Which rom should i use to upgade it
and whether it is an O2 or Imate it sshows O2mini but it is telstra branded.
i guess it was assembled or something.
can anybody have an idea about it.

What do want to gain with upgrading? You got the most recent O2/Telstra rom. If you insist use this link to get 1.13 http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=MagicianRomUpgrade.
It's T-Mobile so write down your voicemail & gprs settings! & backup your current ext-rom.

Rom upgrade problems, HELP Please.

I was in the middle of a rom upgrade with my magician and the battery has died now after trying to reupgrade with the original imate rom, it gives me a country code error. When I use get device data and view the devicedata.txt file all I get is 2 little squares where there was the operator ID. How can I reinstall the original rom from Imate and have it overwrite the operator ID on the device so I will except the upgrade. I have tried this via SD and with the original upgrade but with no luck. Help is really need please. I know this can be done I just aint sure how to go about doing it. It happen to be with my Qtek 2020 when upgrading to the 2.20 CHS version it changed from Qtek to o2.

s100/telia(sweden)/upgrading/gprs

clever as i am, i´ve upgraded my s100 with the latest rom from qtek, without reading everything. (and doing a bacup of old rom)
it says that if you got a telia locked phone you shouldent upgrade the rom.
becuse the telia locked phones have some settings needed for telia gprs/mms.
Well the gprs didn´t work befor upgrade and it dosent work now.
anyone have any clue to get 1.11.133 WWE rom to work with telia gprs ?
or does anyone have a telia original rom ?
TIA
Frans
Tried the gprs-file on www.qtek.se (the site is down for maintenance right now)?

Orange SPVm500 upgrade drama!

Lately I tried to upgrade my orange spv m500 to the newest rom upgrade available; One was made available by orange on the dutch site www.pocketpcclub.nl.
As I was installing the file the setup proces stopped while trying to upgrade the extended rom.
I tried and tried again, but to no afail. In my dispair i tried to upgrade with a spanish q-tek 1.11 rom. I ofcourse got the country code error and the wrong device id error......
I brought my spv m500 back to the shop; but the technicians couldnt replace the original extended rom.
So now im left with a spv without extended ROM.....
My device settings now are
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
Rom version: 1.12.00 WWE
ExtroM version: (empty field)
I still cant upgrade to the latest Extrom version............
Can anyone help me? Is it still possible to put back a working Ext rom?
Is it a UK M500?
Did you back the original rom up before upgrading?
Have you looked on the ftp site for the original m500 rom?
original Orange dutch Extended ROm version needed?
It's a NL rom(dutch) but I believe it has pretty much the same settings as the UK Version(few exceptions for GPRS settings I believe)
I havent found a original SPV M500 rom that comes with dutch settings.....So I would be very thankfull if somebody could upload such a version to the xda-ftp site.......
Hello,
In the upload directory is the new rom for the SPV M500 Dutch. It is the real Dutch version. After you flash your Magician it has all the settings voor Orange NL even the location is already pre selected.
It's a modified rom for the Imate- Jam, modified by Orange.
If you use the Maupgrade_NoID.exe it will falsh every magician I guess.
It works on my MDA Comapact (PM10A).
And in case that doesn't work, I have the Extended_ROM directory (Dutch) on my pc, so if you want I can send it to you.
(Though I don't think I'll be checking this forum too often, so send an email to draexin AT gmail DOT com)
Good luck ^_^

Upgrading to the newest ROM but which one ?

I got Jam and running 1.12.00 WWE ROM and 1.12.10 Radio 1.12.128 ExtROM . Last weeks i have tried to install BRS and i have succeeded but after a while i decided to original shipped ROM ( mentioned above ). Right after all these changings, my device started to fail getting SMS messages ( but sending without any problem ), i think while these tunings something went wrong or something and it caused this problem ( certainly its not about my SIM card or of its settings ). So here is my question : i wanna upgrade my device to the newest shipped ROM as well as the newest Radio vers. , in order to fulfill my aim what files ( i mean which ROM and Radio version and other needed apps etc. ) do i have to have and may i get them from xda ftp ? And my last request from you dear Masters, can this upgrade manage to solve my SMS problem ? This situation is getting very important for me day by day, its itching my brain every moment.
i dont think your sms problem is caused by the ROM. i did use 1.12, and had no sms problem like yours. now im using 1.13 rom and radio (but no ext rom), which i believe are the latest for magician at the moment. find them on the FTP. thanks
O2 Settings
Hi,
I've just upgraded to the O2 Big Storage Rom (WWE_O2_1.12.00.zip from the FTP), I was expecting (probably naiively) to have all the O2 settings etc to be installed as well.
There's no O2 customisation whatsoever and I don't even have the option for MMS in my messaging Folder.
Is there any way to just get the latest O2 Mini Rom?
Or to at least get the settings - i'm assuming that they all come from the extended rom? If so, how should I go about installing that?
I have searched and there's so much going on, it all gets a bit daunting.
Thank you for your help in advance

Does GPRS work for you on WM6?

Ok, simple really, answer the poll and if GPRS DOES work for you post your EXACT radio version and network provider and IE connection settings as a reply below
Phil
Working after upgrading to radio version 4.1.13.28_02.61.01.
Ukrainian provider UMC.
hmm everything is clear now .
People with radio 4.1 have working GPRS (edge too? )
and with 4.0 not.
How do I upgrade my radio? Should I flash a rom with radio and then come back to WM6 or somehow separately?
Just flash a rom with radio after flashing WM6.
and then go back to WM6..? could you please point me to rom with right radio? and my device (SPV C600) is rather Qtek 8300 or 8310?
I'll package radio version 4.1.13.28_02.61.01 with the update in about an hour.
Will update the first post when I've updated it
Phil
You mean a Tornado WM6 Rom with better radio? Cool!
will i have to do once more to format binfs via teraterm? and then run ruu?
You can actually just upgrade the radio ROM, it wont affect your WM6 OS
i don't have a radio rom
where we can get only radio rom?? because i don't want flash all ROM again

Click to collapse
jm012a9749 said that it will be available in an hour
but i understand that he pack radio update with entire rom and i want only radio update
You can find it in this forum, search the Tornado thread, few pages back, I just searched for it yesterday. I am only afraid the link to the radio is down due to inactivity. Well, downloading a 30-40MB file which he packed wouldn't take that long right?
I'm posting an updated ROM with it which should address the Audio issues people are experiencing, also some cabs for T9, Comm manager, Task manager and clear storage. So it IS worth flashing the entire ROM again.

After update GPRS works ;]
my mobile operator is Orange Romania, radio version is 4.1.xx,and my gprs connection it's working.
