Hi,
As far as I know you can buy them from any high street mobile phone shops over there.

I used to live in Shanghai. China is a place where there are tons of cellphone resellers. Asia acually. I studied very far so our building is probably far from him. But there are tons of whole buildings just selling electronics so u cant miss just walk around. Shops just to sell cell phones. Yup no freaking plans needed . just bargain bargain bargain. and ask about warranty.

I know a good place that has a lot of phones in shanghai, the place call "sleepless city or ever-bright city" which you need to say it in chinese, because I don't know it's english name, it is near shanghai train station. that is six floors high and all saleing phones and very very cheap.

hey all, thanks for the replies!!! very helpful.
@keywong: do you know a street or the name of this building??
zear4fear

lol this is the place im talking about too! i was just walking. it's very visible. this place has more than phones! haha omg i bought a whole speaker system here for 100 kuai haha. i think i even got ripped and locals can get it cheaper.

What sites do you buy your PPC from?

I got my phones of craiglist and ebay.
where do you buy yours?
this is an international site so people saying they buy then down the street and to the right is not going to be much help
www.expansys.com is pretty international though
"Don't go there, they've got terrible customer service and anyway that's a lingerie shop!"
tell me about it i got barred from there because i wanted to try out too many of their products
they dident believe me and my gf had the same measurements
? PVC from? Ann Summers . . . . . wait, damn, wrong site!
Operator - FOC on contract. Due an upgrade but trying to save the planet so haven't bothered - plus there's nothing out there I want so I'll stick with my Wiz!
doh!
the voices said they were tictacs!

How can I get a Toshiba TG01?

I want this phone! But in Norway that's not going to happen via the carriers. So I have followed eBay since it came out in Japan, and as of yet there hasn't been a single one for sale there! Is there any way to get this phone? Preferably yesterday...
Have you checked here?
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=179063
They don´t give a date but I heard will be in september the launching
Thanks, but I don't buy from them anymore. Their service is rubbish, on two phones I have had it took them two months or more to get them fixed! One of them it actually took them two months to say "sorry, buyt we can't fix this", and that only happened after I phoned them and threatened to jump on my motorbike and tear their French (seems like all European repairs are done in France, and efficiency isn't exactly the mark of that country!) headquarter down brick by brick with my own fists to get to the very rude lady that took care of the matter. I also mailed her a picture of me, and I think that made them speed up things a bit...
And I really would like to wait a week or two, not until September!
Shame to hear yopur experience was not good with them...
If I know some other place, let you know
Cheers,
Thanks!

you can try this site i don't know much about it myself personally but i hope it helps you. http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=4970243
Hope another member can give a review of that site, prices looks low to me, hope its not a scam...
I bought my TG01 off ebay for 480€.
But now, there`s not a single one available anymore!
I actually got the last one I've seen on ebay.
Thanks for the tip! But I didn't have time to wait so I have a HTC Touch HD now. If money (well, my wife...) permits, I'll get a TG01 in a few months.
Btw that Rightmate shop looks suspicious. Look at their front page: http://rightmate.ecrater.com/ Nothing says "good, professional shop" more than "Your image here"...

Ja, there's some on ebay.de if that's ok with you
http://handy.shop.ebay.de/Handys-Sm...a+tg01&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282
But I guess Norway ain't in the EU so you may have to pay tax
This is a MASSIVE phone I thought it was pretty ugly (saw it in orange).
Just my 2p
Yeah, it's big. But I saw a compare review out on the net, and it turns out that I may just as well stick with my HTC Touch HD. Nothing much to recommend the TG01 over that.

[Q] You are so much money to buy? ?

