Please Someone Add New Rom

Can someone please add the new update for the UK T-mobile WWE
to the FTP site
cause the one that is there at the moment is a pile of rubbish, and i dont think it is a proper rom
for a start it should say Magician in the Hex Editor at the beginining and it does not say that,
Im dying to try the new update to see if it solves a few issues, with the phone

Are you sure it's complete? As much as i know there must be on the end of the file the entry HTCE

it is complete, as this is the file i used to make my bigstoarge, and i am using it on my mda compact. This was the tmobile.uk.1.12 rom that was uploaded, but has been broken some how on the ftp etc. mine does work

Would it be of interest if I'd upld a copy of what I believe to be a 'generic' (I don't find any reference to any brand or model) WM2005 upgrade file?
I can't afford loosing/ruining my Qtek, but if anyone is willing to try...
Please tell me how to upload to xda's ftp.

ftp has a username of "XDA" and password of "XDA", if you still have problems i'll upload the file to when i finished downloading it..
UPDATE: as i have guessed, it's a HIMALAYAN rom uploaded to a warez site :roll: , not a generic one

I wouldn't have thought a 'generic' WM2005 upgrade could exist. The problem with getting WM2005 onto the Magician is to do with the drivers for all the hardware on the Magician, not the actual WM2005 binaries. It won't work, don't believe the hype.

elyl is absolutely right.
So if you are so desperate to get WM2005 on your Magician, why not selling it and getting a HTC Charmer instead?

The archive contains the file: HimaUpgradeUT.exe so the update is for Himalaya devices only.

In theory it should work? or am i wrong?
When will this Charmer be available????
Since, and if all the rumors are correct, it should be a nice improvement over the magician.

Yes, you are wrong.
There is no such thing as a "generic" Windows Mobile 5. Each PDA has it's own specific build of Windows Mobile because all of the device drivers are embedded. It's kind of like having the BIOS and OS combined.
The reason there are some unofficial builds out there is because MS have built them specifically for testing purposes so that they could write and test some applications before WM5 actually came out. As far as we know, this never happened on the Magician.

The HTC Charmer should be available very soon as T-Mobile MDA Compact II. See your local dealer.

upgrading to english language xda mini

hi! i have an xda mini with windows mobile 2003 in german. but i need it in english! can somebody explain me how i can flah or install another language?!? unfortunately i have no idea and never something to do with xda's so i need a good description! maybe a hint to a howTo. i have an usc cable, is it enough to flash the xda?

pls, pls, pls follow the threads about 'TMO official 1.13 ROM' or 'upgrade to radio 1.13'.
The 1.13 TMO is WWE, Means English, and requires flashing . You'll need the maugradeut_noid.exe too, as you're changing the language.
Hope this helps, cause I don't feel happy posting the whole procedure again. It's well described in those threads & there's the sticky topic on rom upgrading too.

As long as it is a magician you can use the TMO-rom. Keep your O2 original ext-rom at a save place though, you might need it for some specific settings. When you skip the TMO branding you got a plain 1.13 installation. I recommend the camera patch & BT patch though as a minimum, they're not branded.

Did you unzip it first? You'll need to unzip this one & put the maupgradeut_noid.exe in the same folder. Then execute the maupgradeut_noid.exe instead of the maupgrade.exe. Might be you need to run it twice, don't know why. Editting the RUU.conf helps too I read here.
Edit ruu.conf with notepad add on top [CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1

Don't know there are a lot of unspecified shipped roms on the ftp, maybe you can find out with a hex-editor which brand they are.
When you reload the current ext-rom there shouldn't be a problem for O2 settings though .

I have an XDA Mini and I used the english ROM. You have to use the "noid" version of the ROM updater. Search the forum for instructions. The error you got was country code, correct?

Is there no one from sweden here with a S200 from brightpoint who can upload the new Swedish ROM to the ftp?
I do not have a Brightpoint IMEI, so I can not download it from MyQtek.se. :-(

Anybody able and willingly to share with the rest of us?

I have upgraded my S200 and I thinks it feels a little bit snappier. But I haven´t used my S200 for some months som I am not able to give a proper judgement. I have been using my TyTn so compared to the TyTn it feels slow. But compared to the old S200 rom it must be faster but how much is not for me to decide.

Mpx200 ROMs

Just found my old Motorola Mpx200 and was looking to upgrade it from WM2002 to WM2003SE or even WM5.
However since its such an old smartphone all links to downloads of these ROMs have been removed or the sites no longer exist. If anyone out there has any of these ROMs could you please upload them to the ftp site or maybe upload to a site such as rapidshare? Even email them to me directly if you can.

Right now I have a mpx200 brick. I would like to put the original ROM back on, but I can't seem to find that either.

Yeah i just realised when i came to extract that we need a password. My slovenian/slovak? is a little rusty so i cant see if that site has the password written down anywhere.
If your on Windows try download a RAR password breaker to see if it can crack the password. I would do it but there isnt one for Mac.
EDIT: How bad would a MPx220 ROM be, fatal for the phone? Worth a go you think?

have you tested it?

They do work, however you need an SD card to upgrade to WM5 because the ROM is too big for the phone so the overflow is stored on the SD card.
