JAFWM-May not be the answer to flashing difficult prophets - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Bought JAFWM yesterday and here is what I have found:
-Tried flashing New Jamin Rom
Result-Stuck in perpetual reset mode most of the time
When I did manage to get out of the automatic reset loop here is what I found:
1. Radio rom was not installed (=no phone, wifi, bluetooth functionality
2. device had incredibly poor response to any commands (severe lag issues)
3. Basic functionality (even without phone) was very bad
-Tried flashing Qtek Rom
Result-similar as imate (listed above)
1. No radio rom
2. device had better response than imate rom but still poor
Flashed back to shipped dopod 818 pro rom
-Thank God my device returned to normal (radio rom was installed this time)
Conclusion:
I don't think JAFWM can unlock CID (based on my exerience)
If their are any JAFWM experts out there please let me know if there is a way to get the radio rom installed with the new ROMS (ie. QTEK,IMATE)
If JAFWM can't unlock the CID than there is no advantage to using this device other than it's user friendly interface (which is quite easy for unexperienced rom flashers)
Still waiting for Dopod's new rom (that seems to be my only answer for AKU2)

I tried flash my Dopod 818 pro to any rom such as Jamin or Qtek S200 by JAFWM and all run well.
You should know when to keep the bootloader and when to skip it.
If you want to play ROM JAMIN in your Dopod 818 pro, do like I did:
1. Use JAFWM downgrade bootloader to 1.0 by flashing Dopod818pro_WWE_1001321_10013102_11320_Ship without skip bootloader.
2. Unlock CID by aWizard. JAFWM will have function unlock soon be sure.
3. If you want to play ROM JAMIN with OS 2.0 do: use JAFWM flash RUU_Prophet_2100728_21007109_020720_QtekDAN_Ship without skip bootloader. Then flash JAMin_WWE_2130923_21309112_020720_ship. Cos as I know, only Qtek Rom can upgrade both IPL and SPL. And Dopod Rom can downgrade both. JAMin can not.
And if you just need to upgrade your radio only, you have to dump it to nba file, then use aWizard burn it to you phone. Cos the package of Prophet ROM always exits with 1 file nk.nbf.
If you use JAFWM mobility with other software, it'll greatly help.
That's my experience, hope your PDA work well

Thanks for the feedback, in case JAFWM have some bug, your post will help me to debug it. It would help me also if you could post here your JAFWMLOG.txt , you can find it in same dir JAFWM.exe is located.
But I will check it also myself and will post result here, but sofar i know there are not any problems known until now. However, i have no NEO i will buy one at monday and play little bit. Maybe os not match bootloader or whatever, but let see after i have my NEO.

JAFWM-CAN FLASH DIFFICULT PROPHETS>>>IT REALLY WORK
Thanks TA_mobile
I did as you recommended and it worked!
JAFWM does what it is supposed to do...

Re: JAFWM-CAN FLASH DIFFICULT PROPHETS>>>IT REALLY
Today played little bit with my Qtek s200. I flashed it with with follow roms:
JAMin_WWE_ 2130923_21309112_020720_ship
RUU_Prophet_1001321_10013102_11320_DopodAsia_Ship
I did not unlock any CID before and all functions was normal. I did it with skipped and witout skipped bootloader flash. If any one have any problem with a secific rom, plz tell me and i will test it.
All this tests we has done with the new version (1.3beta) released today. You can download from http://forums.phone-tools.cn/showthread.php?t=9411 and try it.

Hello ta_mobile,
After flashing Dopod ROM into my Xda Neo using JAF without skip IPL/SPL, I got IPL=1.0 and SPL=2.09 and the device stucked at the bootloader mode with 3 colors and could not load the OS. I then flashed Neo with Qtek ROM 2.09 skiping IPL/SPL. My Neo works fine but now I have IPL 1.0 and SPL 2.09, I could not unlock CID using aWizard. Is there any way to get SPL 1.0 and do CID unlock????
Thanks

Hello,
i have an German O2 Neo and sometimes Problems with CID unlocking for Flashing. Start aWizard an use the option "e". Then show on youre XDA and start the enablerapi.cab on youre XDA. At next use aWizard with the option unlockCID and test flashing!
With this Method i can backup my Neo with aWizard and flash the new Jamin ROM, the Qtek ROM not. Rebackup to German ROM also OK but only the OS, the BootScreen (SplashScreen) not.
Sry for my miserable english!

How can I fix "Wrong vendor ID" at Qtek S200?

