Intellisync installation to an SD card - General Topics

Hi I have a number of XDA II's that require Intellisync installing to them. I have installed it as default i.e. to the XDA itself and this is fine as long as the device does not run out of battery. This has been happening a lot with the users so I am trying to install this software to the SD card. However when I try to install to the SD card I get the following error : -
"Error parsing package names from installDir\Storage Card\Sync Client"
Intellisync have not been of much assistance and can shed no light on this
Please help any body have a solution on how to get this software installed onto the SD card.
Thanks

SDA Storage problems

Hey! New here, read quite a bit... I have managed to Application unlock my phone and have been able to add mp3 ring tones. I am trying to install the .NET Framework for app I'd like to try but I am getting errors saying I can't install due to lack of space. Are there things I can delete? I moved all my pics n stuff to my 1gig card already. Can most applications be installed / run from the sd card?
Thanks for your input!

install netcf v2 in your storage card
There is a version that can be installed onto the storage card, I don't know why MS made this so difficult.
Search around, I forget exactly where the directions are, but someone did a nice write up tutorial.

In the About tab I have
Avail storage = 4.29M
Total storage = 19.93M
Avail memory = 16.90M
Total memory = 45.05M
And I have a 1gig card installed and have mucho space there....

I am also facing the similar problems with installation of .NET Compact Framework and could not succeded yet. Can anyone suggest the solution for this problem. Thanks in advance.
Try to copy the CAB on you MiniSD then execute it from there..
The version of Net CF2 that can be installed on storage card is the service pack 1 version. It will install through ActiveSync, and when that happen, usually the file will be copied to the main memory first and then installed from there to whicever location is chosen. In this case, you will get an error saying that installation failed due to lack of space.
Just go to your ActiveSync folder in your desktop and you will see the CAB file there. Copy it over to your storage card and install from there.
.NET CF Installation
Even after executing the CAB file from storage card, it is giving the same problem. How to go ahead ?

try this install this one:
http://rapidshare.com/files/34931073/NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab
Still could not able to install .NET CF2, even with the rapidshare download. Any other way ?
Same here... I haven't had any luck installing the .net pgm at all...
Maybe this bump might help us!

You need about 5.5M free on-board storage to get this to install. I had to move my entire /windows/appmgr folder to the storage card *temporarily* while I installed it. Then just moved it back after. This was the ONLY way I could get this to go...5.5M MINIMUM.
Good luck,

Cabs won't install to SD card

I noticed this happening first in mfrazzz's XM6 and just noticed it now when I was installing google maps. When I install the cabs it gives me the option to install to either the phone or the SD card and when I choose the card it still installs it to the phone. Also, when I try to move it to the card using pocket mechanic it won't let me because it thinks it's already on the card. Anyone have any idea why it's doing this and how to fix it?

Smartphone "Access Denied" when running a newly installed application on SD card

Smartphone "Access Denied" when running a newly installed application on SD card
I have a bizarre problem with my smartphone (MTeor WM5 Smartphone edition). When I first got the phone I unlocked it and installed a few applications on the microSD card. They all worked and everything has been fine until now.
I have tried to install new applications on the microSD card but they all fail to run saying "access denied" claiming that the application is unsigned. If i install the same application on the phone instead the application runs as expected. I've tried a number of applications and they all suffer the same problem.
I've rerun all the unlocking hacks again, and rechecked the registry, neither of which was resolved the problem.
It's got me stumped! Any help would be greatfully accepted.
SD Card not locked?
it's not locked
i can copy file onto it
When you copy a file to it, it does not say access denied?
I believe i may have found the the solution: The memory card has a strange fault, when you copy files or install apps to it, it seems to register them in the directory structure even though there isn't any file there. when you restart the phone every thing copied or installed is either gone or corrupted. The same thing happens when you copy files while the card is in a card reader.
What made this very confusing was that no errors occured at any point.
Thanks for your help Jazzamataz

[Q] SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem on Android (Htc Magic/Sapphire)

Hi everyone!
I am very new to this forum as well as any deep knowledge of Android OS.I have a problem with my Htc Magic phone. It doesn't read sd cards anymore; every sd card (new or used) I put in the phone it says the same message (while my pc can read them using a card reader) "SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem". I tried to format the SD card both with pc and phone, with no results.
I had already taken the following steps :-
1) Formatted the card using PC & Phone
2) Formatted the card using SD Formatter v3.0
3) Reseated the SD card after pulling it out, pushing it back in and rebooting
4) Reverted back to Android 1.6 after an official Android 2.2 update
5) Run Anti-virus check on the whole mobile using Dr.Web android anti-virus app.
6) Physically opened up phone to check all the connectors are intact, which are
indeed intact and packed the phone again.
All these steps taken but nothing, the problem still persists. Is this some kind of hardware failure or a unknown software glitch. Many people are facing this issue but no proper resolution to this problem.
I would also like to add that while reverting my phone from Android 2.2 to 1.6, the phone was able to read image file "sappimg" from the sd card in recovery mode, but after that when the phone booted the same error message is coming up.
Guys please help me out on this if U have some solution as I am clueless now.
What can I do? Thanks!

[6.0.1] Audible won't start - SD Card required

Hi,
I just installed Cyanogenmod 13 on my wifes phone (Moto G 2nd Gen) and used the SD-Card as internal storage instead of multimedia.
Everything seems to be working fine, except that Audible throws the following error message:
"SD Card required - Please make sure the SD card is mounted in your device."
I tried Google and this seems to be an extremely rare problem, making me wonder if it's just because I use the SD card for internal storage or if it is something more serious.
Thank you in advance!
Cheers,
Markus
try a different card, try the card in a pc to see if it works, format the card in the phone, reboot the phone.
Sent from my A0001 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks for the reply!
Somehow we got it to work after ignoring the issue, installing some more apps and rebooting a couple of times.
I was really scared there for a while because I really couldn't find a lot about this issue.
Thanks again! :fingers-crossed:
Its an permissions issue. Settings, apps, audible, Permissions, switch to allow storage..job done.
