hey guys , here is the problem .. firstly i live at the end of the world so i get end of the world services . i bought an xda II on ebay from the UK then the connector that connects to the AC and to the sync cable broke off the board , anyways there is only one company in South Africa that can fix it , but they refuse to because of company politics , basicly it aint a South African product . If any one could direct me to a good course of action please let me know , my XDA is.... in.....a....coma
if you are refering to the "flat" connector underneath the XDA2 then you are in big troble...it's a major replacement...can't be done DIY....unless you have the complete knowledge and tools...
the best bet is to befriend the technician of the service company to do it for you (you might have to pay him extra).

My local O2 shop had all bits except backpack. Charge/usb lead was £9.99. Aluminum case was £19.99. backpack (not in stock was £89.99). I bought case + stylii + lead. got £8 discount.
The girl in my local O2 shop looked at me like I was an alien when I asked for a screen protector.
haha.. its happens to me once in O2 shop......
As a manager of an O2 store I can help you out if you want to know what you can and can't get - to avoid the alien looks!
To be fair (due to, ahem, "budgets") a lot of store staff are part-time (bain of my life!) and don't get enough time to train on normal stuff let alone xdas!
O2 stores don't stock screen protectors (which is why the girl wouldn't know what you were on about!)...I have asked but to no avail.
I got a couple from the Dixons store along the road for nowt! (LOL)
Just PM me if you've got a question - but obviously I can't go delving into your account, data protection and all that!
Irnbrulad - this is a generous offer and I think you will have a queue of people baging on your door (if you let us know where it is!). I have been after the folding keyboard for xda 2 for months - any chance on letting us know where and when and how much?
Thanks again!
Ha ha, think I'm a few miles away from the majority of you guys! (north of edinburgh). As for the folding keyboard, we have yet to be given a confirmed date. There is a thumb-pad out which kinda looks like the keyboard on the blackberry device. Have a look at www.my-xda.com and follow the accessories link, then keyboards.
Hope this helps.
PS. prices are there for both keyboards too, you may be able to order the folding keyboard online, but we have yet to recieve them instore (that said, there are some stores that get priority for XDA stuff)
Thanks for taking the time to comment - if only more 02 staff were like you.
I went ot my local O2 store on saturday to buy an XDA II and was told they have none in stock and have no idea when they will be getting any. They wrote down my number on a scrap of cardboard to phone me when they get some stock - I'm not holding my breath!
They also have a lack of accessories. I would be really interested in the backpack because I do a lot of presentations and carrying everything around with me would be a great time saver - this is no-where to be found even on the net - does it actually exist?
Is it possible to get a list of O2 stores that have priority of XDA parts?
Thanks
Matt

Expansion pack first. It does exsist - not sure how many though! I've emailed someone i know in logistics to see if they can be ordered into stores. also asked which have priority. have a look on www.my-xda.com as there are details there.
Are you near london, if so let me know.
The xdaII has been out of stock for a short time at the warehouse. If you still want one pm me with your nearest big towns and i'll check the current stock
Got an answer for you. They haven't been launched yet - "hopefully in the next few weeks" is the response i got. Get back to me in a couple of weeks and i'll check again - i'll forget otherwise!
Any update to when these will be available in the uk? An Aus firm has just got them in stock so cant be far away.
I was wondering if there was any more news on the full size keyboard (can you tell I am keen!)
Thanks again - angus

How about fully intergrated in car kits? I had one for my old phone and am really missing not having one for the XDA2 and would be first in the queue for one when they are released. I have emailed O2 but they have not responded.
the release date is still pending i'm afraid

