Hi i need help i have just install Windows Mobile 5 on my XDA2s my ActiveSync is not Sync when i connect my XDA2s, can you tell me what have i done incorrect is there something that i can do to rectify this problem HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
You need ActiveSync 4.1, which you can download from MS site. WM5 can't sync with AS versions under 4 (4.1 for newer ROMs).

i upgraded my himalaya to wm5 yesterday, but i found dat i couldnt get my wm5 connected to pc after upgrading, the pc doesnt recognize my device, i've tried both activesync 3.7 and 4.0... can any1 help?

I have the same problem:
Upgrading to 1.60c.00WWE
Radio 1.17.00
and i have installed activesync 4.1 (last release from microsoft)...
activesync said he try to connect to my qtek 2020 (worked good before rom upgrade with activesync 3.8).
I also try to start from a good windows XP (and clean) version: i format my pc and reinstalled windows xp on it (sp2) + activesync:
same result (device detected but no sync)
on my qtek activesync (in the bottom on screen) said he is connected but not on my pc...
Any idea will help me good, thx a lot !

I. Try To use the latest Active Sync Program
II. Try to shutdown or Disable any antivirus or Firewall program
IV. try to restart the computer And the Device (Your PPC)

There's something wrong in the OS image. When I connect my Wizard via USB,I have no problems. But Himalaya want not connect. Why? I don't have SP2 in XP(Wizard is working correctly)!

If you are connected to a usb hub, try not using it and connect direct to computer. that sloved all of my sync issues of the phone not being seen.

had an xda ii no problems, socket got damaged so bought an XDA mini
cannot get it to sync anything other than notes and tasks and favorites
tried via usb and bluetooth
tried different pc
upgraded to latest xda mini rom 2.21.4.1 WWE on reccomendation from o2
uninstalled / re installed active sync now runnung 4.1.0 on pc have tried 4.5
dissabled firwall on pc
on active sync status get error code 85010014 on pc and mobile
any help appreciated
de-install your outlook > re-boot computer > install it again.

Hi there, my smartphone Tornado (SP5m) won't be detected properly on my Windows 2003 server (w/o SP1), USB drivers seems to be the problem... can someone send me their drivers (via link, PM, etc) so I can test using those drivers instead. I definitely want to sync my Outlook contacts to my smartphone...

I use Windows 2003 server and I never had any problems with ActiveSync v4.5. If you connect your phone after installing ActiveSync, it will be detected as an RNDIS device.
Do you have the latest ActiveSync update?
It works fine on XP SP2 and Vista but not with my Windows 2003 server ?!
It sure detects it as an RDNIS device and then it tries to install the drivers, then I need to click on "Continue Anyway" (because those drivers have not passed the Windows logo testing to verify it's compatibility with this version of Windows) and then an error comes up saying "Cannot install this hardware" (see attached picture)
Does yours have SP1 installed?

Yes, I have SP1 and all latest updates installed. I'm sorry but I never had had this problem and I don't know how to assist you. You can try removing the drivers and reinstalling ActiveSync 4.5.
I had a similar problem once on XP SP2, not sure if it will assist you, but in my case my mini-USB cable became some what defective, in a way that it did not let the PC identify the mobile even though it DID see when i connected it!

I have the problem, and I am tired trying to solve it.
Since some time (I do not remember what affected it), my PC ActiveSync connects with my HTC Wizard only in Guest mode.
What was done to solve it:
- Partnership deleted.
- Activesync updated from 4.1.x version to 4.5 version
- Cleaned registry from all ActiveSync records
- Registered some *xml*.dll's (method was found somewhere in the Internet)
Nothing helps!! Still connects in Guest mode!!
Please, help, as I reinstalled to WM6 today, and I need to update my Tasks/Contacts/Etc...

Now I've resolved the situation this way:
Deleted the 4.5 AS (Automatically and by hand)
Installed the 3.8 AS (It won't even connect)
Deleted 3.8 and installed 4.1 (4.1 do not want to synchonize as I now have WM6, and it asks for the 4.5 or newer)
Fully deleted 4.1 and Installed 4.5 and now it works!!

im new in this Forum, i want to upgrade my XDA neo (HTC Prophet) to WM6.1... i have already read the sticky wiki..i stuck already at the first step.. i cant install active sync on vista, i tried a few versions and i also googled but found nothing,
so can someone post a link for active sync for vista.. or another method to upgrade without active sync
