Wifi Problems

Hi,
I have a prohpet which originally had the following firmwares etc:
IPL: 2.10
SPL: 2.10.0000
GSM: 02.07.20
OS: 2.10.7.27 NOR (Norwegian)
After following the instructions on how to first downgrade to wm5 (NoVendorId) and then upgrade to wm6 (I use pdaviet 4.0.0.4) my wifi stopped working. Nothing comes up in the list. Yes, I did do a hard reset, and yes I can access the wlan from my other phone. It didn't even work in the wm5 novendor version. Everything else seems to be working fine. Does anyone know what the problem can be? I even installed WifiFofum (http://www.aspecto-software.com/rw/applications/wififofum/) but that did not work either.
I would appreciate any help...
The new firmware etc is now:
IPL: 2.10
SPL: 2.20.0000
GSM: 2.61.21
OS: 4.0.0.4 PDAViet

when i was on PDAViet 4.0.0.0.4,i noticed that WiFi didn't turn on when i pressed the comm manager button... Instead,it turned 1-2 minutes later by itself.... So i went back to PDAViet 4.0.0.0.3a...

OK, I will try to flash it with 4.0.0.3a later today.
BTW, how did you notice that wifi did not get turned on?

I downgraded to 4.0.0.3a, and wlan is still not working. Any suggestions are welcome.

I think I have tried every possible rom now, and still no go on getting wlan/wifi to work. It just wont search or find any networks. If someone has the same problem or a solution, please let me know.

one solution could be to upgrade to radio 2.69 ¿?. well. you can try, at least this upgrade isn't so "destructive" as the ones you used previously

I tried that, and didn't work. Atlast I tried the AKU rom, and it bricked my rom. Now when it starts the radio does not show, and the os wont start. Tried to flash back with no luck.

Obviously, you have a phone got bad WiFi hardware if you said you couldn't get it working under WM5.
Look at it this way, these WM6 ROMs have come a long way. They still get bugs here and there, but if you still get one consistance WiFi problem, most likely is not the ROM causing it. You are hitting your head against a brick wall.

Help Needed

I was atempting to upgrade ROM in to the "L26 WM6 PRO Business V7 Videocall 2" ver and everything went well, but there were problem with phone calls, quality of sound during conversation exaclly, so that i was trying to update radio to 1.17 ver, and something goes wrong right now my exec don't want to turn on and he hang on the 1 splashscreen with radio ver and ver of soft,
i tryied to fixe it by downgrade rdio to 0.00 and update rom again in to the 1.15 ver included in L26 rom, but nothing has happend still the same problem
who could possibly know what had happedn with my exec, one guy on polish side said that ther is some kind of " mamaich method" to fix or check damages which I had made
Could anyone help me, I'm looking for any solution for this matter ??

Are you still able to get into bootloader?
If so, flash back your full original ROM (M$ + Radio + Ext).

I know the subject is common but none of what I found matched my precise problem :
I flashed Nothrills v3 FRA, success, but I in two phases (progress until 19%, freeze, ERR 262, again : ok).
Then I wanted to upgrade the radio rom : no way. ERR 262 whatever I do :
- retried 3 times
- rebooted PC (XP)
- reinstalled ActiveSync
- reflashed HardSPL (3.28)
- even tried with SD card : FAT32 + KAISIMG.nbh, got 3 colors + SERIAL and nothing happened
Now I cannot even flash the splashscreen : 262
It's not catastrophic, my Kaiser works ok, but I feel stuck, no good feeling, even with this nice ROM.
Any idea ?

Have you tried other roms and HardSPLs, Check your bootloader(tricolour)screen to make sure HardSPL has flashed. i had a similar issue that was solved using jump spl 1.56 before HardSPL Flash.

do you have any startup applications?
some applications may cause this error
i used to have it when i was having battery status running
try hard reset
then perform whatever you want to do

Yes, it (bootloader) showed hardSPL 3.28 and I'm already using jump 1.56.
Concerning hardSPL I'm using 3.28 since it (nothrills) is a 6.1 based on a HTC ROM (3.29 is for ATT, no ?), which one do you think I should try ?
Flash history :
received with orange 6.0
new orange 6.1
new HTC 6.1
Nothrills 6.1 V3
then stuck : here comes the 262
So I can't try any other ROM, for the moment

Thanks for the idea, I'll try to withdraw anything that starts after boot, and then if no progress : backup and hard reset.

I tried hard reset : RUU still stays at 0%, and then "262" ...
I suppose I'll have to give up, since I really have no other idea what to try...

Back on air, oops I meant flashing !
I just wanted to let the forum know it as it might interest someone in the same situation :
I got free from NoThrills ROM (no offense Master cook ) by reflashing the new orange official ROM (I had set the pagepool to 32mo), everything went right.
Then I upgraded Radio ROM to 1.65.24.36 without any problem. I suppose I won't have any issue with other ROMs

Polaris Hardware-Trouble!

Hey Guys,
I set my Polaris back to Original ROM (WM6.0)[GERAMN] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-379796.html) everything worked, but then I noticed that the polaris goes in "stand-by-mode" and the screen is black. Normally I push the on/off-button to turn on the display but this doesn't work any more. Also the buttons arn't working... Only a Soft-Reset helps...
Can anybody help me?

My Radio-ROM is: 1.58.21.23
ROM-VERSION: 1.25.407.1 GER
Do you have a Step-by-Step instruction how to reflash everything back to the original GERMAN ROM (also SPL-SCREEN), because of the warrenty?!
SPL-SCREEN shows:

i have solved the probelm.
i installed a RADIO: 1.58.26.20
but the reception (GSM) is very bad...
any help?

I had this problem, sent phone back to O2, if you find out what radio gives a good signal I would be very interested, as you can read from my thread I have lost signal all together since receiving phone back

I have sort of the same problem, my polaris is in Spanish.
I figured out that the problem was in the usb connection.
Its very rare, but it works.
I have to use the phone with the checkbox of the "enable advanced network funcions" checked. That is in Settings, connections, usb to pc (or something like that, again, my phone is in spanish)...
If i uncheck that, when the phone enters in the sleep state, it hangs and never wakes up.
I hope this is usefull.

Hey Guys!
I use the XDA Orbit2 (polaris) with the 1.64.08.21 Radio and the latest german udK ROM.
The Screenerror disappears after flashing the udK ROM and the bad Radio with flashing the 1.64.08.21.
The screen thing is in my oppinion only an O2 error, and the radio thing is an HTC bug.
So try to flash and be happy!
But read the "HOWTO to HARDSPL" your device and "HOWTO FLASH"!!
Without you could brick your device!!

WM6.$ freezing randomly

Hello,
I am experiencing random freezes with almost any WM6.$ ROM i flash it with.
My current setup is:
HardSPL 3.56
Radio Version: 1.65.21.18
ROM Version: Anryl 21500 rev6
I have also tried Medkid's versions, 1.33, 1.62, 1.62F
Ill give wjtk's version a try today see how this goes.
The problem is, that it will freeze on stupid times, while its a clean installation. e.g. yesterday Medkid's 1.62F froze up on me when i tried to change the time. Then it needed a soft reset through the button, it froze on the boot screen (the one that shows the radio version etc etc) had to soft reset again through the button and i somehow hard reset it that way...
Any ideas?
(Im pretty sure i have CID unlocked it, is there any way to check it?)

This subject has been covered many many times, there really was no need to start yet another thread on it.
Try flashing cmonex's 3.29hard s Spl., it is a patched spl for random freezes.

6.5 is still in development so it can't be error free no matter you change the radio's, SPL's. But our master chefs are really working hard to outperform MS guyz.
