Good Evening all,
I got a o2 exec in uk and had a couple of questions on how it works.
1:- How do I get voice activated calling to work?
2:- Does itt have a radio, and how do i get that to work ?
3:- I have installed tomtom 5 and it works except that when i remove the car charger (or dont plug it in), my screen goes black after a few seconds, how do I stop this?
You'd be better posting this in the Exec forums....
1) The button second from left on the side of the unit that looks like a speech bubble (next to the camera button). Or, Start > Programs > Voice Speed Dial. If you don't have any recorded then it will prompt you to add some - unfortunately it doesn't interpret your contacts, only recognise any recorded sounds you have linked to a contact. Have you read your manuals as this is explained in there...
2) It does not have a radio, though if you're connected to your PC / connected via Wi-Fi to your PC then you can stream via TCPMP or maybe even WMP.
3) Your screen goes black because your power settings dictate to turn the screen off to conserve power after a preset time. Start > Settings > System > Power and also the System > Backlight settings will help this by changing the times, etc.
I strongly suggest you look at the manuals as this is also explained in there.

Hi all,
I've been running TNT 1933 Touchflo for a few of days now, and everything works like a champ.
I do have a question though regarding bluetooth with MS Voice Command 1.6. When I click the button on my bluetooth headset, the phone screen (dialer) comes up, but that's all that happens. I read around, and saw that I may need to change some registry entries. However, my registry entries seem fine:
HKLM\Software\OEM\Voice Command\Path = \Program Files\Bluetooth Voice Command\BTVCBasic.exe
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule = \Windows\btagext.dll
I ran the program in the Path of the voice command (manually, just by clicking the file), and it did exactly what I needed it to do. The only problem is, that program isn't run when I click the button on the headset. I have a G3 Wizard, IPL/SPL 2.26 with 2.19.11 radio rom (not that it matters). Any suggestions?
Much appreciated.
Up you go! (aka, *bump*)
Come on guys, some of you gurus know this.
Aww come on.
I have At&t Tilt & a Jabra 250v bluetooth headset
Everyone says if I want to Listen to my Videos or Music
I need to get a Sterobluetooth for it
But I was listen to my Videos & I dont know how but could hear its audio
on my Jabra 250v & I know its not a Stereoheadset,
But it happpend,
Ca someone Help me
I want to know how it is possible & how i could set it
cos i dont like the stero headset, & be walking with 2 headphones on each ear
I prefer not to carry around a extra stereo headphone
& use just one,my Jabra 250v
well all i can tell you is i am currently running a Wizard and a Jawbone together im running TNT1933 HTC/Professional
voice dialing thing might mean you are using the old voice dialer... did you change it so that it uses MS Voice Command if not (go into START --> SETTINGS --> Buttons) mine is setup like this
Button 1 Messaging
Button 2 Internet Explorer
Button 3 Camera
Button 4 Voice Command
Button 4 (HOLD) Record
Button 5 Comm Manager
make sure voice command is set to button 4...
the phone screen (dialer) when i read this i am thinking the old version of the phone dialer the one that came with the wizard nativly... if you mean the voice commander MIC icon then say it like that cause it makes no sense... i was able to use this after i installed Voice Commander, changed the button and Added the bluetooth device then reset the unit... after that everything worked great...
I'm also running a Wizard paired with a Jawbone and am currently flashing over to NBD 8.3. I would rather use BlackDiamond 3.1, but it seems that Voice Command doesn't like BD. I may just end up cooking my own ROM that will work with VC, I just wish BD would. It's a stable ROM (once you kick some of the bugs out), and I like the "wow" factor of the Cube when ppl check it out...

Hi,
Thank you for that, my buttons are set up precisely like yours.
By phone screen, I mean the one with the TNT logo at the top left-hand corner, along with a headset icon. This is the same thing that pops up when I click the green phone button. Note that this is NOT the voice command mic icon. When I click the button on the headset, I want the mic icon to pop up and take a command.
Any suggestions?
I got the Tilt 2 yesterday and while I really enjoy it for the most part, there's one thing that's really getting on my nerves. I can't turn off the screen manually without stopping audio playback (whether WMP or Pandora or TCPMP). The Q&A on HTC's website illustrates it well--
Q. When I am listening to music via the built in Windows Media Player on my device and I press the Power button to put my device in hibernate mode, the playback stops. How can I continue to listen to my music without having my screen on?
A. If you manually press the Power Button once to put the device in hibernate mode, Windows Media Player music playback will stop. This is by design to allow you to quickly stop the playback. To continue listening to your music without leaving the screen on, let the device go into hibernate on its own; the music will continue to play.