Mate, if you refer to the due date of April 16th... that would be the very first time that EXPANSYS knows anything about their ability to deliver devices  I am almost prepared to accept any bet that the release date will be any possible date except for April 16th 8)

hi all! a friend of me is on the way to nanjing and shanghai and want to buy a htc-phone. Does anybody have an idea where he can buy (probably cheaper ;-) a htc in nanjing or shanghai? On the htc page no store in china were displayed.
thanks! zear4fear
i mean no official htc store - just a store or smilar where he can buy a htc!
Does nobody have a clue? it's hard to search on the internet when you can not read chinese...
zear4fear
Hi,
As far as I know you can buy them from any high street mobile phone shops over there.
I used to live in Shanghai. China is a place where there are tons of cellphone resellers. Asia acually. I studied very far so our building is probably far from him. But there are tons of whole buildings just selling electronics so u cant miss just walk around. Shops just to sell cell phones. Yup no freaking plans needed . just bargain bargain bargain. and ask about warranty.
I know a good place that has a lot of phones in shanghai, the place call "sleepless city or ever-bright city" which you need to say it in chinese, because I don't know it's english name, it is near shanghai train station. that is six floors high and all saleing phones and very very cheap.
hey all, thanks for the replies!!! very helpful.
@keywong: do you know a street or the name of this building??
zear4fear
lol this is the place im talking about too! i was just walking. it's very visible. this place has more than phones! haha omg i bought a whole speaker system here for 100 kuai haha. i think i even got ripped and locals can get it cheaper.

Hey guy.Have you ever been there before? If not, welcome to Nanking,it's not as bad as you imagine.I don't wanna talk about the history and the politics.I just want you know that China was the victim, not the mob.
Ok,let's talk about the phone.I just find the shops in Shanghai on the website of the DOPOD.There are more than 30 shops.See follows:
http://www.dopod.com/pc/store/store_shanghai.php
If your PC can't support the Chinese language, just check the pictures in the attach files.U can show these to the TAXI driver,he or she may take you there.
My uncle is in Nanjing and I want him to buy me a HTC phone. Which shop can I find one
hi!!!! I did a hard bricked to my HOX at&t caused by a custom ROM and SuperCID. A few week ago I wrote a post and we conclude that the best solution was to unbrick it using a Riff Box. Where I live it is very expensive to take my phone to that kind of services, it is like 90 dollars for me, because there is not too much people that work with riff box. I was looking for an authorized dealer at riffbox.org and i fount this one:
http://www.ipmart.com/main/product/...ors,,1pc,JTAG,Adapter,,246889.php?prod=246889
which has the box at 109 dollars, so it is cheapper for me to buy it and then do bussines or sell it (it costs like 300 dollars in my country).
Well!!! lets go to the question::
I need to know how to find the JTAG pads for the HTC One X at&t!!!! Is there any board schematics or how do any technitian that works with riff box usually do to find those ports!! I'll really apreciate any help I receive!! Thank you very much!!
I found this:
http://www.ald.im/im/pics/htc/onex/htc_one-x-pj83100.jpg
from this web:
http://www.startimes.com/f.aspx?t=33220751
is that correct and works for htc one x at&t?
It would be better to have it repaired by someone who knows what they are doing. No offense to you but there is a lot more to it than just finding the pads. It takes a good level of soldering technique to accomplish. I have seen phones where the pads completely lift off the board. Ninety dollars is not bad considering the damage that can be done.

I agree, unless you're an electronic engineer and have high soldering skills I'd leave this to someone who knows what they're doing.

hi guys, thank you for your answers!! I know it's a very difficult work and soldering jtag pads can take to a complete board damage. I'm an engineer and I've solder many boards so I'll take this at my own risk, Does any one know how to find those pads? thank you!
SOLVED!!! After investigating a bit more I notticed that the riff box manager can only be started when a riff box is connected to pc, once you open the software and you select you phone brand and model number you can access to jtag pinout!! thank you for your attention guys!!
Can other country's internet police catch people in hong kong? Possible?
In some not very high technology country, (like malaysia) will the internet police catch people in hk? thanks
Depends on where you are. I suppose that the internet police might be worse in China (or hong Kong) than Malaysia. If you think you need protection, you should get a VPN.
Anyways this thread is in the wrong place but I hope I have helped you

Not sure I want to know why this question is even being asked to begin with. It would obviously depend upon what crime has allegedly been committed, and whether or not the country in question has the assets to go after someone in the first place. With that in mind...........
