Does Pixer work for you - General Topics

I have installed Pixer4 MMS client by Electric Pocket on my PDA2K which has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 5.
I can send MMS's okay but cannot receive.
On searching the forum, I came across several postings where users had the same problem as me.
Has anyone got it working si that they can RECEIVE as well as well as send?
I am on O2 UK Pay and Go.

GPRS won't work on O2 or Vodafone

I have a XDA 1, initially with a O2 PayasyouGo Sim, after hours of telephone calls to O2 and hours searching the web I was catagorically told that pay as you go customers CAN'T GET GPRS. Now I read here that some people have got GPRS on O2 pay as you go !
So I switched to vodafone, who I was assured did give GPRS access to payasyougo customers. HOWEVER I'm now told Vodafone don't support the XDA and I can't get the settings from them.
To add insult to injury when I asked in the forum for the settings I got a posting calling me a jerk !
Is there a human being here who can tell me how to connect GPRS, frankly I on the verge of putting my XDA in the microwave and watching the sparks fly.

That was a brilliant Post Pete!
I'm a very green beginner with the Xda2 and am struggling to set it up, my knowledge of such things is very very basic so, if I may, can I call on you for assistance?
Best Regards

Sorted!
MMS settngs for Vodafone
Hmmm, I think I'm being a bit thick here, I would really appreciate it if you would go into the MMS settings in a bit more detail for Vodafone as I've tried inputting the settings you have listed but without success. I've tried getting the details from my mobile which is a vodafone live phone but I'm not sure where to put these settings in the XDA II.
Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

Have got internet working, but cannot see how you enter settings for MMs. URL and IP address. Can anyone help?
Same old, same old
You must be sick of this but is there anybody out there to talk me through these settings. I've put them in and checked the numbers are GPRS enabled but I'm getting no where.
HEEELLPPPP
when you follow my guide where do you start to get problems ?
I put all the settings in and when I go to log onto the internet it says it cannot connect due to unknown error.
what about messenger or mail or icq do such programs work?
and do your device connect to gprs without errors ?
The GPRS symbol isn't displayed at the top. I haven't got mail set up yet. Hoping if I got the internet working mail would be a doddle
what about when you type in your pincode ?
and connect to your cellphone provider does it display a G in a white square ?
because if it dont then your cellphone provider havent turned gprs on in his end

MMS after WM6 upgrade

Upgraded my c600 to WM6 using karhoe's excellent guide. I now have no MMS folder. Are SMS and MMS now combined in WM6 or do I need to download cabs to get it to work. I have received a MMS and can't down load it but not sure why. It appears in my SMS in box.
Any help appreciated
In EA ROM, the SMS and MMS are separated, did you upgrade your ROM ?
Yes followed your guide to the letter but now only have SMS and email after selecting messages from the menu. It doesn't mention MMS and I can't find anywhere to check MMS settings in connections or any other menu!!

HELP
I Hit this problem but have now solved it....
In WM6 (Perfect English Rom and Vanilla ROM's) MMS is now integrated with the Text messages and giving it the correct settings to get it working isn't that obvious, the MMS connection settings are buried under the menus.
You need to firstly set your GRPS settings according to your mobile network.
Start > Settings > Connections > GPRS
then you have to set your network's MMS settings..
Start > Messenging > Text Messages > New > MMS > Menu > Options > Message Options > Menu >MMSC Settings > Menu > New
If you need your GPRS and MMS settings then contact your operator or have a search of this site's forums, or look in this thread I use o2 in the UK and this is what I have...

This utility may help you.
Thanks Nitrogenious installed and it completed the settings as described. We are making progress, I can now send MMS but cannot download them. I found that to get GPRS and MMS working at the same time on my vox with the settings entered by connection settings program, they had to be altered slightly.
If it helps my o2 UK settings are this:

Internet explorer set to "Automaticly detect settings" and "The Internet"
With those settings both GPRS/EDGE Internet and MMS send/recieve work. I found the default settings only one or the other worked.
Hope that helps
Thanks for all that mate, however for some reason i dont get the "Connects to: o2 Active" option, i only have The Internet, Orange MMS, Secure WAP network, WAP network, and Work. They are my only options in the list i can choose.
Shall i delete or the Orange related settings?? Maybe this will help?
Also under the SMS Service option it asks SMS over: GSM preferred or GPRS?
Although my SMS are coming through no problems, but would this affect MMS?
Ok edit - MMS seems to be now working since i deleted all the orange connections, but still cant browse the internet so which settings affect this directly?

Have you ran the connection set-up program? That will put the o2 active options in, then you change the settings to what I have listed.
ah ok great, keep forgetting to do it once i get home. will do it tonight
thanks again for your help
mmm i just tried running that setup file on the handset, and after i selct where to install it to, i get an error "installation was unsuccessful. The program or settings cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions"
Ideas?
It sounds like your handset is still application locked, and you need to unlock it to install non-verified software. I don't have a link on how to do it at the moment, have a search for SDA_ApplicationUnlock on here.

CDMA TPS in UK vs MMS

I have bought a CDMA tp2 from the USA.. having flashed on a Juicy ROM, as Sprint ROM is useless for me.. I can send & reviece msgs but cant download the multimedia message.. the error msg:

Does anyone have an idea, of how to fix this pls.. there loads of threads on xda-dev but none for me particular situation.. thus necessitating the need for this thread...
come on guys.. help me if poss
You need to configure the data settings for your carrier.
SMS = comes over voice connection
MMS = notification comes over voice connection, body of message comes over data connection
If you don't have a data connection setup + the information for your carrier's MMS server entered you won't get MMS.
here are your settings that you need as also posted in your other thread...
