M500 and Parrott CK3100 - Phone Book Issues!!! - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

I have a M500 and have recently bought and fitted the Parrott CK3100. Now I'm trying to send my Phone Book numbers accross to the Parrott.
I've tried using the standard address book and it comes back as failed, but read somewhere that this won't work (although I managed to get 1 or 2 contacts accross). I've tried again using Pocket Informant 2005 but still it fails???
Can anyone suggest another method of getting them across???
Thanks!!

I have a parrot3300 and I just selected all contacts in standard contacts list and beamed them to the parrot via BT.
Hope this helps

WM6 Treo 750 is perfect now. . .except for one thing!

I had upgraded, reinstalled everything, all the hacks, even got the hidelogo.cab hack working. Bought a few 4GB MicroSD cards with MiniSD adapters and even THEY'RE all working.
I thought I'd died and gone to power users' heaven until I tried to install certificates. I'd imported them, and they installed just fine, they're visible when I go to the personal tab in the certificates applet. But the option in the mail settings to sign and encrypt my messages is greyed out, even though the certificates are installed.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I've searched and searched and all I've come up with are the procedures that I've already followed.
This is the last thing I really need to get working. I'm using Exchange 2007 through 4smartphone if that will help me get to the bottom of this.
As always, dear friends, any help/input is greatly appreciated!

Bluetooth Activesync with WM6 on 8125 issues...

Morning all... I've been researching an issue I'm having with activesyncing my 8125 through bluetooth, since my latest upgrade to the SUPER cooked wm6 v4! Before the upgrade, while using v3, I had no issues connecting via bluetooth, now the device will not allow me to create an incoming port, only outgoing, and activesync is not in the bluetooth services list on the device. Also if I attempt to pair the devices by initiating it from the PC instead of the PDA, it errors out saying that the connection was denied. It has worked in the past, and my Dell Axim x30H synched with no problems. I even deleted the partnership with the Axim and recreated it, and again it synched with no problems.
It seams that the entire problem is stemming from the pda not giving me the option to create an incoming port, and of course it will not sync through an outgoing port. I have verified the com ports, deleted the partnerships multiple times and recreated, and gone through the registry to try and find anything there that I can tweak to be able to obtain the ability to create an incoming port.
I've searched the forums and have found multiple people with the same issue, across multiple roms, and basically no response for how to obtain the ability to create the incoming ports. That part kinda gets skimmed over. What I'm seeing is either you have the ability or you don't.
Anyone ran across this and found a work around? Or have ideas that I can try next?
I would Flash back to the T-Mobile wm 5 rom and see if it works with that rom. Just my 2 cents worth.

ActiveSync with 6.1 ROMs

I have tried a few of the different 6.1 ROMs available for Kaiser.
I am having on recurring problem with ActiveSync though.
My situation ... I have my own laptop at home running Vista business and Office/Outlook 2007 At work I have a laptop running XP with Office/Outlook 2003.
On 6.0 ROMs all was fine. With the 6.1 ROMs, It will not let me sync my phone to both machines (to keep my calendar and contacts in sync) It will let me set up the phone at home, and then sync fine at work, but when I return home, I get a "ActiveSync has encountered a problem on the desktop", the same with me initially setting up at work first. The only solution I have found is to remove the sync pairing on the computer, and then re-set-up the phone with the computer - this hardly being ideal.
Has anyone else experieced the same thing, and/or found a solution to this?
Thanks for any help offered, otherwise I guess I am back to 6.0 ROMs.
Very common solution with syncing is settings->connections->usb to pc, and then uncheck. try that. you would have found this out if you searched first. If this solution doesn't fix it, then must be a unique problem.

Thanks for your help - does seem to be working.
I did search before posting - solutions suggested that I found included deleted sync partnerships, reinstalling office, repair office, deleting pst files ... this solutiuon I did not find.
Well, tried the solution given above - synced fine at home this morning, and at work, but upon returning home the error has returned.
:-(

CHeck which USB cable you are using to sync. There was a massive post a while back around the issue of using non-HTC cables. I was also a victim of this. A standard USB cable has to much space around the connector and can cause it to damage the connector on your Kaiser.
I tried all the solutions mentioned and only when I used to HTC cable could I eventually sync.
It didnt completely solve the issue - my laptop has dual boot - vista and XP and I could only get it to sync with XP. Eventually that didnt work either (the connector must have get more damaged) and I had to send it back to HTC for repair.
Interestingly, when it came back I had no problems syncing with either. I have changed no settings and then last night I could not sync again. I unticked the advanced functionality in the USB to PC settings and it fixed it but why did it suddenly start happening? I havent changed any settings.
If you are woried about damage to your USB connector, have a look at the pin at the bottom of you Kaiser and see if it is straight or crooked.
I also think its a really bad idea that they put the soft reset button so close to the USB connection - how many of you have accidentally pushed the stylus into the connector when trying to soft reset your device? I have a few times and I'm sure this didnt help.
The answers arent always straight forward and its really pathetic to keep bashing people with READ THE WIKI and SEARCH THE THREAD when it is a genuine question requiring thought and support.
Better not to post at all than just to attack someone and waste everyones valuable time and take up room on a thread.
Well, having gone back to 6.0 ROMs, syncing between my Kaiser and my home and office computers is working again.
So, will stuck with 6.0 until some more official 6.1 ROMs are released I guess.
It's working for me