I tried to flash the Qtek S200 with the ROM which I found at

flashing difficulties w/th some prophet models
I have had the same issues with my dopod 818 pro..Couldn't flash, always received vendor ID error.
The only way I was able to flash my device to a newer rom was by using JAFWM, which is an aftermarket flashing tool created by Odeon. The device costs about 50usd. With JAFWM I was able to easily flash my prophet to a newer QTEK and Jamin rom, without to much hassle. Note: I still had to use awizard to unlock the CID.

Jamin WWE No Vendor ID

Hi there,
Since I installed the latest dopod 818 Pro WWE ROM on my Qtek S200, I have some trouble with the device now and then. It unexpectedly reboots while having conversations after which it can't find my service provider. Then when I disable and re-enable the phone in communications manager it finds the network again. Sometimes calls are not coming through either. I did not have any of these problems with the old Qtek S200 NL ROM.
I also tried different radio roms. 2.19.21, 2.20.21, 2.30.21, no luck.
I like to try the Jamin ROM. Is there anyone who know where I can find a NoVendorID version of the latest Jamin WWE ROM? I tried the regular one in combination with the ROMupdateUtility.exe of the Dopod NoVendorID ROM, but this gives an error at 80% while flashing. After that I was only able to enter the bootloader mode of my S200. So I flashed it once again with the Dopod 818 Pro ROM.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Dennis
Yeh, I would like to have the No Vendor ID JAMin WWE Rom, too. Could some one please make that? I still do not like the dopod ROM for some reasons. JAMin ROM is still my best choice.
I didn't see the rom you mentioned, but if you CID unlosck your device first, you can go to: ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/ and choose the rom you like, I mean, the language you wish. Go for it and luck!
The tools for CID unlock your device is, on XDA-Wiki, just up!

I have a G4 prophet. Again, it is impossible to CID unlock a G4 prophet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why people keep telling me to CID unlock my device? Of course we all know CID unlock first. If we could CID unlock our device, why should we ask for No Vendor ID upgrade?
no-vendor ID
Yes, I'm still looking for a No-Vendor ID Jamin ROM WWE, that would work on my S200... Anyone?
Thanks

Reverting AKU 2.3 ¿Upgrade? Spanish ROM RQ

After instaling the ROM in the link:
Prophet AKU2.3 pdamobiz customized rom [G4 with SPL 2.15.0001]
I don't mind this being WWE instead than Spanish, but I got several problems:
Hang during install after first reboot. (after every Hard Reset)
Not all programs installed.
Not all installed programs running.
Some other minor glitches.
I moved from 2.15 ESP Rom (Vodafone) wich I was unable to extract.
Does anyone knows were to find my "old" rom?
I downloaded 2.13 from imateclub but refuses to install: "this nbf file is not for your device, get a newer one".
Help! please.
First, is your CID unlock?
Second, your device have a G4 chip, so you can not be able to install an older version, I mean, If you have a 2.15.0001 you can not be able to install a Rom for a Sapnish Qtek 2.09.0000 or like JAMin by i-mate 2.13.0000.
About where you can find your original rom, I invite you to find it on XDA-Wiki, after you log in under your nick or make a Dump Rom from other device like yours.

Thanks for your answer!
I'm unsure if this is CID unlocked, it is SIM unlocked now, will check for the CID issue. Though I assume that being able to install other 2.15 rom (dopòd) means it is already CID unlocked too....¿?
I was afraid the "downgrading" has to be done in the same version range. (2.15)
Thanks again for the wiki proposal, will go there.
The wiki site is a real mess actually, with no trace of usefull info specific for the prophet. (Sorry to say) Just a couple of ROM's some not working.
No one with a 2.15 ESN rom to share?
Regards.

