I also have a similar problem, the story goes like -
My IMATE JAM was going perfectly fine, it also had the latest WWE ROM, no issues. Now for some reason, I download from www.pocketgear.com and install the trial version of "Pocket Mechanic" which also installs "Pocket Hack Master 2005". While trying out Pocket Mechanic, I use something called "registry cleaner" which is supposed to cleanup any incorrect/unused registry entries. After this I try "Pocket Hack Master 2005" which is a software to test the CPU speeds. As soon as I run this program, the screen freezes and my phone is dead. I try and reboot the device, but it is stuck at the blue boot-up screen. I am unsure whether my PPC died because of registry cleanup or because of "Pocket Hack Master 2005" software.
Anyways, now, I decide to re-install the WWE 1.12 ROM and start using the device. But, no luck, on the PPC - the blue boot-up screen does not go away and on the installer screen - "Checking information on your device... Please wait...." and is stuck.
I think the device is not booting up and hence is being not recognised by the PC as a USB device.
Please help... I am dead...!!!! Any safe boot options, anything at all?
try to press camera and power button, and while holding them, press "soft reset hole". it should boot into bootloader and it will be displayed on the screen V 1.0 or something like that and the light will be OFF ! connect USB and reflash!
pls forgive me for silly question, but... how do you flash, or reflash your device?
I am sure you do NOT need to re-install the ROM.
Registry Cleanup manipulates the Registry. If crucial entries are deleted by accident the Operating System (i.e. the "RAM part" of it) might not boot anymore, but the ROM itself is not compromised.
Also Hack should only manipulate the registry and the Operating System on a software/RAM level. I cannot imagine that it would alter or destroy the ROM itself or the Bootloader.
Did you also try to "hard-reset" by pressing+holding power button while pressing the soft-reset-button-in-hole for a few seconds ?
This completely resets the device to the "factory default" (of the current ROM version) where you need to calibrate the screen again like after the very first power-up....you also lose all data and installed programs in the device, but I guess that is the least of your concerns now....

Hopefully I will get attacked for being an idiot, but if anyone can help it would also be nice.
However fun playing with mtty.exe and task 2a was I believe I have bricked by TyTN II. I have read many things and tried everything I can find, so if someone has any ideas to get a bootloader back please let me know!
Hard Reset of course will not work.
Soft Reset of course will not work.
Installing ROM from SD card so far won't work because can not go into bootloader mode.
If someone has any ideas besides melt it down please let me know.
ID10T Comments also welcome
Thanks

Saying that "it doesn't work" will usually not help finding the exact problem.
What did you do, what does the phone displays now, does it display anything? if yes, what.
When you plug your phone on the PC does the PC seems something connected over USB, or is it just dead ?
Did you install HardSPL originally etc.
provide details !
Press simultaneily power+camera+stylus, if bootloader not appear you have bricked your Kaiser.

More Details
Background:
I purchased an ATT unlocked phone from the US so I could use it in Japan where I live using the softbank AP and service. I already use an unlocked Hermes, so I thought it would be easy to install on the Kaiser with Chaimd's install files. I was able to get my boss's HTC to work, but not the ATT, so in order to provide Chaimd with the original CID I followed the instructions on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568
Once I did all that it seemed to work fine with the new ROM; however when I ran "info 2" for Chaimd he did not recognize the CID, so I may not have completely uninstalled the SSPL_Kais. I just got curious playing with Mtty.exe and ran "task 2a" (Before I read don't do it on Kaiser) and had the following dump in the terminal window:
Cmd>task 2a
Format ALL start
backup SPL OK
backup MISC configuration OK
SPL start start block=288, total block of CE=1760
ERASE block 1275 FAIL !!!
Write 0xFF start page=0x4800, total page=0x1B800
SPL version and MFG TAG are same, skip it.
restore SPL OK
restore MISC configuratoin OK
restore MFG configuratoin OK
Format ALL end
Cmd>task 2
Observations:
- The Phone will not turn on or off with power button (no lights change)
- When reset only is pushed or held nothing happens (no lights)
- When Power is held then the soft reset is pressed the green light on the left turns on and remains solid green. (phone will not respond to power button and green light only goes off after reset is pushed again)
- Camera + Reset nothing happens (no change no lights)
- Soft Keys for Hard reset are pushed with reset button (nothing happens. No lights).
- Bootloader's three color screen does not ever appear.
- The Hard Erase screen options for factory reset never apear.
- When battery taken out for a period of time then above tried again, nothing changes.
- Once green light is on it will not turn off until the reset button is pressed
- when connected to the PC the PC does see it, but doesn't know what drivers to use.
Tested
- Installing ROM from an SD Card
- Reinstalling ROM from PC, but without Activ Sync I do not know how to install a new ROM as per the instructions in the various installers.
- I have assumed that without the bootloader working that nothing would work, but I have tried
I hope this enough details for someone to help me find the next steps.
Thanks

Thanks for the other postings. I do believe mine is the same as the First post.
At least the green light still lights up. Just seeing that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

