Universal WM5 Rom flash? - General Topics

I need to flash my eten's rom. Suffice it to say that my m600 is stuck in bootloader mode and will not flash with eten's rom updater. I need either a file that I can put on my SD card or that I can run from my computer that will be able to at least temporarly flash my m600's rom so that I can then establish a partnership with my m600 and flash it to factory settings. I know that this is XDA and that the m600 is not an xda device but I'm desperate here. My phone hasnt worked in over 2 weeks, i've done a lot of forum searching and posting and trying to get eten to take it back without any luck. This seems to be the most technically orientated forum i've come across and i thank anyone for any help.

O2 restoring original boot rom

Hi,
ok I'm a lil bit desperate right now
I got my XDA II mini today and saw an update on the o2 site and started installing it .. only to notice that it was for the XDA II and not the mini. So, this thing killed my boot rom. I then found your guys site and installed GER_11201_150_11210 RUU package which went fine ... but well, that thing is for T-Mobile and I don't want my xda to be pink
So, I was looking through the forums to see how I can get my original image as I couldn't find an O2 RUU package. So, I tried the ntrw.exe write to SD card (512MB) thing. Inserted it in my xda, did a soft reset and then a hard reset. In the display serial shows up... but I never get it to ask me Press Power to Flash ...
so a) what am I doing wrong an b) how do I get the german o2 image back on my xda?
thanks
ok I understand now why the SDCard update doesn't work .. because I didn't have a chance to backup my boot rom :/
Where can I get a GER o2 boot rom installer that works on my device?
alright, I installed the 1.12 WWE exe package with the help of MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
... copied the existing boot rom to sd card, and extracted it from there. Overwrote the first 416 bytes in O2_GER_1.12.01_big_storage.nb1 with those of the extracted image.
Now, it's flashing with the SD card ... I'm confident that it'll work, we'll see
ok, the flashing worked ... but O2_GER_1.12.01_big_storage.nb1 is not really O2???
So, where do I get the real o2 boot image?
As much as i know it´s included in the ExtRom....
You can install it manually.
Don´t know who, but someone uploaded "Promasters Autoinstaller 1.5.zip" to the ftp. Very nice application. I would suggest you try/use it. There is an Option to change the bootlogo...
Regards
Stefan
you have to install the extended rom manually!

Think I've bricked my Kaiser - Can anyone help?

Hi everyone,
I think I may have bricked my Kaiser. I've been following some similar threads but nothing seems to be working to fix the problem.
I was going through the process to flash a new Rom, starting with installing HardSPL following this thread I was. I was having problems, I think because I have the 1.82 ROM version.
Finally, I thought I had HardSPL installed, so I continued to run KaiserCustomRUU.exe. This completed (jumped from 0% to 100%) very quickly. However, I reset my phone and it is now stuck in the tri-color bootloader screen
The screen has the says:
KAIS130
SPL-1.82.0000
CPLD-8
and has the letters RUUNBH in the top right corner.
I've tried removing the battery and resetting, but the phone always goes back to this screen. I've also tried running mtty, but without success. The command 'readconfig' returned a result 'Command error !!!'.
does anyone know of anything else I can try?
Small bit of good news: if I issue the command 'boot' using mtty, my phone boots into my original ROM successfully, with the mtty output:
InitDisplay: Display_Chip=1
No card inserted
OSSIReadBack ++
Read SI data from flash success
tail signature match
Checksum match
UserStorageSIPreload ++
It takes a long time to boot (like a couple of minutes), but it does eventually boots up fine. When I reset, I'm back at the tri-color screen though
If your at the tri-color screen, just reflash a new rom
Im not an expert but when its at the tri colour screen, try to flash Hard SPL again, it should pick it up and flash i believe.
If that goes through ok, then do the same to flash another ROM.
Again no expert at unbricking but its definately worth a try

Try this.
1.) Open ActiveSync and navigate to File > Connection Settings - Uncheck Allow USB connections.
2.) Download this ROM http://rapidshare.com/files/5781641...dio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar.html and flash it to your device.
That should work for you.
hi alltheway. thanks for the advice!
I don't want to sound ungrateful, but are you sure the above is safe? I just don't want to make a wrong step now and totally screw up the device (now that I can successfully do a manual boot using mtty).
I know you can't guarantee it but is this what others who are stuck in the bootloader have done?

