Extract T-mobile Myfaves Program?

Sadly, t-mobile has discontinued the wizard/MDA (vario)/k-jam
Interestingly enough, they are releasing a new phone (the wing) which to be honest is just about the same as the MDA (but in my opion worse... and i wont bother to list the MANY reasons)
However. the new phone will support their MyFaves feature. And apparently in order to take advantage of this plan, you need a myfaves capable phone. But phones are windows mobile devices, which leads me to think it is more of myfaves software than an actual hardware component that would determine if you could use myFaves or not. Does anyone know if they can extract the myfaves program from a rom or not?
They have released the wm6 rom for the t-mobile dash and the updated rom can be found:
http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
So i was thinking, if they could implement myfaves on the new dash roms, it should be possible to install a similar program to the wm6 MDAs!?
But of course, even if this were the case, they wouldn't offer it cuz they want you to buy their worthless new phone which is more of a downgrade than an upgrade.
Here is the wing:

Pretty... but sooo not worth it...
it lacks flash and is the same processor speed! Not worth the money!

You can actually sign up for MyFaves with our MDA,
I am currently on My Faves 2000 plan with my T-Mobile MDA, just call in say you just purchased an T-Mobile Dash and that you want to change your plan to the My Faves plan, in which I did, then just log on to t-mobile.com and set your 5 faves. They didnt ask for any info on the phone or anything, I just told them I purchased it off of ebay and just picked it up from the post office.
They "claimed" that their system over time would detect that you are not using a myfaves compatible phone, and then after a month or so, they would cancel the myfaves off the account. But the reason i ask this, is cuz their new phone will have the myfaves program integrated, which would make it easy and convenient

Well I've had MyFaves over a month now, and still using it with no problems, but yes easy and convient would be cool.
been using my faves for a good three to four months i'd say, no probs at all, manage myfaves from the website, the quick dial plugin, forgot the name but spb has one and there are others too...

My Faves T-Mobile UK on unbranded handset

I've just tried this and despite the info on Howardforums. The numbers I enter on t-mo.co.uk wont register. Seems we need the Dash cab file or need to use a My Faves handset for initial activation.
H
I think the My Faves cab file (from a T-Mobile US wing rom) is called wispa_PPC_Atlas_Release-2-0-0-0.CAB.
I installed it to have a look, but my Trinity wouldn't start...so a bit stuck really.
H
where can i get the my faves cab file at thanks
If you could be arsed reading my post...you'd have a good idea of the answer. There isn't one for UK atm. If you want the US one...you can get it from the Wing extended rom. Freezes my phone on boot tho.K
T-Mobile shop have no My Faves handsets for me to borrow for 10mins...They've not been sent demo stock apparently.
T-Mobile CCR was very suspicious on the phone and made me sound feel like I was doing something criminal.
Their selection of handsets is poo quite frankly and they haven't bothered to offer software for they're own branded phones. Whole thing is a big brother style scam. There's no reason to have this authorisation style handshake with the installed app on the phone for christ's sake. They won't switch me back to Flext either...tho I have a 7 day cancellation policy in place so I can return upgraded handset (Vario III)...revert to Flext plan then re-upgrade again.
Pain in the buttox!
may i ask if you have been able to get myFaves to work on a non-myFaves mobile please?
thanks a lot

Question for a Techy who knows o2 connection codes?

Hi there,
I have recently brought an xda serra, I brought the phone unlocked online because I wanted it on pay&go because it made more sense economicaly and thinking I could only use the pay&go internet on emergencys otherwise use it through wifi, cutting costs.
However I have put in an o2 pay&go sim which did not automaticaly configure the GPRS and wap conection codes. So the internet is not working on the phone.
I contacted Tech Support at o2 ; one guy was very helpful and we tried a few settings which I manualy put into the connections on the phone but they did not work.
Apparently o2 do not support the phone on pay &go only on contract.
I do not want a contract sim as it is costly and I cannot afford.
The chap from o2 tech support said it should be possible and we tried codes for other phones such as the nokia 58 100 pay&go, but they did not work.
He said google it to see what I get but no luck with that so I thought I would try this forum!!!
I am very grateful for any help or ideas!!!!
If u can help I am a true dummie, so a step by step detailed explanation is required. THanks!!!!!!

I have not tried to unlock my inq. If you want to purchase a unlock credit with one of the unlock guys and then forward me the info I will see if it can be unlocked and then if it works you can go buy yourself a phone then unlock it. Save yourself having to buy a phone you may not be able to unlock. just an idea. lol
