Serial port dislodged..I-mate pc phone please help - General Topics

G'day all
I'n need of desperate help as my serial port is stuffed, can someone please tell me if the male part of the connector is available to buy anywhere?
I know this is a tricky soldering job but a good friend has offered to help
Also I notice the rear backpack connector appears to route thru the same pins, does anyone know if this could be used to charge and sinc the phone, and if a connector is available.
Sorry for the gimme questions but I've searched all this site and many more with no luck.

Himalaya connector broken, need a back-side sync cabel

Hello,
the bottom connector from my Himalaya is broken...
Does anybody knows if there is a sync-cabel for the back-side connector ?
Or a female plug (perhaps from a cable extension) would help me to solve the problem as well...
Thanks in advance!
I have exactly the same problem. Any advice on where to find that connector. I can't take to a authorized service, because there's none in Macedonia
Thanks
Hey guys, can anyone help please. At least if you can tell me where to find that connector on the internet, so I can change it.
I think it's the same connector as for the IPaq 3800 series, can anyone confirm that. Thanks
ATC
go to www.merconline.co.uk for xda2 parts very good for conector repairs
was you finding that cable. I am also searching it, pls tell from where i can get it. i also not sure is it for synch and to charge xda.

Exactly same?
I have a Himalaya(i-mate Pocket PC) with a broken USB , repalaced by only a charging port so that I can charge it but cannot flash it! Got the intact cradle though. Is there anyone who can repair my USB port so I can flash it again?
this happenend on My first Himalaya too,i´ve searched a lot through the Net
and couldn´t find any spare parts, what I want to say is...
theres a bigger Problem to find Spare Parts then to solder the Port to the board
(yeahyeah...which isn´t easy too..i know...)
But is there anyone who knows what is the backside connector? And is there cable for it?! It will be good to use it! Just to avoid, soldering and finding spare parts! Any info will be good! I have soldered mini usb 2 times and every time i do that after fall it came of! I'm sick of soldering!!!
MMMMMM That`s it!!!
Look all!!!
The backside connector isn`t for syncornizing an charging!!
It`s just for connecting the "High capacity" battery, you know the big battry with 2400 mAh.
All i want to say, you have to put a new connector to flash roms and charge the battery without take it off from your devices.
Hope i`ve help you with you problem!!!!

I knew that! But if u open a himalaya, and if u see below the back side connector there is a number of small dots, and every single of them are corespondenting for ones where the connector was soldered... So if anyone can find a corespodence for usb connection that will be good project... Just to avoid a use of old and crapy original connector, then u can use any connector u want! (for about 4 pins which is need for charge and usb sync) !!!!

Coaxial Cable / Antenna?

Hi Folks,
Yesterday I repaired the Backlight/LCD of my Raphael and destroyed the coaxial cable thats connecting the mainboard and the other board. After this action I tried to work with the phone but i have no receiving. Now I bared the rest of the cable and i have a little bit receiving. First i wanted to braze it, but the connectors are to small.
Has anyone an idea where i can get that part (coaxial cable)? I searched the www but didn´t found anything. Or are there any other ideas to get the phone correctly working?
I´m very sorry but that was my best english
Maybe someone can help, me.
Greetings,

Ouch sorry to hear
It always hurts when you try to repair one thing and in the process something else breaks. ( my poor psp and its LED mods )* RIP
Try having a look in the Raphael accessories forum.

sounds like you are talking about the "ribbon flex cable".
I damaged mine on my wizard or kaiser back in the day and ended up buying a damaged device off of ebay (one that was run over by a car!) and then taking the part form that device.
also you could check cnn.cn as they have parts for phones as well.
Hi,
Thanks for your replys. It´s not the "ribbon flex cable" it´s the cable shown in the picture named "antenna wire".
When there is another way then buy an old rapahael i´ll take that

HTC Sensation micro USB battery port brocken

Hi guys.
Earlier this morning. My HTC is not charging. I've check the micro-usb port and it appears that there is a problem in the port because there is a brocken pin. I've tried to re-align it and out of luck, the pin broke. I am wondering if it is difficult to replace the micro USB battery port of the HTC sensation. I saw a post on incredible S section and it's easy to replace it as the USB port is just connected on the board via ribbon. Have anyone have encountered the same issue. Worse case scenario is I will need to have the usb port be remove on the phone and replace by a new one, but I am not good on soldering stuff and I might mess the phone big time. I hope someone can reply thanks.

At ifixit you can see a picture, that shows, that the port is soldered to the board.
I think it will be hard to solder a new one to it, since the pins are very tiny. Maybe you can find a replacement board on ebay?

[Completed] [Q] Is anything wrong with this micro-usb cable?(PICS Inside)

So I recently purchased a new micro-usb cable but it doesn't seem to work..PC doesn't register phone nor do other conventional usb charges charge when using the cable(other cables work fine)...since am in no position to return it, i opened inside to see if it was something i could fix..here are the insides...
as you can see, the wires are exactly all lined up end to end...not sure if this is the way i.e when stretched out, the 1st terminal is connected to the first on the other end, second to 2nd , third to 3rd and finally 4th to 4th..
if anyone has a working micro-usb lying around, would they be kind enough to show me how the terminals look on both end??
Hi there,
I'm sure you wiil receive a better response from experts if you ask in this thread:

Wilson Antenna and S4 Active. Help needed

So I bought this: http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/pn/samsung_301128 antenna for my father in law. What's included with this doesn't plug directly into the S4 active external antenna port. I did some reading and found that I need an patch lead as discussed in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442569 problem is that the antenna I bought doesn't match the connector of the patch lead. Is there another adapter I need? I'm willing to buy whatever is needed to make this antenna work with the s4 active. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

i dont know anything about this, but if you show me what the connectors look like, i may be able to tell you what they are to help look for a cable, unless you already know what there called.
once you know the technical name for the connectors needed, should just be a matter of putting that into google and hope there is one available.