I come from China, we take this name of smuggling goods around 2700 coins, you buy it how much money it needs, like our students in general can not afford, so envy you ah! Finally, what you want how much money you offer this phone ah?
Oh, I'm not very good English!
........huh?
WTF? I seriously tried to understand any of the above but I failed. But regarding your title: I guess no user here is about to be bought. Or do we have any hookers around?
confused i am
I think what he's trying to say is... applications/SGS is pricey over there in China...? just guessing.
I think he wants to buy a second-hand phone as they're too pricey (from now on referred to as "coinsy") in China
I will sell mine for 1,000 coinsy, on the proviso that each one is one of those £2 coins...
Oh and it's a grey-scale Nokia, comes with Snake II among other features.
Please, somebody make this sticky!
What the.... I don't even...
??????????????????????????????????????????
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Yes, I am so much money to buy.
Wish you were?
wtf, i'm losing faith in google translate
My language parser just force closed.
Think I just wee'd a little whilst reading this epic translation fail.
Now do you intend to smuggle, buy or just complain about prices?
Ordinarily I wouldn't post on threads like this as I consider it to be board spamming, but seeing as I've just been accepted as a swype beta tester I thought I'd contribute.

Translation, maybe:
I come from China. We robbed Mario for 2700 coins. That's 27 extra lives. Also, students are poor. And full of envy. I have something for sale, a phone maybe. How much will you give me for it? I don't speak English very well.
Sounds about right.

Buying tips at the USA

Im about to visit USA (Miami, Vegas, San diego, Orlando) in two weeks and wish to buy a new android phone..either a galaxy nexus or galaxy s2,
I was hoping you could advice me for a good places to buy it cheap...Of course I need it to be simfree, gsm version and GT-i9100 / 9100T if its the S2
Search the craiglist.com for the areas your going.

Sorry Craigslist.com

Definitely craigslist...anything retail and off contract will be ridiculously priced.
2 recomm. so it must be good,
but how do i use it? Kinda got lost there.. :-s
Go to the website. Look up the city you need. Then go to cellphones and search the phone you want. Once you find a reasonably priced one you email the address at the top. They should respond and you can set up a date.

Meet them in a public place in the daytime where there will be people. If possible, bring someone with you.

Also check out the phone. Does it turn on? Are the water stickers on the battery activated? Is there sound? Any defects with the screen? Remember just because you set a place and time to meet does not mean you have to buy it.

The chances of succeeding in this quest for a good buy on a used, unlocked, GSM smartphone would appear be be very low, and sure to be very time consuming. I would recommend using eBay and much patience, and don't waste your vacation looking for phones.
Sounds like too much for me to handle on vacation.
Im just looking for a reliable shop to buy a brand new, in box, android device.
Is it really neccessary to look in advance for such place, or just to buy wherever i go if its an OK price ?
just to check for simfree (how?) and im finished?

[Q] Where I can buy in Hong Kong?

Hey guys!
I'm gonna travel to HK early next year and I'm intending to buy a 4C there (and maybe a MiPad)...I checked that the official Xiaomi store there only have MiNote2 and 4i (until now). So, anyone knows a physical store that I can trust to buy it?
I'm a little bit afraid to buy on eletronic street shops, since I had many problems with a similar situation while living in Korea. (The reason for why I need a store indication )
Thank you!
There are lots of physical stores. Just ask to try the phone first and you'll be set. You're gonna pay a little extra money (couple hundreds HKD), but basically, yeah, it's gonna be the same risk as the street shop in South Korea.
Ask about how the warranty works if the phone dies.
Sent from my MI PAD using Tapatalk
There's a MI store at the address Hollywood Plaza, 610 Nathan Rd, Mong Kok, Hong Kong
They didn't sell any Mi 4c about 2 weeks ago, but they probably are when you get there
Well, usually, new models are quite scarce at first, so they hardly hit retail stores for the first few months like the "Mi Store" in Shanghai.

Thank you guys!

you may wish to try the 'fuk yan' computer mall. ask for directions to the ''wonder building' along 'fuk wah' streets (get there by MTR)
a reference map here http://pic.radioshop888.com/photo/EBAYpicture1251114/map3.jpg
its not a massive mall but the most phones are amongst the cheapest price; be sure to explore around for other gadgets and goodies while you're at sham shui po!
