Hi guys,
I seem to be eating the memory on my new XDA Exec far to quickly for my liking...
Is it possible to change the location of My Documents completely so it is all on the Storage Card??
I sync with an Exchange server so have a sizeable Inbox.. How can i get all messages and the .pst equivalent onto the storage card.
Thanks in advance 8)

i have two questions about ram in 2005
first:
in 2005 version ram is used to run program ,so 128MB ram is all to program run.but i found one picture that 96 MB is given to program ,and another 32MB is given to some storage .
second:
according to the first question, sms is stored in ram or rom?and what about the other installed program?
thanks...
First Answer:
There are some versions of the XDA II rom modified by Buzz_Lightyear that convert a portion of the RAM on the device into additional storage memory. They loose the advantage of persistant storage, but gain additional space. Since I have yet to find an app for the device that really needs 128MB of run-time memory (Most I have managed to get my device up to is 80MB) this isn't too bad a trade-off (In my opinion).
Second Answer:
SMS, e-mails, contacts, and installed programs are stored in ROM (Or on the ramdisk if you have allocated part of the RAM as such.
Hope this helps!

Ram On WM 2005
Hello All , I've managed to install the "WM2k5_1.60c.00WWE_XDA2_HIMALAYA" Rom on my Xda II (previous O/S was 2003 se)
As I've been browsing the forum it seems that most have apprx 32mb of storage space available but on mine i see only 14.54 and after unlocking Extended Rom I can see many files in there from (what I imagine to be) left over by my previous WM 2003 se . My question is . . . Why was this not deleted and added to the storage memory when i upgraded to WM 2005 and can anyone please explain to me how to go about adding/merging it with my Storage .
Any help would be much appreciated , Thank You
I've got the same issue, after installing WM2005 1.60c I only have 14.54 MB of storage memory. Any chance of increasing this as my ActiveSync file sync seems to be greater than 14.54MB and ActiveSync is giving me errors that I have run out of space

Hello Hmerali , The problem was solved by using the Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0
It will increase the Storage partition to 31MB.
Many Thanks To Buzz & His M8s for this and the WM 2005 , Good Work !!
Cheers
thanks for that ... by the way does anyone get 'critical errors' when syncing with ActiveSync that says that sync has to start from scracth.
This casues my email sync settings to be reset.
Hello Again Hmerali .
I've been using ActiveSync Ver 4 and haven't had to many Problems .
There is a tool that will auto reboot the ActiveSync app instead of you having to reboot the computer over & over again incase of any error while syncing.

Hi:
Is there a way to configure a TREO 750 (T-mobile) running WM6 to save emails to the storage card and not to the internal memory? I know you can save the attachments to the storage card, but I get so many emails every day that I am still using up a TON of memory and it is slowing my computer down.
I saw somewhere else a post about hacking the registry, but when I tried it, it didnt work.
thanks for your help!

Hi All,
Was looking for a bit of advice.
I've just installed Office Mobile 6.1 update from Microsoft on my Artemis running WM6 - Works a treat
The installation gave me the option of Main Memory / Storage Card, so I chose Storage Card. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can delete the original office files from the Main Memory \Windows directory, and if I do delete them, will they re-appear on a hard reset?
Many Thanks
Hi
I am using WM6 on my XDA Orbit and would like all documents that I create saved to my SDHC card to save space on the phone memory.
I notice that it is possible to have a My Documents folder on the phone and the Storage card. Is it possible to make a registry change to just use the one on the Storage Card? Further - I would like to be "tidy" and store the various types of docs in Sub folders under My Documents on the Storage Card.
How do I go about achieving this?
Can someone please explain or point me in the direction of some documentation as to how the My Documents system is supposed to work on WM6 as I am a bit confused as to how to organise my user generated content.
Thanks in advance
Gary

Thanks just waiting for the company to respond if i hear what i want to hear then i will be the new owner of an xda IIi
Sorry question again
Is it possible to put applicatoins on the sd card then use the phone to install in instead of using active sync
Also like previously mentioned of the usb sync doesn't work can i do it buy bluetooth
Depends on what you really have, the previous thread mentions an XDA iii, aka Blue Angel, now it's an XDA IIi, aka Alpine.
Can't speak as far as the BA is concerned but the Alpine wil only take non HC cards, think there's a 2Gb limit, mine will certainly cope with 2Gb, not tried it with any bigger. Also the Alpine cannot be upgraded to WM5 or WM6, you are limited to WM2003.
Applications can certainly be installed direct from the SD card, just copy the CAB file onto the card, either by Bluetooth or by putting the card in a media reader on your PC, and then just run the file on the XDA.
