Tried searching - couldn't see an answer so here goes:
I tend to have my phone on vibrate for most of the day (in and out of meetings and it's easier to leave it on vibrate all day than to try and remember) however I would really, really like to stop it vibrating when I send a text - the text goes, the little window pops up saying message sent and the phone vibrates for what appears to be longer than if I had just received a text!
Phone: T-Mobile MDA Compact with 1.12.00WWE Rom version, radio 1.12.00, protocol version 1337.42
Is there a simple way of turning this feature off?
Thanks in advance,
Bryan

Hello,
I have an O2 Orbit 2 with S2U2 installed. I recognized the following prob.
I S2U2 is started the caller is shown in the S2U2 Display but if i deactivate it only the ringtone is running but no information about the caller is shown. Also the homezone sign of O2 Germany dissappears when a call is coming and coming back after the call.
can anybody please help me
regards
Zackmuc
Using a UK O2 TC with a T-Mobile UK SIM, I've checked a few times, and I get caller ID and network info clearly displayed, along with the usual S2U2 green and red buttons to answer or reject the call.
Maybe try uninstalling and re-installing?
yes that is if u2s2 running, but if it is deactivated it only rings without any name or number .... only the normla today screen
Ah. Well mine goes back to the S2U2 screen, but instead of having "slide to unlock", it shows the green and red buttons. Maybe it's an option in the S2U2 menu to change.

Mine sometimes shows the two buttons and sometimes shows 'Slide to Answer' - anyone know why it's sometimes one and sometimes the other?
But how do i get the WM6 build in information window with an incoming call? It should be displayed when U2S2 is deactivated. E.g. Incoming SMS are displayed but not phone calls it only rings without displaying the caller. THe only possiblity to get the callers name is to talk to the person

On mine, if the TC is awake and I'm using it, i.e. browsing, it will have the green and red buttons.
If it's asleep, it will show slide to answer.

Sorry zackmuc, I'm not sure. It works well on mine, along with the photos.
There is a huge dedicated post to S2U2 elsewhere on this forum; have a read, and see; perhaps ask the same question on that post.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
The IM app seems to be working great. However, is there a way to get an audible signal/tone when I receive a message and the phone has gone to what I guess is standby?
i.e. I'm chatting on AIM. I set the phone down to do something, and come back a few minutes later. I open the phone to find a message stating "A message has been received would you like to open the conversation?" But I never received an audible tone.
Is there a way to make it chime even when the screen is black?
I have developed a strange issue as of late with my text message notifications while my Fuze is in standby. When I have the system/ring volume up, it notifies me just fine, even when in standby, but when I put it to vibrate I get no notification (besides the flashing ring) of a text message or email. This only happens when I am running a rom that is not stock. The problem goes away when I flash back to stock, but re-appears again if I flash to a custom rom, regardless of which chef's rom I use. Any help would be much appreciated, as its killing me to be stuck on this stock rom lol.
this happens to me to , you should try G-profile . look it up on google or search it here .
basically you can make a profile that overrides all other profiles and if the notifacation only works for a period of time you can make enough profiles that it switches before it stops notifing again . :] good luck !
Thanks for the advice, I will give that a try if all else fails. I would really like to figure out the root of this issue, rather than a work-around. I have noticed questions about this issue pop up in other rom threads, but no answers seem to have been posted.
Edit: The phone functionality is unaffected by the change from tone to vibrate, it works as expected when I receive a phone call. The text message and email notifications, however, do not.
I have the same thing on the ROM is my sig.
The only way I found to make it work is that you have to check the Vibrate option in the Sounds & Notifications for the alert you want.
For example...New Test Message...it wouldn't vibrate if that was unchecked, but if I checked it, then it vibrates just fine.
for me i get text notifications but no email notifications :[ . i use the app for the work around because people have actually been mean to me saying that its impossible to not get notifacations :[
I have the same problem. Ive checked vibrate under text and all, yet it does not vibrate and only does the flashing ring. What should i do
Recently I bought a HTC HD2. Very nice phone and stuff, but some questions, wich I can't find in the instruction manual.
- In Contacts it display's the last name in front of the first name, can I switch it around?
- When I receive an sms, my phone only vibrates 3 times but doesn't give sound. But when I get an incoming phonecall it does give sound. What the?
- Is it possible to automatically make the phone turn on bluetooth when I put it in a charching dock? (and turn off again when I get it out the dock again)
- When I get a message, I click on "Messages" and then the message turns up wich I last read, not the message I last received, so I have to scroll up each time.
Sorry for my bad english and maybe some things can't on a HTC (last phone was an iPhone and this things were possible on my iPhone).
Well let me try and help you with this.
1) Yes, it is possible. Try this: http://shubaroo.com/index.php?module=contact
many people say it worked for them - I did not try it yet
2) To put a ring and turn on or off the vibration when you receive an sms you just need to go to the preferences (the last icon in Manila) / the 3rd option (sound and screen) / go down to rings and click on the 3rd option (sounds and notifications (reminders, new messages, etc.) / than you choose the 2nd option (new messages, but you click on the name and not on the on/off - keep it ON) / than you can choose the ring from the list and if you want it or not to vibrate from on the top.
3) I have no idea, I never thought of this, but there might be an application that could do it, I just don't know any.
4) When I am in Manila and I want to go to the 1st message, then I just scroll left or right and then back to the message icon, and it starts from the beginning.
I hope this helped you a bit, and maybe someone else can fill in the blanks.
I have posted here but recieved no answer. I figured my question belongs here anyway, so I won't bump the other thread.
I am trying to use Hangouts as my default SMS app (It is also currently the only SMS app installed on my device) because I do like it. However I noticed that sometimes I don't get any notification when I recieve a text message, no vibration, nor sound nor notification in the status bar. As a result, I miss quite a lot of texts. Notice that I do recieve those texts, if I check the app they are there, text bold to indicate they are not yet read. I just don't get the notification. Also, most of the time I do get the notifications without a problem. So to be clear, this is about some SMS's, not about all.
As far as I know this happens when I recieve the message very shortly after I put down my phone (my routine: send text, press 'backbutton' once to get in the hangouts overview, and then I press power to shut of the screen and put the phone down.) If I get a message let's say within half a minute of me turning of the screen I won't have a clue I recieved the message until I go look in hangouts to check. This happens often when someone is quick to respond to my own message, but could maybe be happening with other messages I recieve in that time. I don't think this happens to messages I recieve when the screen has been off for a time, but I can't say that with certainty.
I have a HTC One S currently running CM11, but I had this problem on stock ROM too. However never with the HTC stock messaging app.
I have found similar problems here on the forums, but no satifying answers. I hope someone has a solution?