I think i posted in another thread that your phone is now in "Qualcomm Diagnostics Monitor" mode. Your SPL is no longer available and the phone falls back to this diag mode. There are drivers for this mode (i posted them somewhere) and certain diag actions can be performed with tools such as "PQST". However, to date there is no known way to flash it. It pretty much looks like u have a brick. The only way to recover is via JTAG. I'd say you better send it to HTC service.
Thanks
Thanks for your wonderfully unencouraging words jocky. At least I can stop reading and accept the "things I can not change..." Perhaps when I go to the states I can convince ATT to give me a new one - Who knows.
There are a few guys here who have jtag equipment and the necessary knowhow. I will have my own segger jtag in a couple of weeks. Drop me a PM maybe I can bring it back to life then.
i have heard About Hard Rest
what is it?
and how u can do it?
hardreset is a reset which put the device back to rom default
all user changes are removed as well as user data
how it's don varies from device to device check the manual
with wm5/6 devices a real hardreser may reqire the user to pick clear registry hive and format storage from bootloader
hey
we spoke befor and u told me that my device is calld Elf remember
and im stuck in bootloader screen with ROM fialer
can i make the Hard Rest??
you can give it a bloody good go check the manual or XDA-wiki as to how you hardreset elf
well i just red the manual and i did the same (talk+end+rest)
and a black screen with these words come on
"This Operation will delete"................................................................................."press Action to restor and any key to cancel"
will where the hell is the action
becouse when i press any button it gave
Smart phone screen with a blue line in the bottom and flashs and i came back to the same problem no WM
action button is the name for the big button just under the screen
well i think its done but it gave me a white screen ,how long should it take to have Hardrest??
i would enter the bootloader again and try to clear the registry hive and format storage
otherwise i would flash a rom on the device again to rerive it

Can someone advise me with a problem I'm currently having on my HTC Touch Cruise running WM6.0? I recently tried to uninstall a program (TomTom, which came installed on the device) but the "Remove Programs" application became locked in what seemed to be an endless loop. The progress wheel kept turning around and around without stopping. I figured out a way to use the rest of my programs but the Remove Programs application continued to run without getting anywhere. After about half an hour of this I reset the device using the recessed reset button. The device began to reboot, but got stuck on the green "Windows Mobile" screen during the reboot, and hasn't gotten any further. I've tried further resets, removing and reinstalling the battery, etc. but the device will not reboot beyond that green screen. Can anyone think of a way I can get my device up and running again without having to wipe the system? (I have some data in device memory that I don't want to lose.)
Try a hard-reset!!
Frepke
I don't want to do a hard reset because I don't want to lose my data and programs.
Hi,
I tweak my HTC touch HD by change certain registry value for performance purpose. I found that, after changed, my mobile would fail to boot (stop at window green screen). I am not sure whether it takes longer time to boot. However, I used to wait for > 10 mins but still retain at same screen.
I got to soft-reset my mobile again by press the red button under the cover. Usually, only the 3rd soft-reset would be successfully. Once boot ok, the subsequence soft-reset would be fine as well.
Question, is behavour normal, by design or any problem to my mobile?
Please advice. Thank you
You have corrupted your registry it sounds like. Change back the keys to what they were before (if you can remeber), else you need to do a hard reset.

Hi,
What do you meant by corrupted? If you are refering to wrong key value, then I can say the value it correct. Even though I change back to original, it still need to reboot for 3 times. The key point here is, whenever that is any change to registry, 3 times reboot would be required, 1st time freeze at window splash screen. 2nd time usually freeze at "Loading TF3D ..."
I was thinking whether WM would cache anything during soft-reset if nothing change. If any, then it need to "clean" and reload everything or ...
Any ideas?
Thank you
Corrupted as in the Registry files where not correctly backed up by Windows Mobile. Not your fault perhaps.
Just be sure not to reset to quickly after aplying changes to registry.
and maybe backup and hard reset to maintain functionality
Hi,
I have changed the registry key to change the default keyboard input.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip
After changing the registry key, I have restarted my mobile but it does not get start properly. It just shows the starting screen (only shows "Windows mobile" on screen). Please help me to solve the problem.
Mobile details :- HTC P3450
OS :- Windows moble 6.1
Thanks in advance,
Milind
looks like you need to hard-reset your device.
Please let me know how to hard reset the device.

That's guessing you have an Elf HTC P3450 if not the WIKI will hold the info
Not Working.
Even after resetting it just shows the "Windows Mobile" on screen.
Is there any other way to edit the registry entry.
No way to change registry without being in operating system, my next advise is to go to the WIKI i linked and find your stock ROM and flash.
After a hard reset (soft reset won't solve your issue) it will sit at the Windows Mobile screen for a while as it initializes the system for the first time, so wait 15 or so minutes, and it should get around to setting up your stylus and such.
Hi, this happend to me once screwing around with sip, to get block recognizer back in wm6.5, and the all thing freezed just like you. So do operate hard reset and be patient it will end up telling you you really messed up but will start from scratch after a while.
hcall,trowakage
After hard reset I have Kept the device on for whole night but still it shows the "Windows mobile" on screen.
stylez,
It is not possible to connect the phone to PC through active sync, so it is not possible to flush the ROM.
-Milind.
weird, I suppose you tried pulling out the battery and putting it back on? what keys do you press to hard reset? do you get a message saying you will loose all your data press action to continue?
Can you enter hardspl at all? if so you can flash your rom
To perform a hard reset
1.Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.2.Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen:This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press Action to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
3.Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on your device.
good luck
hcall,
I have tried it in the same way which you have mentioned.
In the same way shown in video
But unfortunately it doesn't show any message (hard reset might work after booting OS completely & in my case it is not possible, it just shows "Windows Mobile").
can you boot on hard spl at all?
hcall,
no.
power off...
press power button while the volume key is pressed down... that way you'll enter the tri-color boot screen... connect it to your computer and flash a good rom.
TheRem,
Not working.
Is there another way to reinstall OS.
-Milind
It seems there is no solution for this problem.
-Milind
bring it to the nearest HTC service center in your country.