I really hate this because I want to be able to turn off the screen whenever I want, and I can stop playback quickly enough by pushing the pause button. What's more, the screen does not automatically go into hibernate mode in Pandora anyway. It may not in TCPMP either, I don't know yet. Is there any way to go back to the WinMo 6.0/.1 way?
I already posted this on Brighthand, but the WinMo forums there are relatively dead, so I thought I'd post here.
I'd really appreciate any help; I don't want to waste massive amounts of battery power in Pandora.
Thanks,
Andrew
install the xdaShutdown app... there's an option there to turn the screen off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544016
It seems to have the same effect: stopping the audio when I hit "sleep."
Try changing the sleep to lights out it's under right key options some themes have this on screen anyway..
Also not sure if any of these ways will help:
Music not playing when turn off screen: For people who use normal device lock vjdevicelock.cab install to device will be a shortcut in system tools / For people who use S2U2 Toggle Screen.cab install to device will be shortcut in System Tools will sleep screen then S2U2 locks "Both of these tweaks will need to be reaplyied if you turn device back on via power button"
Taken from my Kaiser ROM thread.
Use Nitrogen Player and click on the Power Icon to turn off screen.
Or if you prefer to use another browser, just add it to the Exclusive Programs List under Settings > Task Manager > Exclusive.
I have long power mapped to turning off the display. Basically, I have a shortcut in \windows that points to a morscript that toggles the display. The link is called long_power.lnk. This is the script:
ToggleDisplay("Off")
Oh, I should have looked more carefully at xdaShutdown. The lights out option is the perfect solution! I mapped the program to the PPT button so I can do it more easily. Thanks everyone! I'm also going to look at Nitrogen anyway, that sounds interesting.
Playback While Screen Off.cab
I have this cab, im not sure who made it but it works on my sprint tp2 great. I simply install the cab. and after that whenever i play music in any app... WMP to Slacker Radio... press the power button and music doesn't stop.
Hello,
I have an HTC Touch Cruise with windows mobile 6.1. I use it on my motorcycle with TOMTOM NAVIGATOR, and earphones. I config TOMTOM, push the today screen and lock my phone. It works perfect for 10 min.
After the 10 min, windows mobile displays a message:
"TOMTOM NAVIGATOR is still running an using the battery would you like to close NAVIGATOR", you must aswer the question with YES or NO.
If you do not answer the question, windows mobile close the NAVIGATION software. > very irritating....
Is there an solution to disable this battery saving function, so the NAVIGATION software must never stop automatically...
Thanks
I think you should go check out the Power configuration. it seems to be that after 10min the phone goes in standby mode.

Yes just power off and wait.
no solution
No that not the problem, i hav already tried. Look also at the picture
well, then it's caused by the software it self. did you go through the setting of tomtom? i'm sure you can disable it. but how do you use it when you go to the today screen?only with the headphones?

ah, now I understands this. so you minimize tomtom window!
I was so shure something is stealing focus from it but you've been doing it yourself
well then solution is easy, tomtom has to be on top. There is no option to disable this popup feature.
You need a diferent screen screen locker, you can't minimize TT (going to today screen)
try the one I am posting here, map it to a button (long press green)
this is from PHM tools, quite old, it will blank screen (no input possible)
to unblock you need to press 'action' button.
If this won't work, I am quite sure another will. search forum for one,
eventually you can set up autolock, but that's not too practical, you wound need to wait for it to lock screen before driving.
OR by doing this script:
- you run TT
- start the script and it would:
1. press start
2. press left softkey
3. return focus to TT
try all above options first, if nothing I can write you this script.
Hi,
i use a RNS named Blaupunkt New York 800. It´s running Windows CE 6. When i access the windows through a startscript i can´t run the Explorer.exe.
Also when i try to run any software where i have to set a directory there only shows up a white frame with nothing in it. No folders or files are shown.
Is there a chance to make the existing explorer.exe work?

