Hi Guys,
For those of you that use GPRS on the jam you know that you have to click on the G logo next to your cellular reception bars and then chose connect. THe problem is I am in the USA and I put in my own gprs settings and it works fine but the default t-mobile UK settings is ALWAYS THERE, now i have two options to choose which gprs to connect, i removed it already in the connection settings and i removed it from the remove programs, yet it still shows up!! Please help! I need to kno how to get rid of it. THANKS! :? it's just too annoying to have to pick from two everytime

Annoying o2 logo/ XDaIIi

All
I have an XDaIIi on the o2 network uk. The o2 logo is permanently displayed in the WA area and I do find it irksome and annoying. On my previous phone I was able to remove this by removing the o2 UI active interface application. On this phone this doesn't seem to be possible as it keeps telling me the application is in use, read only etc...
I have gone to Windows folder and deleted associated files but I cant seem to get rid of;
Windows/fonts/xpdr_o2.ttf
Windows/Mobile Solutions/O2ActiveUI/Modules/Connections/connections.exe
Can anyone advise how to disable this at all please so that I can clearly see the icons in WA that I want to see.
I have tried telling WA to ignore o2UI but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
All help appreciated
NB the beta version of Wisbar Advance works fine with the XDaIIi, a must have for any user and well worth the minimum cost!
did you look if it's started in the
windows\startup
and if so tried to remove that shortcut
Doing as RudeGear WILL work because it's exactly what I myself did last week.
No more annoying logo!!
I just removed "connections.Ink" from the start up menu and yes it does appear to have worked.
Thanks both!
Probably silly of me to ask, but why do they put that bloody logo there after all the unit is stamped o2 on the case, so why????
It's not a logo thing, if you tapped it you get a connection dropdown list, for GPRS or USB connections etc.
It's just crap, s'all.

Remove Vodafone Customisations

Has anyone else tried this?
I wanted to remove the Vodafone customisations from my 750v so I tried the following: a hard reset (reset with power button on > 'yes' to delete all data); as soon as the power and screen comes back immediately remove the battery to interrupt the setup process.
The result? No VF splashscreen and 60MB (was around 48MB previously) of storage memory in addition to the program memory. The 750v seems faster. However, a manual setup of the data connection is required as is a registry edit to change the 121 voicemail button to my providers voicemail number.
I'm sure there are other changes too. I've still to test this properly over the next few days including a trip to a 3G area.
Excuse me if this has been covered elsewhere - I've looked but not seen anything similar.
It is funny, I have just recently heard people mentioning Vodaphone customizations like the splash screen. However, the only customization that I have on my 750v is the Vodaphone Business.tsk.
Yeah, i have a vodaphone and no stuff from them besides the business theme.... which i'm fine that way. That's odd, cuz i've got 66.31MB total storage memory

Does it now include MSN?
>Does it now include MSN?
No it doesn't
The only customization on my Treo 750v is the Email Setup link and the horrible gray theme. I have never seen such a lightly customized phone from a carrier, let along Vodafone. Even Vodafone device I have seen or owned has been branded to the point of instability.
If it wasn't for the Vodafone logo on the phone, you could swear you bought an unbranded device.
Same here guys,
After installing the latest Vodafone UK WM6 ROM, the only customisation I have is the Business theme, other than that, I couldn't find anything else to do with Vodafone which I found odd but believe me I'm not complaining.
Cheers.
German Vodafone - is it the same ?
Is the above mentioned for UK/ireland VOdafone branded Treo, or German as well ? i.e. will the ROM and update to WM 6 work if it is EN version?
thx

SPV M3100 MMS Problems

Hi I'm new to this site and new to Windows Mobile Smart Phone.. I've purchased a SPV M3100 from EBay and unlocked the phone. Everything seems to work apart from the MMS... Got the setting of Vodafone, but it still doesn't want to work.. Has anyone else had any problems with this? Does anyone know of solution etc?
Thanks
Well, I am looking into eBay myself and am tempted to get one (how much did you get yours for? New?).
As for the MMS, see first if the MMS applications are installed (should be if you're using the Orange stuff). If they are not installed, then you should have a look around to find the necessary cab (install packages). If the application is installed, then bringing up the right soft key and choosing options (under mms), you should see an "options" menu item and should be able to proceed from there.
Also you're likely to get better help from the Hermes forums as that's what your device is (see a little lower).

Phone hanging

First Post (should be nice and simple)
My Vox (3 months old) keeps hanging and his to be rebooted
The few times this has happen have been when I reply to an SMS message and today the system hung when i finished a phone call
Has anybody else had a problem like this and if so have they worked out the cause and maybe a fix
Thanks
BH
Are you using an Orange SPV E650 by any chance?
If so, the following may help.
Turning off XT9 as the preferred Text Input method has caused no end of hanging issues.
You can download the De-Brand from Modaco, which will not only fix it, but also remove all the Orange crappy customisations. Download from here:
http://www.modaco.com/SPV-E650-de-Brand-Fix-Pack-05-t255845.html
If you're not on an SPV E650, then ignore the above, and hopefully someone else may have a solution for you.
Nope Its a sim free S710 (only way to get one in Ireland)
but thanks for the post
edit
Just went to reply to an SMS there and she hung again (windows loading images comes up and spins away)
edit 2
While I am posting
Is there a select all for SMS message so that they can be mass deleted from the inbox (deleting them 1 by 1 can take some time)
edit 3
I turned XT9 back on (dont know why it was off) and have sent a few messages with no problems
