Thank you for your help

crazy solution i need a power battery so
i have found some settings for a HD2 but nothing for Diamond 2,

well this topic has long been discussed
According to my knowledge, the only way to having wifi always on is to disable the power timer say like "if device will turn off in a minute or so". I personally have tried so many apps which are claimed to having wifi always on, but most of them are in vain, then finally i got one to get it to work is "Oldsap Dontsleep". It does very simply job, just yr device won't go off, that's it
thanks

Omnia Bluetooth and WiFi problem...

Hello,
First thank you all for your time and help.
Problem is following:
When I make bluetooth connection between Omnia (I upgraded to taril's DXIA5 ROM) and Balupunkt auto radio which has integrated bluetooth, the phone is waken up as soon as it goes to power save mode. This drains my battery in 2 to 3 hours (fully charged).
The same story with WiFi connected to access point, when "Wi-Fi power-saving mode" disabled. But if I enable "Wi-Fi power-saving mode", than it is OK.
I guess "Wi-Fi power-saving mode" turns off wifi module and by that connection is not active anymore.
Regarding bluetooth, I guess this radio is all the time checking signal quality of phone, checking if it still there,..., and because of that screen is turned ON. As soon as it goes off in approximately 3 seconds it goes back on.
When I bought Omnia,it had ROM i900XXHG9/PNHG9 and everything was working well.
My friend bought Omnia half a year after I bought it and this problem was allready present in samsung official ROM. Can't rember which ROM did he have exactly, but I know it was different version than my (newer).
I upgraded both of Omnias to Taril DXIA5 ROM thinking this might solve his problem and after that problem showed on both devices.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you.
VV
Just FYI, we don't deal with non-HTC devices.. I hope someone has the answer to your questions.

[Q] Wi-fi Sleeping Problems

Heey,
I'm running the Onecosmic RC3 rom (SGS)now. I always have my wifi on. But when I don't use my phone for like ten minutes, the wifi turns grey in the notification area.
I saw that some people are having the same problem, but since I'm a new member, I'm not allowed to react within the forum of the RC3.1 forum.
My wifi 'sleep' setting is set to never, I've wiped all data before, but it doesn't solve the problem.
Can anyone help me, it's very anoying, because i can't get any mails or other messages when I haven't turn my phone off for 10 minutes. Only turning wifi off and on seems to give me a connection again.
with kind regards
Try this app:
https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.thedarken.wl
Make it aquire a PARTIAL WAKE LOCK and see if that fixes your problem.
It will prevent the cpu from going into a deep sleep and disconnecting the wifi.
Thank u , i try this,
I'll report back
btw. doesn't this drain battery ?
Everything "drains" battery.
You can either have wifi and additional battery drain or no wifi and no additional drain.
Okay I'm back.
I'd have replied earlier, but there was an outage, and for some reason I happy about that.
Because of the fact that found out that it doesn't solve my problem enteirly. When I'm at home than yeah it does. But the moment I go to another location with wifi ( e.g. work or school ) it goes gray again. ( fyi i never turn down my wifi, and i'm not intent to do so )
Well then obviously you didnt setup the connection correctly to work with the other wifi?
Password?IP?Mac adress allowed?
I did set them up good... how I know i'm sure ? If I switch wifi off and on again, I have a proper connexion
Are you using some kind of app like wifi static to switch between dynamic IP on one wifi and static one on the other?
no no no, nothing like that. When i was on a stock rom ( 2.3.3 ) I never had this problem. That's why my first suggestion was the rom. But I can't post in the rc3.1 forum , and when others with the same problem ask things, they don't get a respons.
btw I'm in my battery status overview, and the app ( wake lock ) usses 55%, is that okay ?
the android-operating system is only like 6-7%, where this was higher before.
oh, and thanks for your time helping me
The app prevents the cpu from sleeping (as that is what a wakelock does), thus the device never fully sleeps and uses battery.
As the app has aquired the wakelock, android shows it as the cause.
Nothing wrong there.
I used the app for a couple of days now and it doesnt resolve the problem
more suggestions ?

