Midlet Manager? - HTC Tornado

Where/how do I find the Midlet Manager application?
I just got and started playing with the t-mobile sda. I have downloaded and run the google local mobile from IE. When it downloaded it automatically launched the Midlet Manager to install and run.
My problem is I cannot find the Midlet Manager anywhere in the start menu...
How do I get to that again without downloading a midlet thru IE???
Thanks

go into the filemanager, go into options and make sure you turn off all the file hiding they enabled. Then go into your \windows folder and search for jmm.exe, make a shortcut from jmm.exe (or copy midlet_manager.lnk) over to your \windows\start menu folder. It should appear there then.

That worked! Although it was a bit painful scrolling through all those files in the file manager... ;-)
Thanks!

Moving Program Shortcuts to specific folders

I have installed many programs all to my SD card (including some games) and I have noticed that many of the shortcusts appear directly in teh programs folder instead of the games folder. Is there any way of moving them?
Use an explorer program, ideally gsfinder+, and navigate to your \windows\start menu and sort them all out there.

thx - is there no way of doing it through file explorer already installed on MDA?
Yep, Navigate to "my device" and then choose windows, then start menu. Hopefully.
Gsfinder is easier tho.

cheers - worked perfectly

tomtom shortcut

I have just managed to get tomtom working Ok without copying/installing all the cab files....problem is the program is on the storage card in a folder called ttnav5.21 and every time I want to run the program I have to go there and click on the exe file. should it not be somewhere else like on the start menu....yes I am a newbie to this so its probably quite straightforward.
the program called total commander is easy to make shortcuts with
if you put the shortcuts in
\windows\start menu\
they end up in your start menu
is this not a pc program?
sorted....just needed a push in the right direction.
thanks
Can't you just sync your device and then browsre the memory card/move the .exe to stat menu?
yep thats more or less what i have done ie browsed the card using PC and then create shortcut and move it to windows / start menu folder. as I said I am new to ppc having just moved from symbian phones.

does anyone have a cab file for the Alt Taa program

I would like to use this program if someone can point me to its location
thank you
I've never seen a cab file for it. Just drop this .exe in your Windows\Start Menu\Programs (or some folder under there) and then you can use the Buttons setup app to map to it (Buttons sees stuff in Programs and below)
FWIW: AltTab is part of the PHM PowerToys (or somesuch) so you can check the PHM site, but I think you have to install all of the tools (or whatever set its in) to get it that way (but its been so long since I installed that, I could be wrong).

How can I make HTCAlbum open files?

I've associated the program with my files (pics/.mp4) but when I click on them to open from TC they don't open they go to album view then I have to navigate back to them. Is there a fix?
you mean thru M2D?
no in Total Commander or File Explorer, also I wanted to create a shortcut to automatically open a file when I click it, but instead it open album in libary/album mode
get SKTools and got to file associations menu. SKTools is not FREE. Buy It! I am not promoting you to get warez!
Well, all associations can be performed thru Adv. Config. (or as mohamed offered, SKTools, tho it'll expire at some point).
I know some people had problems with associations using TotalCommander
try resco explorer AFTER associating using one of the above applications.

Creating a program shortcut in Win Mo 6.5?

I updated my ROM the other day and I re-installed all my software afterwards, but one program (tomtom) didnt get placed in the start menu or in "All Programs" on the Manilla programs tab.
If I manually browse to the exe in the program files folder (on my storage card) it launches and works fine.
How can I create a shortcut in Windows Mobile 6.5 so that it shows up in my Start Menu or in the All Programs area?
I tried exploring the device while hooked up via activesync, and creating a shortcut hat way, but with windows mobile 6.5 it seems that doesnt work, the option to create a shortcut doesn't even come up in the context menu anymore. Same goes for if I browse to the file via the file explorer or total commander on the device.
Use Total Commander or Resco Explorer and create the shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu or \Windows\Start Menu\Programs(\Your Folder)

There are two ways I use to make a shortcut in Windows Mobile. The first is to find the original EXE, tap and hold on it, and select "copy". Then, go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\, tap and hold, then "paste as shortcut".
The other, easier way is to install this valuable piece of software, restart file explorer, browse to the EXE, then tap and hold, then finally choose "Send Shortcut to Programs".
Thank you both for the info.
I was able to do it using total commander, which did have a "Create shortcut" option in the ">>>>" option of the menu. I used that and created the shortcut in the programs folder and then it showed up in the start menu and in the touchflo all programs menu.
Allthough this thread is already a few days old i still ought to thank you.
I had exactly the same issue - no TomTom anymore and i couldn't figure it out by myself so got really frustrated. No registry-manipulating worked (didn't understand how to do it right) and no manual shortcut-file creation either...
So i am really happy that you, DaveTheTytnIIGuy pointed out that FileExplorer Extension. Fantastic thing.
And Total Commander is too, actually. But i liked the extension better. Thanks anyways!
Your help is much appreciated.
Do it in File Explorer... that's work. In Total Commander doesn't...
shortcuts to cab files
need to use TC to make shortcuts--the FM ext only supports exe shortcuts.
Mine worked fine on a cooked WM6.5 on my Fuze for the remove/restorehiddenproxy cabs
Worked perfect
Worked perfect, saved me alot of greif thanks
(whew)
im so glad i found this thread. was pullin out my hair trying to figure out where to place the .lnk for garmin to make it show in the programs section.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Same for me! I felt like i had tried everything, and here the solution was staring me in the face (well...inside of a >>>>> folder).
Thanks!
