had my hand in that pocket covering the phone, audio is choppy and awful
* Weekday mornings as I exit NY Penn Station to walk to work, the audio gets choppy for a few seconds before stabilizing for the rest of the walk.
* On the walk back to Penn Station at 6, as soon as I get to the corner of 33rd and 8th Ave (opposite the building), audio gets awful again until I get outside the front of the station.
I'm on my second pair of headphones, with this one functioning better than the first pair. But it has me wondering whether the problem is with the headphones or with the S7. Sennheiser says it's due to all the other Bluetooth and wireless signals in the area, and I can understand that. But my previous pair, Sony MDRXB950BT, didn't have these issues. One user on Head-Fi wondered if it's the power management of the headphones, since they have great battery life and the noise cancelling kicks in automatically with Bluetooth.
I tested the first pair of the Momentums with an iPhone 6 Plus, while the drops and hiccups weren't as bad as with the S7, they were still there. So I'm leaning more towards a headphone problem than a handset problem.

I'm definitely experiencing similar issues. BUT, I'm streaming to my receiver which worked amazing until after the last update. I'm on 6.0.1. Works perfect in my car right now (fingers crossed). But it has done it a few times, thought it was my case which was aluminum.
Either way a patch or minor update needed. Tired if the random choppiness. Sad that I have to keep the phone plugged into a wireless receiver. .???