[Q] WP7 Wifi connectivity problem

Hi lately i have been experiencing troubles with my wifi.
The router signal is strong and whenever i turn on my phone it will be connected in less than a few seconds but WITHOUT connectivity. (ie. the wifi symbol shows connected but i cant browse the net)
The only work around for this is to manually disable and re-enable wifi for my phone to be truly connected. (Which is very tedious)
I know this may be a router problem as well but in the past i didnt have this issue.
Im using HTC Mozart 7 - updated to 8107
I was wondering if anyone is having this issue too and knows of a solution to it.
Thanks
unplug the router and plug it back in (after 30 seconds)
Home routers are noted to stop handing out addresses at random times. Rebooting re-enables this so the phone can get an address and get on the net.
Hm my router is working properly. All my other devices are connected with connectivity. Whenever i turn on my phone, it also says connected (but without connectivity), so the work around is to disable and re-enable my "phone" wifi and then my phone is connected WITH connectivity.
To do that is quite tedious every single time... and it seems like a connection bug in my phone if all my other WIFI devices are connecting properly
Thanks
Hi guys.
I have the same issues with my Omnia 7 too. Started a few days ago. Cant sync emails, nor surf on my phone. It seems like itss connected to my network. I have my latop and other phone working on it like a charm. Any ideas?
Hi,
I have the same problem on my Omnia 7 and it all started after the 8107.79 OS Update.
The WiFi works fine when you first connect but after the phone is not used for a few minutes and I turn it on, it's shows as connected but I can't load any websites.
If I disconnect the WiFi and connect again it works fine
This is a serious issue!!!
I have also tried to restart my router but this didn't solve the problem.
Did you guys found a workaround?
Thanks!
Same here
I have the same problem (after 8107 update).
It connects to my wifi, and strangely sometimes (but that's rare) working, and get pages to load on, but then it shows the connection, but can't load any page in IE.
Also, reconnecting doesn't solve always the problem.
Any suggestions what to do?
After i have done a hard reset, and reverted back to 7740, i don't got any problem to cennect to my home wifi.
But the disappearing keyboard is really annoying, so i want the 8107 update features, but not the bugs of it.
Still no other one have problems with the wifi connection @8107???
We are 3-4 who got the problem, so i don't think its so user specific...
Another news
After reverted back to 7740 i decided to update one more time to 8107. (If something will go wrong then I have a backup of my Omnia7 with WP7 Easy Backup).
So i updated to 8107 one more time (no KK2 update arrived, CSC and PDA is KI4), and now the wifi connection works fine.
So try to revert back to an earlier version (with a backup), and then update again, maybe it can solve the problem
Yea.. but that is really random then... its like saying ur update is better than my udpate!! haha even though its the same material overall
Im sure more people have this issue as well just havent seen this thread
Hello ! I have the same problem with my HTC HD7 I have to take off the battery to let WI fi work again this is very annoying!! A fix for this please!!
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
count me too ! Omnia W
Not working - again
I've done a backup in 7740, so i reverted to it for 1 day, and there was no problem with the wifi.
Then i decided to give another try on 8107 - and it worked well for 3-4 hours. That was 2 days ago (as you can see in my earlier posts)
But now it have the same problem, connects to the home wifi, but after a while the internet is missing, however the connection remains! Can't load any page on IE and can't connect with any app that needs internet connection.
This is a serious problem, and i see that others have this problem too, so we should deal with it!
Any expert that know something about this issue?
HTC Trophy with the same WiFi problem.
I have same problem on my LG Optimus 7.
anyone with problems receiving incoming calls too? sometimes freezes the screen and have to take the battery out and put it again to reboot!
Same problem here with HTC Titan. The prob started after the 7740 update. Now running 8107. Turning the WiFi off and on again does work (thanks Mercea2) but, as he says it is tedious.
I'm having a similar (same?) issue on my Omnia 7 - the problem hasn't always been there though.
I've come up with a work-around - turn off 3G data while in range of WiFi, and turn WiFi off when not in range and switch 3G data back on.
If only one is turned on at a time, my people hub updates instantly. If both are on, it takes many attempts and a long time.
Seems like there is some issue switching between 3G and WiFi...
3G/wifi not working together
As someone said it before, the wifi keeps giving errors if 3G data connection and wifi is also turned on!
If i switch off and back the data connection switch (!!), then the wlan works again for a while. If i switch data totally off then works flawlessly.
Any workaround for that?
Maybe a homebrew, that can switch off data connection temporarily, if the phone is connected to a wifi network, and after disconnecting it will switching back. But I think if it can be done, than just on fully-unlocked roms (i have Omnia7, and unfortunately DFT SammyRainbow is not ready yet)
My wifi/3G problem started with the 8107 update (Omnia7, not KK2).
So any suggestions what to do?
Ok.... this is getting on my nerve... whats the point of having wifi on if it doesnt connect the moment that its suppose to!!!
Can we inform anyone about this?
Same problem here with HTC mozart after the update... worked for 2 days and then no more wifi
Hope microsoft put an update soon

Official HTC ICS Update: Problem with Wireless LAN

Hi!
I updated to the original HTC ICS rom and am noticing 2 little "bugs"
1: Wireless LAN doesn't stay on. I can turn it on, but once the screen turns off the wireless connection is turned off. To resolve this I have set it up so that it stays connected to the AP even in Standby Mode, but this seems to have no effect.
2: Bad GPS reception: I have noticed that the GPS reception isn't really all that good. Don't know if this is related to the update, but I have now really started to notice this problem.
Anyone else had the same problems? If yes was there a solution found?
Cheers

Ur best chance is looking at here for anyone else experiencing anything similar.
For your GPS problems you can try this FasterFix app. Worked very good for me
Edit: Just saw that It requires root. I don't know if you have rooted your official ICS... Be careful
Thanks for the tip
My problem however isn't a FAST gps fix. My problem is getting a gps lock at all, and holding it. Strange thing is that when I am in the car I constantly lose the gps lock, or get a bad fix.
My girlfriend however (she has a Wildfire S) has no problems whatsoever in the same car.
I would be far more tempted to look at aGPS if I were you. I was never convinced by FasterFix - it's a very minimal app.

It sure is, but it does what it has to do. Setting the ntp pool on my phone from Asia to Europe surely made a difference

I agree with you there - it made a difference to me as well, but setting up my aGPS correctly brought my time to acquire a stable lock down from about 17 seconds to 3 - 4.

I had a similar problem with wifi and it worked by re flashing!

Had the same problem - but I'm still using Gingerbread.
The solution:
Settings > Wireless & Network > Wi-Fi Settings > "Menu Button" > Advanced > Wi-Fi Sleep Policy.
You'll probably find you've got a policy that lets the Wifi sleep after a certain while. Turn that off, and you're probably ready to go!
Hope this helps (hope it's the same on ICS)
===
Yes. It's the same on ICS. I did it after I upgraded, and it's working fine.