I had this problem about 2 weeks ago.
I was flashing one of Dutty's Great ROMs and I lost power at the house and shut down my computer when I was 46% done.
I had the same RUUNBH in the top right hand corner. All I did to fix this was flash a factory shipped ROM like the one I provided to you and it worked great. No issue thus far.
Honestly I can't gurantee 100% if this will totally fix your problem but I am 95% sure.
Unless some other users have an answer for you I think this will be your best solution. Regardless of what you do you will have to flash to a new ROM anyways.
Also, I'm a bit dubious on whether i will be able to flash to that ROM. I don't think I have the right HardSPL installed to flash roms (see what my boot-loader screen says in the first post).
I'm no expert though.... obviously
Thanks for all the info alltheway. I'm too tired now (will probably f*ck the thing up even further! ), so I'll try flashing this tomorrow.
Here's some more info I've collected using mtty (my phone is an O2 XDA Stellar):
Code:
Cmd>info 2
HTCSO2___001¯JG±HTCE
Cmd>getdevinfo
GetDevInfo: Get CID OK
HTCSKAIS1300O__0HTCE

Hi tqm. I've been following that post but as far as I can tell there is no solution there yet.
From what I can tell from that thread (and others), the only way stop the phone booting to the tri-color screen (in RUUNBH mode) is to flash with a ROM that matches the vendor. I think because I haven't been able to install HardSPL properly, my phone's version of SSPL will only load O2 ROMs (could be wrong here, but that's the picture I'm building ). Unfortunately no-one seems to have extracted the ROM from an XDA Stellar :\
I believe alltheway's solution above worked for him because he had HardSPL installed properly. He could load the stock ROM to fix the phone, because his SSPL version allowed different ROMs to be loaded. I'm not certain of this, and I'll probably try his suggested solution when I get home today... but I'm not too confident.
If only there was an mtty command to just get the phone out of 'RUUNBH' mode. I've seen the command 'task 8' mentioned on here, but it doesn't work when I try it. Does anyone know of a list of mtty commands for the Kaiser anywhere?
Definitely flash the original ROM, it will get your device to the default HTC shipped state.
Then sync phone with ActiveSync, install HardSPL again and then flash custom ROM.
I remember i had the same issue but the original rom is a lifesaver
You mean the original HTC ROM? or the original O2 ROM? (what my phone originally came with)
If I don't have one of the HardSPL versions posted on the forums (I believe they never installed properly, which is what caused all my problems I think), will I still be able to flash the stock HTC ROM:
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.exe
Basically my questions is: is this stock HTC ROM flash-able to ALL kaisers? (even without downloading/installing HardSPL from the forums)
If not (i.e. I can't flash even the stock HTC ROM), is it expected that if I can't successfully install HardSPL, my Kaiser will only accept O2 ROMS?

IMHO the HTC stock ROM should work even without HardSPL, at least for me it worked fine... but just for sure have your O2 stock ROM by hand.

I don't thinks there's a way to flash HardSPL on tri-color scrren so far, coz activesync cannot connected to computer
the best way is trying to find the phone's offcial ship rom to flash
No luck trying to flash with the stock HTC ROM:
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship.exe
After getting to 1%, it reports an error:
Error [294] : Invalid Vender Id
As suspected, looks like this will only accept an O2 ROM Will have to wait until one is available.
Did you try installing HardSPL and then reflashing?
the stock HTC rom will not load onto your kaiser simply because it is still CID locked to O2's CID code. You HAVE to find the O2 rom that your device came with or any O2 ROM and reflash that and you will be good to go. You may also try and flash HardSPL but I dont think its going to work. But remember have a friend or someone on the forum dump and rebuild the O2 rom for you and just reflash the OS.nb or ROM only no radio!
It is very simple to dump and rebuild a rom so if you have a friend that has a kaiser have him over for an hour and dump his
thats your only shot at this point.

My current ROM version is 1.82. I don't think installing HardSPL has been solved for this ROM version, which I think is where all my problems started. I have tried, but no version of HardSPL (that I've found) will install correctly.

Thanks for the reply austinsnyc, this is what I'm hoping to do now, I'm watching this thread 'Has anyone dumped the o2 Stellar rom yet ?' closely Maybe I should reconstruct the ROM myself, I'm just a bit worried about arsing that up as well I'd rather someone experienced reconstructed and verified the ROM (on a phone that isn't already messed up).
Out of interest, would you be able to give me a succinct explanation of what is actually wrong with my phone at present? As far as I can tell, the only problem is that the boot-loader is stuck in RUUNBH mode. Has part of the ROM on the phone actually been destroyed?
I'm assuming right now that the point of flashing the O2 ROM is just to make the phone 'finish' a flash and get out of RUUNBH mode. Or is it actually to re-instate something that has been lost?
If it is to reinstate something that's at present lost, is this data definitely part of the os.nb?
If it's just to get the boot-loader out of RUUNBH mode, I'm REALLY gutted that there isn't just a mtty command to do this
Oh yeah, and perceptivepixel.com Ace!

