Dialing Prefix - General Topics

Hi there,
Is there a way that I can set a dialing prefix on my phone? for example, before dialing a long distance number, I was hoping I could pad the number with an extra phone number beforehand?
Ie,
I want to call 206-555-1212 - but I want my phone to dial 333-1414 and THEN dial 206-555-1212
Thanks!

Dialing "p" for wait

Hi,
in the old (and current I believe as well) Nokia phone - and most other pure mobile phones for that matter - you can dial a "p", typically by holding down the "*" for a while. The "p" makes the phone wait a little while before continuing to dial the rest of the number.
I need this feature!!!
I am using some prepaid phone cards for which this feature is really necessary.
So, anyone have a clue how to get a similar functionality on WM5? The "p" certainly does not work ...
Thanks in advance - Andy
if you're dialing live, you can dial only the connection number then open the keypad to dial the rest of the keycode manually. If you want to automate it, create a contact with the full number and you can enter in "p" there.
I have a contact for my voicemail which dials the voicemail and waits and the pin + #. this works great with voicecommand cause all I have to do is say "call voicemail" and it'll dial, enter in the password automatically and I don't have to touch the phone at all...
Interesting ... I did migrate all my number from my previous phone, where i had the "p" included in the number. The numbers also seemingly came up correctly on the PPC phone. However, when I tried to dial the number, it would not take the complete number with the "p" - I cannot remember exactly what it did, but it did not dial the whole thing. Thats why I thought/ hoped that there is another way. I guess, after what you are saying, I should give it another try ...
And yes, the application that you are describing is very similar to what I want to use. There is a prepaid international call provider, which has a local dial-in number and lets me call abroad for very little money. I call the local number - the service provider recognizes my account by the incoming phone number of my mobile - and then I dial the destination number. For the recognising part however, it is needed that the phone waits a little before it continues to dial the destination number.
Alright, alright .... works! Thx for the assurance! Tried it again and it just takes a lot longer - the pause is longer - than it used to be on my Nokia. Also, I do not hear the dialing tones after the "p" anymore, which probably put me off before.
Thanks! Thread closed
Try replacing the "p" with a "," . It will pause for a few seconds once the other side picks up the phone.

Change default area code for when dialing out?

Is this possible without actually changing my area code, I just moved to the other coast and get annoyed by having to dial an area code every time I dial a local number, but for the past few years I've had the same phone number and don't want to change and lose all my old contacts... And yes I'm aware I can change it in the text menu but I'm talking about phone calls only, not texts.. Thanks..
I just add area codes to the phone numbers of all my contacts if you call local it don't matter if you add area code so that works for me

M0111 comes up when dialing prestored numbers.

Anyone else yave this problem? On some stored numbers in my contacts when i click on the person it dials an m0111 befoe the regular number. But when i look at the contact before i press call the correct regular number is there. Its only when i hit call it tacks that on. The contacts are verizon numbers also. Ok the M is normal as it means mobile number that is being called. The last 1 in the 0111 is the start of the area code. Ex 1-201-52*-****. I called the verizon and they said it is trying to dial international for some reason....they want me to hard reset i said no im not doing that yet.

[Q] How To Call From Hidden Caller ID To New Numbers?

Good day. Sometimes when calling new numbers, you don't want them to see your number. I would like to know how to automatically hide your phone's number when calling new numbers and then automatically switching back (if one desires) so your number gets shown.
Does Android have this functionality or there is an app for this?
Thanks.
when you call a number user in front of the number #31# and you will call with hidden call id.
when use #31# you will call with hidden id, when you don't use you call normaly/

Click to collapse
Thanks, but i was wondering if there is an instant "touch solution" where you simply pull up contact and choose option to call from hidden number or when you call first time new number.
Where did you learn about #31# by the way?
I don't remember but you can find many usefull information about this on google/wiki.
i.e code for hidden calls or something like that!

[Q] Dialer Issues

Hi,
I have tried using 2 prefix style dialers so I can access my company VoIP system.
To make it simple, I have a phone number (which is my prefix) I dial to give me an outside line, then dial the number so my company caller ID shows.
When it dials the phone number, the tones are very slow. I have tried messing with the DTMF tone length and it has not made it faster.
I am rooted and using 4.4.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
