I am not particularly experienced with Windows, so please excuse any obvious mistakes.
I recently got a PC with Outlook 2007, (previously I only had a Mac with Entourage, and a PPC Wizard - I synced them with a 4Smartphone Exchange Account).
I managed to get Outlook 2007 to work with the account, then it asked me if I wanted to archive my e-mails, I thought, somewhat naively I guess, that it would just backup my e-mails to the PC - instead it stripped them all from the Exchange account.
Effectively Outlook has archived all my past mails to archive.pst, on my PC, leaving me with no way of accessing them from my exchange account OWA, Entourage, and PPC.
Just replacing mails in the Exchange inbox in Outlook does not cause it to re-sync them with the online account. How can I repopulate Exchange? (Noticeably none of the e-mails are synced from the PC to my PPC either.)
To be honest I find all the options in Outlook slightly arcane; I realise that this might not be the best place to ask, but I really am not versed in PC forums.
Thanks for any help.
Hello,
Here is the situation: I have Outlook 2003 at home and MS Exchange 2003 at work (and do not have access to exchange informations outside my work). I am synchronizing my PocketPC at home only currently.
I want to be able to synchronize my work contacts from my MS Exchange at work with my PocketPC, BUT I do NOT want my personal contacts to be stored on MS Exchange (because unfortunately we often have to give our email password to colleagues for urgent reasons; and I would not feel well if all my personal contacts where stored on my work servers).
Is it possible to do this ? if yes, how did you manage that ?
chris
i read through various parts in this forum that it usually the problem of the server that it it isnt sending things in HTML format to outlook mobile, i wasnt able to recieve Exchange mail in HTML on my touch pro, so i programmed the same exchange account on my wifes Iphone and to my amazment all the emails that came in were perfectly normal in HTML format,
so is there anyway to fix this issue and make the Touch pro capable of showing HTML mail comming from Exchange.
Best regards for the pros in this wonderfull forum
Kevin
i hope that anybody else is having the same problem as i really tried everything but nothing is working real weird, even though i tried to configure the exchange server sync to HTML but its not working either, as soon as it connect it gets back to plain text.
i really hope there is a solution for this with one of you great guys.
Best regards
kevin
Is the Exchange server running Exchange 2007 or 2003?
That's not a bug it's a "feature".
You either have to have an Exchange 2007 Server to display HTML mail or if you have an Exchange 2003 server you have to use POP3 to display HTML mail.
its a 2003 i think
but why is the iphone capable of showing the HTML email from the same exchange server.
that was basically my main question. if it is just some server feature, how can the iphone show the same messages in full HTML without a single problem
I think it is because Pocket Outlook leaves some HTML rendering up to the Exchange Server rather than do everything on the PPC. But that does not work on the Exchange 2003 Server only on Exchange 2007.
But if you communicate with your Exchange Server not via ActiveSync but via POP3 or IMAP HTML works. Because in this case Pocket Outlook is forced to do all the rendering by it self.
ok, now i understand the case, thanks boss,
i think this is the only superiority aspect for the iphone, ivebeen using it for a couple of days now atter jailbraking it, and im nto impressed, im actually much less than impressed, i miss my Rpahel. so much,
its really such a shame i cant h ave Pushmail and HTMl together, but well its a small sacrifice for a great device.
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help!
Hi There,
Does someone have a PHP Script that will emulate a MS Exchange Server so i can synch my HTC P4350 WM6 by internet?
Now i synch everything in my laptop so it is put into Outlook etc.
But want also a backup option on a different place and the ActiveSync can do that over the internet.
Thanks anyway for the reading, but more for hopefully a sollution
Peter
no but maybe you should try www.mail2web.com . they offer free ms exchange 2003 accounts with outlook mobile and outlook web access and you can use their server for syncing you contacts, calender and tasks
I have found that also on the net thanks anyway !!!
by any chance does anyone know how to sync outlook to the sensation with out using htc sync??? and without a paid app???? so basically free......
If your "outlook" mean you use a microsoft exchange server, and if your exchange server support webmail login, then you can use Exchange ActiveSync to sync with it.
Use myphoneexplorer. It will sync almost everything nicely.