Vox Update SPL (USPL) 1.16

Hi guys,
I've just implemented a Vox USPL which allows you to flash any Vox ROM updates, i.e. you can flash any *official* ROM even if your phone's model and vendor ID doesn't match. It's confirmed that you can also flash cooked ROMs
This SPL is based on original Vox 1.16 SPL but includes 3 patches:
1) g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 0 (set 32)
2) Does not check Model & Vendor ID
3) Does not check signature*
(*) code must be formally signed i.e. contain properly-formatted signatures on the right places, however no checking is performed against them.
This means you can flash ANY ROM to your Vox after running USPL on it, no need to pay for CID unlock anymore!
The USPL will *not* help you to SIM unlock your device. You still have to pay for that.
The USPL runs in RAM and is *not* flashed to your device, so there is no risk there. Once it runs you can run any official Vox ROM update utility.
The USPL does *not* permanently CID unlock your phone, like the CID unlocker from imei-check or so.
After you flashed a ROM your phone is again CID locked. Each time you wonna flash a ROM with a different model and/or vendor ID (different from your phone) or a cooked ROM, you must run the USPL again and then flash the ROM.
It's beta and untested and the risk is entirely yours !! Don't blame me if you brick your phone
EDIT:
You can now also flash the USPL allowing you to flash any unsigned (cooked ROM or ROM module, e.g. radio or OS) or signed ROM with any model/vendor ID. The USPL substitutes your SPL until you perform a full ROM update. Consider it as an extra insurance in case something goes wrong with flashing cooked ROMs or any other ROM update !
Instructions:
1. Run the USPL (Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip)
2. Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe (Vox-USPL-RUU.zip)
Have fun,
JockyW
The attachments:
SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip : application unlocker if u need it
mtty1.42.zip : terminal emulator (not neccessary if u only do ROM updates, but if you wonna play with the bootloader commands you need it)
Vox-USPL-RUU.zip: flash version of USPL (Note: you must first run USPL from "Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip" before you can flash it with ROMUpdateUtility.exe from Vox-USPL-RUU.zip !!!)
Vox USPL- CID BYPASS.zip : instructions included
Credits: in particular to pof. This USPL and also the one for Excalibur is based on his USPL for the Elf. See here
I think this is one of the most fantastic news of the century!!!
Finally some cooking can start on this little device.
Thanks again,
Ka.
noob question
what the difference between sim unlock and cid unlock?
This can be found in various threads around here, anyway.
SIM Lock - You can't use a SIM from a different provider than the one who sold you the phone.
CID-Lock - You can't flash your phone with a ROM which hasn't been cooked by your provider (or manufacturer for HTC unbranded phones).
Ka.
jockyw2001 great but make one for htc oxygen pls.

anyone online right now wanna drop me a line about this... what do I do exactly with the ruu file. Do I place rom image in that folder while runnning update???
so i followed the instructions and executed the cid bypass(installed itsutils and haret). once i get to the end it says use mtty or flash with RUU. so I attempt to flash right after (am I supposed to flash while the screen is black) but its gives me a connections error. I figure its because the phone is off. So I turn it on and update with the RUU again but only make it to 3% before I get a invalid vendor id. Would anyone care to comment on how I can flash this vox to the dopod rom...

To the users who had the same problem as me I am currently flashing my phone and I managed to get past my problem by using the SDA Application unlocker on my vox. I always thought that HTC were already application unlocked. Was going crazy for a while but I guess I should've followed the instructions step-by-step regardless of what I thought.
Big up to jockyw2001(and of course pof for without him alot of us would still be using shipped rom) for this wicked tool.

I only got this phone so I could upgrade it for a friend to stop the boot loop. It seems to have fixed that problem so I guess it's better than the other roms. On the other hand I can't stand smartphone's so my suggestion is to ditch your SP and switch to PPC . Also I read before hand that this ROM doesn't include Windows Live Messenger but it is included in the rom. Just thought I'd let u guys know.
input please
Just ran into another problem and would appreciate some input. I understand that USPL only works for one flash...but I wasn't aware that a hard reset counted as a flash. Regardless my device hung at the dopod boot screen after a hard reset. Is this normal after using USPL on a device, and if so does this occur with all devices??? I would hate to give a phone back and have to tell the person that they can't perform a hard reset...

If you flash a full ROM the SPL is overwritten with the one in the ROM (Dopod = 1.19). Nothing to do with USPL. Booting can take a long time after hard reset. Unplug battery and try again.

Thanks, I got it to work eventually...Good to know USPL doesn't effect hard resets, I guess you learn something new everyday.
If I had to take a guess before hand I'd figure a SP would boot faster than a PPC, but I realize now that I'd be wrong...
thanks to all for the help, I can finally return this Vox back to its owner

Hi
I flashed my E650 in French with the swissrom (present on FTP), all works !
an idea to change the logo operator to HTC original ?
thanks
thought I fixed the problem. seems as if after a day it just hangs at the dopod screen. It was working fine everytime I had it. As soon as I give it back it seems to hang. Guess ima just flash it back to the HTC rom, too much hassle for just $20.
why SDA_ApplicationUnlock.zip can't unlock my Orange SPV E650?

Custom build rom will not flash as your phone has IPL 1.xx,it must have IPL 2.xx and it shud be CID unlocked.Wm5 will not boot up as the original Bootloaders have changed, when you flashed Buttons rom to downgrade.
Now reflash Button's Rom 1.05 again in bootloaders and use lokiwiz02b to SIM/CID unlock the phone, after SIM/CID unlocking, upgrade to IPL/SPL 2.xx by flashing T-mobile 2.26,only after that it'll upgrade to any wm6 or 6.1 rom.But if you want to flash official vodaphone rom, download the official rom and flash it in Bootloaders.
Cheers !
