How to sync 2 pdas - General Topics

Does anyone know if there is a way to sync two pdas together without the need for a computer?
I have 2 xda's - XDA2 and an XDA2s. I still use both of these believe it or not and I dont use windows so I cannot sync to my machine. (Linux syncing sucks).
What I want to do it be able to sync both my pdas together using bluetooth if possible?
Can this be done? If so can someone point me in the right direction?

How to synchronize PDA with two PCs ??

Hello
Sorry if this is obvious for some people or can be found already at the forum, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I would like to synchronize my PDA (HTC TyTN) with two PCs, one in my home and second in my office. Is that possible at all?
Thanks in advance for any help.
It is, except for Outlook mail.

Do you mean that I could synchronize everything (f.e. contacts, calendar) with two PCs except for e-mails?? That's what I want to do. Mostly those two things above. How I can do that? When I'm connecting my PDA to 2nd computer i can choose what I want to synchronize, but f.e. contacts, calendar are greyed out! So is there a solution?
i sync with my work and home computer no problems
ok so maybe you could tell me something more about it? how can I do that? Like I said when I'm connecting to 2nd PC some items are greyed out.
yeah i sync with my Work laptop and Home pc fine, one has to be the better of the 2 so i use my laptop as the main sync.
Home is just for favourites and passthru
OK so is that possible at all to organize contacts and calendar at work and in home as well? Both are desktop PCs so it would be hard for me to carry one of them around

Can't use ActiveSync at work

HI
My work has ban ActiveSync, but I should get around it by using a different program.
I need a different sync program to use at work for my Outlook pleasee.
What the best one out there
Thanks
Banned where I work too.
My employer has standardised on Blackberry when they are paying. If you get your own device you can't plug it in.

Do you have an exchange server? If so, check out www.emoze.com
Super easy set up, free and it works well. I have not had any problems other than not being able to sync tasks.
Thanks I will give that a try
Unfortunately, most of the 'other programs' for desktop sync that I've tried require activesync to be installed first. Intellisync and GW PDA Connect both use the activesync connection to the phone as just a pipe to the phone, as neither of them can open a connection to the phone directly.

Direct PC integration

Hey all,
I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a fair while (and I've been using the realVGA rom on my HTC universal for about a year - you guys do an astounding job). I've just formatted my PC and gone through the typical process of syncing my mobile, getting all the contacts in outlook and the like.
Then it struck me - wouldn't it be pretty useful to use your phone directly from outlook while it's charging in its dock? Is there any program (or standard option in outlook - I'm buggered if I can see it ) that lets you make a call directly through your mobile, but obviously letting you use the PC microphone and speakers?
Try THIS to make a call from from the PC while the pda is cradeled with the comp.
You can also try SOTI pocket controller pro to remotely manage the PDA from the comp. So you can make a call, send SMS's, make registry changes etc...
Note: you'll not be able to you use the PC microphone and speakers for making and receiving calls, you'll need a bluetooth headset, but i think its close enough to what you want to try...
Cheers, that's pretty close - though I'll have to get a headset for it. I find a real shame (and quite an oversight) that this isn't already integrated with outlook or activesync (or windows sync centre or whatever it's called now )
I also saw someone trying to do something similar in a thread on here with an outlook macro but it's not for working for me. Perhaps it's because I'm on office 2007 or vista? I have to say, I'm sorely tempted to code something like this myself, though I've no idea where to start with activesync libraries. Are there any common resources as such?

how 2 connect 2 the device without activesync?

Hi,
is it possible to receive information from an windows mobiel powered device without using active sync?
I want to code a sync-tool for contacts, adresses and so on. until now i know no possiblity to use active sync for this matter, so i wanna try it this way. i just used delphi and the RAPI.pas but there is no chance to receive PIM informations. So, any other way is welcome: php, ajax, c++, pascal - however the main point is: i wanna have contact to my WM device from an desktop application.
thanks a lot

[Q] Possible to sync Android calendar to Mac via USB only (no cloud)?

While this issue is rather well covered on the internet, I havent seen anything new about it for a while, so I will re-ask a common question doctors have about being able to use an Android device for work purposes.
I can't have my calendar sync through the cloud (HIPAA laws regarding patient privacy). Is there a way to sync the calendar only of either Droid Incredible, Droid 2, or Droid X to iCal via USB connection only? Cable syncing is permitted, but cloud syncing opens a can of worms thats not worth messing with.
I know that HTC Sync will allow this with Droid Incredible on a Windows machine, but that wont work for a Mac with iCal. I am unaware of Motorola software like HTC Sync even for the Windows side of things.... but I just thought I'd ask.
This will make the difference between another Android device being purchased or not.
Thanks in advance.