Possible brick issue HELP PLEASE

Hey GUys,
I'm not new to flashing and roms and all that jazz. Had the random stuck in bootloader that wouldn't resolve itself today (using 3.29) Loaded kaisdiagsd.nbh and flashed stock att rom. (probably should have gone right for the spl patch but I was frustrated and needed my phone) Boot loader is now v3.65
Flashed rine, reboot, same issue. Phone will now only load the stock 6.1 att rom from the micro sd. kaisdiagsd.nbh is stuck on loading as for all other roms. I can occassionally get the os to load using mtty. From there tried jumpspl and it would not connect via usb at all.
When in the stock 6.1 os I get the old unrecognized usb device in both xp and vista.
Is there anything else I can do to reflash spl? All i can think of is trying the task 2a, wiping everything and trying to flash from diag but I don't even want to try that route without something solid in place.
The phone is 2 years old, upgrading when the touch pro 2 hits att in aug sept or whenever, but I need my phone.
I have gone through many many many posts. I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.
Is there anything else I can do to flash a n
Have you tried to flash the SPL from the SD card? Worth a shot if not.
thanks for getting back, i have tried..multiple. It will just sit on loading as for everything except that damn att rom. i've been going at this for hours and hours. just to make sure, the spl flash will still be named KAISIMG.nbh correct? or has my frustration gotten to me
Yes but make sure you dont put the .nbh. Just kaisimg or it will be kaisimg.nbh.nbh and wont work
haha, yeap. i'm an i.t guy so i have file extensions showing by default so thats golden
I have the stock att rom up and running so the phone is functional, but that said, its the ****y att rom and I'd really like to change that asap., I'm just tired and fed up at this point really
Also for flashing SPL from SD card you need kaisdiag.nbh. Place it on the SD too. I should have told you that first. Its in my 4shared if you dont have it.
just tried it. it is stuck on the loading screen....

My treo 750 wont boot

Hello people!! i've been reading this forum for a loong time and yesterday i decided to register.I really like this forum but i have a problem.
While tryng to flash my 750 it stops in GSM an it doesn't pass that part and now it only starts in the bootloader screen.
The first two parts, are OK, but then stops in GSM.
Is there any way to make it pass? or to make it boot WM again.
I've tried with diferents WM version (2.23, 2.27 an with WM5) but it's the same.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for your answer.
I've been reading about the Hard SLP but it needs an active sync conection, and I can't do that.
I read it from here.

HardSPL is necessary for you to flash to a non-carrier/custom ROM.
If you have the original ROM with you, you can restore the phone from that ROM package.
Whatever the case, do yourself a favor & find someone with a Windows computer & flash the phone from the desktop ROM package.
Ok, but the thing is that my treo won't boot WM so i can't have a conection with active sync and i can't run de upgrade for desktop.I've already tried that and it doesn't connect.
That's my problem.
it only boots on bootloader screen and shows:
Palm Tr
IPL-0.20
Palm Tr
SPL-0.24.0000
Thats why I can't upgrade using the USB method.
Thanks Again!
Regards!
I'm still in the same situation.
is there any way to Hard SLP with and SD card?
Is it possible without using a desktop computer?
Thanks!!

From the bootloader screen information, it's obvious you had a stock ROM & had not performed HardSPL.
But since your Treo is able to load the bootloader, all it needs is a stock ROM to be flashed using the SD card method.
Search around here for the SD card updating method & the stock SD update file.
Extract the ROM image onto the SD card according to the instructions & you'll be able to flash the stock ROM onto the Treo.
Once you did that, your Treo should be able to boot WM & you can then perform all the other steps needed to flash a cooked/unofficial ROM onto it.
Help please!

[Q] wrong rom update, what now?

Hello everyone.
Yesterday I saw that there was a new update of my favourite rom EnergyRom. So today I downloaded it, installed it, everything went well. Until I restarted my Raphael ( raph300 btw). It kept stucking on the bootscreen.. even after I installed the rom again it still stucked at bootscreen. So I began trying to fix it with installing my hardSPL again, that didn't work either, still no further than my bootscreen.. after a while I decided to downgrade my spl to my stock-spl. that went well but still stuck on bootscreen. So I tried to install my stock-rom from my provider: (t-mobile netherlands). But then the Rom updater stuck at 0% and I received the well-known [262] error. Suddenly I saw that I stupidly accidentally installed the cdma version of EnergyRom instead of the one I needed: GSM. That explained why it wouldn't boot in the first place. Now I tried to install the olinex hardspl, but the updater stopped everytime with the 262 error. I connected my device to another computer with windows XP, but there I saw that the computer recognized it as a CDMA device.
I know it is a stupid mistake, but is there anybody who knows what I could try? I also tried to hard-reset it, but that wouldn't help either. Any help would SO be appreciated

As I remember 2 years ago,HardSPL is somehow depended on RadioROM. Maybe the ROM influenced the Radio with HardSPL,so try to reflash HardSPL again and Radio. Or it works absolutely not?

