Aight knowledgeable xda members..
I have recently cracked my g2x screen... but i got looking at replacement parts n so forth.... wondering a thing or 2
ok best place to find the screen/digitizer and are there bad brands that i need to stay away from??
And 2 are there any custom g2x housings online other then oem black?
was hoping for maybe a silver.. and a case just dont do it for me either...
any advice would be helpful...
You can buy a white bezel and it definitely sells a lot more if u were wondering. Also its unique and it looks good.
here is a link for a white one, to answer your question, I don't know if it is a good or bad company. Hopefully i won't crack my screen to find out.

Hello xda community!
With an unfortunate drop from my high up bed, my g2x's screen cracked.
Thankfully the entire screen still works just fine.
My question is, does anyone know where I should go to have my screen replaced? Or if anyone knows a good way to replace the screen?
Any help and suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Well if you have the time and the skill. Do it yourself. Fleabay has them for $50..

I have replaced a few smartphone digitizers now and it is not that hard. Just watch a youtube video and get the right tools on amazon for cheap. I would say the skill level is 6/10.
or you could pay double that for a company to do it for you and be without a phone for a week or two...
I have a dugutuzer for sale. Brand new. Its not hard at all. Took me 20 minutes. Pm me if you want it. Ill even send you the tools needed.

In my area, if you look at Craigslist, there are so many people that offer cellphone repair services. Try Craigslist.
Amazon sells a replacement kit for about 60 dollars it has the tools and screen. I did it in under 20 min.
Just search Amazon buddy and then search YouTube for a video on how to take it apary
Nvidia always!

Wassup Bluzmeister this the one that bought the mother board off you email me at [email protected]
The only problem I have with doing it myself, is that I have tried replacing the screen on my old mt3g slide and ended up screwing up my phone, and had to throw it away.
After that, I don't feel safe doing it.

Thankfully I found this thread and went the Amazon route as well - $54 and about 30 mins of prying a few stubborn glass shards off the frame later my g2x is working flawlessly.
I'd even go so far as to say this new digitizer is a little more responsive than the original one!

Haha I know how you feel with the mt3g slide. That one is impossible because one of the slidescrews got stripped for me. Thankfully I had drill bits handy. I just replaced my aunts g2x last Monday and it is easy if you buy the digitizer with the bezel, that way you don't have to worry about prying the glass. Difficulty is like 5/10. All you have to do is take your time. If a 17 y/o can do it, so can you

I just bought one of these for about 23 dollars same seller. I replaced it but the digitizer does not work as good as the original. It is not as accurate to the touch and hardly works at all with a screen protector on it. If I had to do it over I would get the one mounted to the frame. It worked like the original.

Been to a beach last week, had my phone in my pants, forgot it, got it all wet and its not functioning right now. Lost my warranty. guys over samsung say it will take about Rs.5000. So i brought it back home, opened it up, and geez the motherboard was all messed up with, i dunno, white stuff . I washed both the board and the display (that was silly, but i had nothing to lose anyway) I brushed it clean. and it actually started working! just the mother board. Washing the display unit (or whatever its called) was a big mistake. Now I can hear sounds, but no touch response or display. So i think its beyond repair . I have to replace it anyway now.
So that the story. But what I am confused about is. the phone is QVGA. What if i connect the motherboard to the display unit of some HVGA phone like the Ace. and maybe if i flash an HVGA rom too, somehow :silly:. Will it actually work? or is there more to it? Dumb question maybe. But i think you guys can help out....
It won't work

Shattered dreams .. anyways, thanks a lot for replying so soon!
I've searched and searched but can't seem to find a guide or video on how to change the charging port for sensation. My port is having issues and I really don't want to return it for repairs . I've ordered the part but can not find a guide that is device specific. Does ANYONE know of a instructional guide or better even video that I can use to achieve this? Or would I be better off taking it to a shop. Local shop wants 65 dollars for labor even though I will have my own part. . Seems steep too me. I know I could do this with appropriate guide. Please if anyone can help I will much appreciate it. Also advice is welcome. Please respond. Thank you. I can still charge after a few trys it looks as if part in port is bent upwards. Wonder if I can gently try to bend back in place?

While I don't have experience in changing the USB port on this device, I do have experience in attempting to do the HTC hd2. My advice is bite the bullet and just pay for the repair. Unless you are a soldering god you will ruin the phone. I over soldered my hd2 and fried the board altogether. it is not easy at all, and you will need the proper solder and a very very tiny tip to do it. You could always try to bend it back if you can see the issue but be very very very gentle with it. I had to order a new part again before I even got to the soldering poor hd2

Thanks so much for the advice! Yeah after searching I guess I'm even kinda lucky to find someone in my town who will do the job. Plus side is he said it will be finished in 3 hours. So thanks for sharing your story. You just helped me make up my mind . I'll just bring the part over to him and pray he knows what he's doing! What a pain! The part was only 2 dollars online! But it's the labor that gets ya. Thanks so much for your response!

Ok, let me start with what I did. I plugged my S3 into my car, via the micro usb, and when I did, the screen went black. Tried using the power button, but to no avail. S3 would not turn on, no led, no boot up, Nothing. Took S3 to local phone repair shop and the informed me that the motherboard / main board was shorted out in two places. What caused that?
My real question is, since they said they could not repair my S3, what are my options for getting it repaired? Send to Samsung? Are there other repair shops that can fix my S3?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice given.
