Hi all, once I turn OFF wifi on my SP5m, it sometimes comes back ON automatically, even though all my "internet applications" are shutdown/closed. It's as if an internet connection would still be needed somewhere on the phone?!... but once I turn it OFF again, it stays OFF this time! Why would it do that? How can I make sure it stays OFF once I actually turn it OFF?
Thanks all
highmighty
May be a bug? or a Feature ??
* Double check for all application shutdown
* Go on Comm Manager and disable it, wait for LCD go off now return on Comm Manager and check if wifi is on, than turn it off
I'm using bundled CeleTask to close all tasks and stop wifi, work, may be some time need to turn off wifi 2 times, (after the lcd turns on)
FYI, I'm using WM6 (perfect edition) and to me it looks like a bug, anyone else has this? It's very annoying cause I always have to double-check that wifi is OFF when i put my phone away... otherwise, it reconnects to my wifi network and drains my battery
Same over here
same here as well
but even before i flashed my dopod577w with imate sp5 rom i already experienced that problem
I have the same problem. SDA flashed w/imate
I do face that problem using AKU2 , sometimes
so does that mean it!s a known issue for both wm5 and wmó? anyone knows more about it? someone is working on a fix? thanks all
highmighty
This has plagued the SP5m in every firmware version I tried, except the factory one, and also in wm6.
Same thing on my qtek 8310 with any firmware. Always have to close Wifi two times.
I have a T-mobile SDA with its stock rom and it has the same problem. I think why the problem is happening is something to do with the setting that turns off wifi automatically to save power.
I have not experimented with it, but I think if you turn off the setting, you shouldn't have any problems anymore.

I am not a techy so I will try and explain as best as possible.
I am running the Sleuth 3.0 Rom and Radio 1.64.08.21 on Orange UK network.
All seems great but I have one major problem, I need to keep a programme open (gprs conection) all the time and the problem is when I put my phone on standby (pressing the red off button quickly)the gprs (orange flashing light) stops and after a few seconds I then lose my signal (green flashing light)if I press the on button quickly after about 10 seconds I start to get a signal and the Gprs returns.
In one of the settings I did un tick the box to keep data connection active when entering sleep mode but that never helped.
I HAVE SEARCHED but as I don't know what I am looking for I have placed this request.
Cheers
Nick

well this topic has long been discussed
According to my knowledge, the only way to having wifi always on is to disable the power timer say like "if device will turn off in a minute or so". I personally have tried so many apps which are claimed to having wifi always on, but most of them are in vain, then finally i got one to get it to work is "Oldsap Dontsleep". It does very simply job, just yr device won't go off, that's it
thanks