No, I can't update any ROM. So now i'm stuck with my stock SPL, therefore I wanted to Hard SPL my device, but that didn't work and since then I haven't been able to update any ROM.. would flashing on a different PC help maybe? now I am on a Win7 Pc but maybe it will work in WinXP..
It is also not a bad idea to try different PC with XP to flash. I remember apx.1 month ago I tried to update HTC Trinity with WM6.5 ROM and it keeps failed with some errormessage(nowadays I can't remember which, but the syndroms was similar). Then I considered it as "bricked",until I tried another PC and everything wents correctly and the phone is in its productivity again. Yes,tfirst PC was company notebook with lot of safety kind of software(firewall,this,that,etc...) and the second one was my private laptop at home, just equipeed with regular antivirus software, all updates disabled(instead of AV).
Btw,what about trying to flash official ROM,while you are with stockSPL? Maybe it helps you to startup again the device and then HardSPL again afterwards...

yeah, that's what I thought too. I tried that also, also tried other custom roms btw before going to the stock rom. But with the stock rom it also stuck at 0% on the update
so, today I tried to flash my rom with two different computers: one with win7 and one with winXP. didn't work either.. I read the MTTY thread and after I installed the custom driver I was able to connect trough MTTY. But what commands should I use to clear the ROM and is there any way that I can update my rom via MTTY?
search MTTY on the forums the first link has all you need to clear the rom and flash via MTTY
I think you may be screwed. You should've asked for help before you started messing with the spl. I don't understand why you thought reverting to the stock spl would be a good approach; it may well be the end of your device. What you should have done is just flashed a stock rom-that would probably have restored your device. Re-flashing hard spl is kind of pointless. The only thing that can over-write hard spl is the special 'stock spl' that olinex put together. It's not entirely stock, and I am not sure that it can be over-written by hard spl. The sole purpose of the 'return to stock spl' is so that you can flash a stock rom, then restore the spl so that you can return your device for warranty/service without being dinged for having unofficial firmware on the device. When you do this, you aren't anticipating getting the device back, so I'm not sure that hard spl can over-write it. I know there have been discussions on whether or not it can be over-written, but I'm not sure that there was ever a clear answer. Anyway, with the 'stock spl' on the device, you can't flash any cooked roms to the device. If you are very lucky, you may be able to flash a stock rom. So, my advice is to try a few stock roms.
I'm pretty sure you'll need hard spl to run mtty/task 29, so I wouldn't waste your time on that. I really doubt it works, and I'm not sure what it's going to buy you, anyway. You really need to be able to flash a rom to the device, and you can't flash a cooked rom with that spl. Maybe you can flash a stock rom, but maybe not. I'm not sure which carrier it will let you upgrade to, either.

yes I did, but the problem is that I can't access my Internal Storage, so I can't put any ROM's on that. Tonight I tried to flash a ROM via my SD card, but when I put my device in bootloader-mode it kept saying that it was 'loading...'
If the bootloader just says 'loading', then you probably need to either reformat the card to FAT32 or rename the image to RAPHIMG.nbh. Make sure you get the extension correct (not RAPHIMG.nbh.nbh).
But you're not going to flash anything with the stock spl, anyway. You need hard spl. I'm not sure you can even flash a stock rom off of the sd card-it probably needs to do it over usb.
I updated lot of smartphones already, but it was already few years ago. However I think, that SP's are flashed with MTTY. For that I needed ROM image in nbh file and with some commands you tell the PC,that it should flash it. Don't forget to disable USB connection in Activesync on XP in case MTTY will connect.

I already managed to connect my device with MTTY, the only thing I need to know is which commands I can use to flash the ROM through MTTY. It just sucks that I am not able to go to my Internal Storage, otherwise it would be much simpler I think.

Oke, thanx for your input. I tried to reset my ROM memory with mtty/task 29, but that didn't work, just like you predicted. So my next question is: 'Is there any app that can perform the task 29 without MTTY?'. I googled it, but I could only find the task 29 app for the HTC HD2.. And further, does anybody have a recovery ROM for my RAPH300? I tried the stock ROM on the XDA thread of HTC Raphael, but still got the 262 error
There's really no point in doing Task 29. The bad rom isn't what's killing you now, it's the SPL. It's going to block task 29, no matter what you try (that's one of it's jobs). You should just try to get hard spl back on the device, or try flashing every stock rom you can find. I tend to doubt that either will work, though. The only other option would be to look up the jump spl developed by PoF. I don't remember the name (search for threads started by him), but it was a universal soft spl that would temporarily CID unlock devices so you could flash custom roms. I've never used it before, and I don't know how it loads. You may not be able to load it onto your device with its current state, and it may not even be compatible with a Raphael (it's 3 or so years old), but it's probably worth at least checking out.
Edit: here's the jump spl link. I think you may have to activate it off the device.