I'm not sure what's wrong with your computer but it's not a WM 6.1 problem. Since I started testing new ROMs, I've connected my TyTN II to 3 different computers, using 2 USB-MiniUSB cables (none the HTC supplied one), 2 computers had Windows XP, one had Vista. It was detected and configured by Activesync or WMDC every single time.
I have tried Dutty's, Sleuth, UDK, NoThrills, L26, MobileVista... It worked every single time on 3 different computers.
I don't know either, but moving back to 6.0 ROMs has made the problem disappear. I tried a number of 6.1 ROMs and they all gave the error of not wanting to sync to more than one computer - they would pair up fine, but on syncing would throw up errors and not sync, for example would be set up fine at home and synced, then go to the office set up and syn fine, but on return home wouldn't want to play anymore.
I just hope when official releases of 6.1 come out that they will work properly.
Ok this has worked for some with sync issues. Give it a try.
With Phone diconnected from computer:
Delete partnerships on Device and on computer.
(On Phone)open regedit and go to HKLM/ident
edit Name to HTC-8900 (for tilt) or HTC-TYTN_II (for kaiser)
edit OrigName to HTC-8900 (for tilt) or HTC-TYTN_II (for kaiser)
Power Off (not reset) and wait 30 sec then repower
(on Computer)Go into task manager and close wmdc.exe
go to your computers control panel and open sync center (same icon as old activesync)
Open WMDC
Plug Phone in via USB
Once it starts be sure to name partnership the same as your device ID
Please post if it works. If not there have been a few other methods that may work.
NOTE: if you switch between vista and xp, activesync has a random tendancy to overwrite the device name to something like windowsmobile72 which messes up the sync with WMDC. Changing the device name ussually fixes this issue if it occurs.

Contact recovery without screen use

Hi,
I have a bit of a challenging dilemma.
I managed to break the screen of my 02 exec this morning, i recently bought a new vista laptop and as yet hadn't backed up my contacts. It doesn't have Outlook and I was wondering if there was another piece of software to back contacts up with that won't involve installing onto my phone as can't see to do that.
o2 collect phone in 24 hours to replace with new orbit2.
All advice greatfully recieved.
Thanks,
J
Sync your pocket, and start MyMobiler on your computer for onscreen remote control, then install Jeyo Mobile Companion and use it to backup your contacts, sms and other
Awesome solution, Thanks a million

[Q] Bluetooth and Contacts

Hi All
Just traded in my HD2 for a Sensation. Nice!
The only problem I'm having is with the device and my car.
Before, the HD2 paired nicely and read the contacts no problem. Now, I have the Sensation paired no problem and I can make calls, but it says the address book says it's empty (when I look on the dashboard screen). Before, when I had the HD2, the address book would show up. I think the car is looking in the wrong place. Currently, all my contacts are on the phone rather than the sim.
Any thoughts?
PS Is there any way to rename the paired bluetooth device on the Sensation?
After pairing, it says 'UHP5406' and I'd like it to say 'Insignia'
Thanks
Steve
I like you had an HD2 before getting a Sensation, this paired in both WM6 & Android to my car (Audi with RNS-E unit), My sensation pairs with my Audi no problem and I can see the address book in my dash etc.
The first time it connects the phone asks you if you want to allow the bluetooth device access to your phone book...Are you sure you didn't accidentally click NO???
Try unpairing the device then pairing again, wait for a while after it pairs then you should get the message on the phone...
Good luck!
Bluetooth + Sensation
Ahh good point. I unpaired them and tried again and this time the 'permission box' popped up (don't recall that first time round). I clicked on 'yes', but when I looked at the Phonebook on the CAR, it said 'empty'. I wonder if I need to give it longer to copy them across???? I have around 2000 contacts. Do you know long it took yours to complete the process?
Thanks
Steve
Contacts and Bluetooth - sorted!
I've solved it and I'm posting the solution, so others may avoid the problems I encountered
All that was needed was Tea!!
I re-paired the phone with the car and left it do its thing. 5 minutes later, still nothing in the car's phonebook. 10 minutes later...still nothing. Went indoors and had a cuppa. Came back out 10 minutes later and the phonebook had transferred perfectly.
Anyone one give me a quick link to 'patience' as a quality...I dont seem to have any!
Steve
I had a Touch Pro 2 which paired perfectly with Audi RNS-E including phone book. I now have a Sensation (same SIM) which initially also worked perfectly. I then had cause to do a hard reset and ever since I can pair OK but it will not download phone book. I am getting phone book access request and allowing always.
Anyone any ideas?
Sweet Jesus....2000 contacts. You man are out of control.
lol
Finally got it to work. I deleted the call log, and the phone book downloaded without problem.
I have also had the unresponsive screen issue on my Sensation, and had taken the battery out for a few hours, and also took the phone out of its leather case, but I think it was the call log deletion which solved the problem.
Hope this helps others.