If you tell me how you are able to "access windows through a script" I may be able to help you as I have a different brand that runs the same code as your system (your system is a re-branded advuv630). If you tell me how you are accessing it I can get it to work for you. I have a decrypted firmware for that system and its almost exactly the same as the advuv630. So I can probly use the same method you are using to access and get something working for you.
--thesh0ck
Edit: Its General and DVD-Rating on the advuv630, not general and bluetooth as I stated below. So try that first.
Go to settings menu, hit the following butons alterativly 6x (twelve total presses) General -> Blueooth -> General -> Bluetooth etc...
This will take to to the system menu.... where you can disable the requirement to have the parking brake on to watch movies and other things, I wouldnt change much other than that here.
This is what you want though:
You can also press time and volume in the same sequence and you will get right into the wince start menu screen with no hacks required. Its built into the unit.
If time and volume dont work, try all of the combinations (it will only take a few mins to try them all), one will work. Select two of the top row settings buttons and go back and forth hitting them 6x each till you find it.
Hope this helps. I just foind these two hidden options the other day....
Hi there, ho to disable the requirement to have the parking brake on to watch movies??? Is it on "brake override" menu?

HANDS FREE NOW
Hands Free Now is an attempt to fix the bug in Google Now that Google itself never fixed.
As most of you know, as of Android 4.1+, our headsets are configured to work as follows:
1. Single press for play/pause
2. Double press for next
3. Long press for Google Now
However, the long press option does not work when the screen is off. It works only when screen is on. This is a bizarre lack of feature because if the screen is on and unlocked, you might as well click the mic on the desktop widget to launch Google Now. Why would you need the long press option anyway?!
Several attempts were made by many people to bring Googler's attention to this lack of feature, but all of em were conveniently turned down.
So I guess it's up to us to fix it.
I have started making this app but being the newbie that I am, I'm not sure if I can finish it alone. That's why I request you guys to help me out with this.
Uploaded below is the first apk
Concept in brief:
1. Launch Audio service that intercepts media KeyEvents
2. Once KeyEvents are triggered, create an empty StandOut window that blocks the entire display.
3. Wake up device, disable keyguard and launch Google Now
4. Release wakelock immediately. and reenable keyguard
5. Kill process in 10 seconds
Steps to use:
1. Install app
2. Open app from launcher once. You can go back to Home after this if you want
3. Lock screen.
4. Jack in the head set and triple press the button.
5. Device should unlock itself and in some time will launch Google Now
6. Fire your voice command and wait for response.
7. In 10 seconds, the screen will lock again.
8. For these 10 seconds, your phone will not respond to touches (this is intentional and by design, because you would not want your phone to "pocket dial" while travelling)
Release Notes:
1. App is currently incompatible with music players
2. Battery effectiveness is unknown; you might have to uninstall it once you have tested it
If you can help, the source code can be found on GitHub.
Installed app, but it wont launch after 3 presses of the button, I get a double beep sound when doing so.
I can help out with testing if you want but as far as coding goes im not very useful xD
Bluetooth too?
Will it work with Bluetooth headsets as well or only wired ones?
THANK YOU!
I registered just to say thank you, your little app allowed me to have the kind of music control I alway longed for since i passed from iPhone to Nexus 5. I'm truly grateful.:good:
I had the problem when the screen was off. After when I long press the little button on my headset. Then comes a black screen with a message: please wait (initializing) but nothing does.
But this app solve my problem!
Now I can use Google Now over my Headset.
Thank you very much! ?
Seems an old thread, but nevertheless: Thank you! Finally it works!
I'm just curious if it would be possible to change add long-press functionality. The app AutoVoice is capable of receiving a long press (also with locked screen). But it doesn't help because it relies on the not working Google Search.
Possible idea: your App could register as a service capable of receiving the VOICE_SEARCH_HANDS_FREE intent, it could receive the long press and start its procedure. It won't work immediately because Android will display the "Choose default app" prompt, that obviously doesn't work when the screen is locked/off. In order to choose the default app one has to wake the screen and manually override the keyguard/lock (for example via Secure Settings Plugin and Tasker). The override is somewhat buggy, and even though the screen is on, the phone still 'thinks' it's locked. Now: long-press to receive the command for long-press while locked, see menu and select default app. ..Hope my explanation isn't too bad.
I'm investigation another workaround to get it working with music player.
Best regards, Grtschnk
